I was always against dating outside a 5 year age gap personally, especially when it came to younger guys because most seemed immature, unsure of themselves and didn't have their lives figured out (which is fine most figure it out eventually but I wasn't interested in being anyone's mother). Then I met a guy 9 years younger than me through work and though I thought he was attractive I wasn't interested at first because he was outside of that age gap limit I set for myself, but we became friends and after a couple of years I had to admit I really liked him. Age differences are truly nobody's damned business. That is, unless one of them is not of legal age. People make such a big ass deal about it. I was raised by parents who were 18 years different in age. It has never been a big deal to me. When I first started dating, I generally dated guys my age or three or four years older. But at 40, I started to date younger. Sometimes 2-5 years younger and sometimes 10-15 years younger. It really depends on the people involved and especially their maturity level. The guy I dated who was 12 years younger than me was one of the most mature people I had ever met and also brilliant. Age was never an issue for us.
Exactly you love who you love. People shouldn’t even care especially with older men and younger women because women mature mentally so much faster than men. An average 22 year old woman for example, is on par with an average man in his 30s for maturity so I don’t understand the stigma associated with it.

I don’t know why everyone says the brain is fully developed at 25. I felt that even when I was 20, I already mature enough in most things. One thing I absolutely love about my five-years going strong relationship is we are the exact same age. No, it's not wrong. My two cents are... 1.) Different strokes for different folks. Similar ages usually correlates to similar references and life experiences, but not always. 2.) Age differences are truly nobody's damned business. That is, unless one of them is not of legal age. People make such a big ass deal about it. I was raised by parents who were 18 years different in age. It has never been a big deal to me. When I first started dating, I generally dated guys my age or three or four years older. But at 40, I started to date younger. Sometimes 2-5 years younger and sometimes 10-15 years younger. It really depends on the people involved and especially their maturity level. The guy I dated who was 12 years younger than me was one of the most mature people I had ever met and also brilliant. Age was never an issue for us.
Exactly you love who you love. People shouldn’t even care especially with older men and younger women because women mature mentally so much faster than men. An average 22 year old woman for example, is on par with an average man in his 30s for maturity so I don’t understand the stigma associated with it.

There a a few age difference in my family. My parents were 20years apart, my grandparents 31 years, my aunt&uncles 10-18years and my first marriage we were 4 years apart. Other than my first marriage all the other marriages lasted till death or are still going strong. As long as everyone is legally old enough age differences make no difference as long as the partners truly care for each other.

It is definitely more than age as all couples have issues all the time, but it is a matter of can you resolve them or not.

I feel like age no longer matters when both parties are over the age of 25 since that’s when the brain is fully developed. You see a lot of Hollywood couples where the older party isn’t technically a pedophile but one of them is 19 and the other is pushing 60 which just doesn’t sit right with me.
I don’t know why everyone says the brain is fully developed at 25. I felt that even when I was 20, I already mature enough in most things. Five years later, I did not change much but if I did, it was due to the experiences and knowledge that I gained not sure if it is because my brain was supposed to be fully developed or not. If you are sure of something then you can be sure even as a teenager.

One thing I absolutely love about my five-years going strong relationship is we are the exact same age. There is something so wonderful about getting each other’s jokes, references, etc. we are both part of the Oregon Trail generation and that’s a unique brand of humor and emotional experiences that I haven’t had with others I’ve dated who were just a few years older or younger. I have dated much older men, and looking back now I can’t imagine what the hell they saw in me besides booty. 1.) Different strokes for different folks. Similar ages usually correlates to similar references and life experiences, but not always.
2.) Ultimately, the heart wants what the heart wants. Just because you think you want one thing, your heart may find something that you wouldn't have described when asked.

I’ve struggled heavily connecting with, relating to and communicating with men my age. Relationships never work out and when it has it’s been short lived or extremely difficult.
