Don't get obsessed with how these synths sound - it's their form factor, work flow and general hip value that makes them attractive. Great machines for getting back into the fun of mucking about with synths ....🙂
Op-1 sounds amazing! Vintage vibes, an uncanny valley between modern and retro limitations. Op-1field is like a laptop sound, hi-fi but a bit to polished…
To me, it mainly sounds smoother while the OG OP-1 has that characteristic fidelity paired with the style of the presets of the original since it appears they have been carried over. The field really stands out with the FM engine however. Much smoother, soothing tones from it.
Great comparison - it was quite insightful. And wow, the production value of this movie. You really make it look easy :)
Thanks! I'd glad you enjoyed it! Yes, it's a lot of work to make it look easy! Thanks for checking it out.
incredible video, as always - awesome editing
Thanks! I really appreciate that.
Really helpful video. Good clear overviews, and great selection of demo melodies and presets. Thankyou!
Thanks! Glad you liked it.

Thanks for your comment. I appreciate your insights.
I agree
Great video, especially the radiohead midi clips :)
Thanks!
To be honest for every feature this synth/device has- the synth engine does sound very good
I agree. I think it’s the 32 bit architecture that the sound engine uses.
Awesome video engineering. So giving..
Thanks!
Great stuff! Love the Radiohead :)
Thanks!
What on earth is the riff he's playing on the Phase synth engine? It's so familiar but I can't quite place it.
Radiohead - No Surprises
another great video!
Thanks Christian. I appreciate that.
Da Funk was a good touch for D Synth
Yes! Thanks.
@@OllieLoops What's the tune for FM? I know it and I know that I know it, but I can't quite put my finger on it! It's been bugging me since yesterday.

The Better Call Saul intro 🤣🤣
Such a good show.
Can’t really decide which one sounds better. I like the charm of the original OP-1 but the hifi character of the new OP-1 is also great! 😮
Those are great observations. I personally find Field to be a bit more refined and subtle. And a stereo signal path is big advantage.
Dns sounds a lot crispier now, quality overall
Do you mean DNA? yeah, I think the field sounds a bit more refined overall. Some presets are similar, but some are noticeably improved.

the og looks more playful with the colours . I mostly make retro game music , the OG is a keeper for me :)
