It is probably on the North side of Greenwich. I was always amazed with how the Merritt almost makes a semi-circle as you travel from the NE to the SW. My mom told me long ago, that the landowners wanted the hwy to not encroach on their land, or as little as possible, probably along the lines of the latter. Other horse country in CT is not so close to the action of NYC. CT may have issues, but it still retains the country New England appeal for money of NYC dwellers who don't ski & want to haul themselves up to NH, VT, or Maine.

Indeed Connecticut has now a lack of significant culture and old money to anywhere near where it could have been, probably less than 3% at its highest in modern times, from where it could have been closer to 8-9% generationally financially significant neighborhoods. with another 7-9% of all statewide neighborhoods, being permanent high middle class.. for instance... north end (FORMER jewish led) Hartford, Manchester with all it's textile wealth and proximity to the city, and practically every single coastal City in the state therefore. NO coast line city should have lower than 100,000K$ household, combined income Neighborhoods EVER. it destroys the scenery and the dynamic of the luxury of proper coastline property. Connecticut, Rhode Island mostly, and Massachusetts besides Boston, and 4-5 greater Boston areas, were CLEANED OUT by democratic low income policy and catering to lower income life which suffocated the rich from staying in many many areas, and therefore giving way to what would have been developments and gentrification, starting what would have been once again from the 1970's & on based on the markets and socio-historical trends and movements.
If I had that kind of $$$ stashed in a bank account, personally I'd much rather buy a piece of real estate in Southern France instead. Monaco would undoubtedly be a plus.
