Every time I hear that spincast reel ripping drag I think you got a tank on. 🤣 Either way it looked like a fun time catching them bass and crappie on it. That cajun canoe sure comes in handy at the pond. Great footage of the squirrels and Herron! Thanks for sharing James!
LOL, I keep that drag loose for dramatic effect. I have been thinking about getting another Jon boat for the pond, the pirogue is ok for one man - but the grandkids are starting to get the age they could go out with me.
that looks like it sucked pushing it in the water, looked like the frogs enjoyed it where it was 😂 Nice getting on a couple bass out there! That squirrel was mad...lol Cool shot of the blue Heron! Those were nice Crappie! I'm jealous..... can't seem to find any here! Good stuff James!
Those crappie will be turning on soon, it has been pretty slow on the pond since they lowered it- guess the fish have to get readjusted. That boat forms some kind of suction to the mud and it gets tough to push especially with the battery in it. I moved it away from the water after this video to clean it up a bit and let the mud dry out.....if it will
Water sure was low. Same in my neck of the woods. Can’t get in the boat just yet but was at the ramp the other day. Saw 2 larger boats launch and pick right back up. I think I can try it in a couple of weeks. The pond never lets you down. Peaceful.
I was thinking at first. With the water levels low the bass may be stacked up all in one area, but it was slow out there. Still nice to wet a line a few times from the kayak and the shoreline.
If they were in one area, I did not find that area- lol- I think that low level has them confused and looking for cover - I see small bass in 3 or 4 inches of water every evening feeding - the bigger fish are hard to find out there right now
That frog justed wanted to go fishing with you James LOL. Might have been slow, but you still managed to get on a few and loved the added wildlife footage. What is the reason for them letting the pond get so low? Nice job and hope you enjoyed your day!
I love it for pan fish, I bought 2 of them. I have been using 6lb line on it. The only complaint I have is after using it for a while, you will have some line twist - but I think that is inherent for any spincast reel. This Brutus is built pretty tough
Nicely done video James! Enjoyed it my friend! Thank you!
Thanks, i appreciate the visit
Aweaome trip! You saw a lot of cool variety of critters too.
@@DCOutdoors yes sir, I'm guessing that's why they coyotes hang out close by - thanks

So much wildlife. Glad you landed a couple of bass 💪🏻
I love just sitting out there by the water....at least until the mosquitos come out, then,, not so much
Cool video James!👍
Thanks Ted
Nice to see some kayaking and shore fishing mixed.
usually it means I did not catch enough fish for a video, so I had to improvise lol - thanks

They purposely lowered the pond for some reason, not sure why, but it seems to low to me - glad you are on the road to recovery
I still think that pirogue is a cool little boat! Gotta get out and do some fishing myself sometime, kids are keeping me busy though!
With 8 grandkids, I can relate - Hard to make time to get out there, my only advantage is the pond being so close.
You wonder if water levels that low can fully recover, but at least the fish continue to do what they do.
Yes sir, I wonder - and the fish seem to have lost their appetite, I am guessing because of the big change in water depth

Well, according to them, this is the "normal" level for the pond. But it seems awful shallow to me
Another great video James, how are you liking that kastking close faced reel I was thinking of getting one
