I made a bassinet for Odin by the side of my bed out of a Tupperware for the first night. We fell asleep with my hand in the Tupperware. He was good after the first night. He outgrew it within weeks bought a bigger one , two weeks later he was out of that and into a crate. They grow so fast. About six months he wanted to be downstairs with Bear my other rottie. You all are too cute! Precious baby Rocco ! Omg your little baby boy (human son) is sooo cute! Everyone is going to grow up together. ❤️. We had a pit named Rocky. Thanks for sharing! Odin was upset when he heard Rocco crying.
My Rottie Abel is outside and he heard the his howl and started barking. I swear I have a husky and not a Rottweiler sometimes, he's SUPER vocal. And learned he can howl to get attention. Probably the worst habit he picked up but I still love him all the same. I joke a d say it's payback for being sucha talkative kid when I was younger, now my furchild is just like me 😂
Awww sweet boy❤️ teach your kids that Rocco’s crate is his “space”…when my Rotties were pups I carried them around like babies for the first couple of weeks …they like the closeness..you can see Rocco is very smart…
I'm not being rude but this isn't his first rodeo. Bruno was very well-trained. When my Rottie was a pup crating was not a typical thing. I had a gate up in my kitchen, with one specified corner with his bed and his toy box. He was fine he was very well-mannered. If I had to advise anyone about the breed,( I feel we are close-knit Community because of the negative stigma attached to the breed due to negligent owners) if they were a first-time owner, training, training, training.... even after your dog is trained it doesn't hurt to tether your dog 10 minutes a day and keep him up on his manners and commands. A dog that size that is not trained and is out of control can hurt someone without knowledge of what it's done. Then you have a beautiful beautiful dog being put down because someone bought it like a Gucci bag! What I mean is they want to sport the dog because he is politically correct are fashionable if that makes sense. I think those are the bigger issues I would address. But Bruno was wonderful it was quite clear that he was trained in the correct manner. This wasn't a rude message it was an observation. But also I think a message that really needs to get out there. For all breeds that have been given a bad name due to bad owners
Rocco was too stink'n cute! I knew nothing about rottweilers until I worked at an animal shelter, I guess they get a bad wrap, I saw nothing but gentle giants. I was gonna say getting up with him was like getting up for newborn feedings, but with two small children you may have been up anyway! Your kids look so precious.

Wow very good for a puppy with our doberman she needed another dog in her kennel until she was 3. Dobermans are super sensitive though my shepherd mixes were like Rocco
Our puppy also cried all the way through the first three nights when we brought her. I was very sorry for him. The next day, the neighbors asked what was wrong. I put our used clothes next to her to make her smell like we were next to her. In the evenings I lay beside her and caressed her while she fell asleep like a child.
please do lots of videos showing us not only the ups but the downs where he is testing you with puppy nipping, resource guarding if he ever does that. because lots of dog channels just show the good but not the hard parts. thanks
Mine cried when I left him in his crate as a puppy. Made me feel guilty. All I could do was give him an assuring voice that he would see me in the morning. This went on a couple nights and then he figured it out. My dad said that when he let him out that he would look all over the house for me on the first floor (but I was upstairs still sleeping). He got attached to me very quickly. Can't believe that was so long ago already. Where did the years go?
My Rottie just heard Rocco's lil howl and he started barking 😂 onuu, you got a vocal lil 1 on your hands this time! Abel loves to talk and sing to me everyday. Who needs a rooster when you can have a Rottie wake you up at 5am instead.
Wow, look at those big paws, Rocco is gonna be a big boy! Bruno will always be n our hearts though. My own rottwe is turning 6 now, and he just had an amazing recovery from joint problem. Rocco will certainly fill the hole n your heart left by Bruno. I know that I will have rottweilers all the way, just like you.
omg! so cute! I would have him sleep right in my bedroom or with the baby as he is a baby himself and have warm water mixed with the dry food and a big fluffy comfy blanket in his crate and he would be wrapped like a burrito, with a binky or soft rope/rubber because he' s teething.. But thats just me.. absolutely adorable!

I’m glad you got another Rottweiler puppy. Big paws mean it will probably be a big adult. A little advice. Don’t baby talk the dog. Talk like you would another human adult. If the dog is smart, it will pick up words quicker and people will be impressed with how smart he’ll be. Reference to him, he is a a baby puppy and your children are baby people. Pick your commands and stick to them WORD FOR WORD ALWAYS. Don’t deviate from them. Stop means one thing, halt is a leash command. The clearer you are, the better the dog will understand and thus the more he will trust you. Your relationship will thrive more for it. I couldn’t even spell in front of Hanzel without him picking it up. A loud voice is less effective than a authoritative voice. Don’t yell, but be the Alpha. Fear doesn’t work well with Rottweilers, respect does. Just remember, when your dog matures, it’s like a .357 magnum for your kids. Discipline and guidance with love and respect is paramount.
Poor pup misses his family. By contrast the little girl has her family. I think people are cruel. The pup should be with his family for longer, he's too young still.
Rocco cried probably for 30 minutes total at night. He was able to sooth himself back to sleep!
