The sad story of one nation divided into two ! Lucky to see the old buildings and temple & got a glimpse of how people lived in those times. Hats off to the Anchor who recorded these & took us on a tour to our wonderful historical past but wonder how many buildings will survive in the future. It also enables our future generations of both the countries to understand each other better & respect each other. Such videos are a treasure of historical information for the future & more such videos should be made of all the old buildings and structures of pre-partition period of both the countries. My grandmother passed away in December 2022 ...she used to narrate her home in Ramtalai sialkot and how she had a friend whose name was shibha but after partition she was around 12 and had to come from Sialkot to Delhi. But shibha stayed back ...she used to miss her a lot ...I don't know of her friend is still alive and stayed there... thanks for this beautiful memory ❤️❤️❤️
Basically the partition’s aim was to make all the wealthy Hindus and Sikhs leave everything behind and run towards India while most of the Muslims on the Indian side remained wherever they were. Pakistan got all the wealth left by the Hindus and Sikhs plus the best fertile lands. Still they failed to make the most of it and got themselves and their country to their current state of affairs 🤦🏻♂

My mother was an infant born in Sialkot and migrated in 1947 in a bullock cart. What you see in Gandhi movie is accurate - 20 Million Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims migrated. It is childish to literally guestimate numbers. I have met many Pakistanis in the US who had roots in UP - (Lucknow), Punjab, Gujarat and even South India. Suffering was equal on both sides. On the Indian side I would say 1947 caused most pain in Punjab and Bengal!
Thank you very much for this special Vedio of Sialkot. In 1944-47 I used to live in Sialkot at PALAY SHAH DA GATe and used to go to the temple you have shown in the vedio. The Ram TalI mander was our favourite place to go for experiencing calmness ,meditation and spiritual uplift.This mander used to very busy with thousands of people ,it used to look very beautiful and full of high energy.It brings tears in my eyes to see it in such a bad shape. May God bless all people who have visited this holy place.

Tulsi plant also is the same as having a cow. Tulsi keeps the bacteria, fungus, virus, germs, mosquitoes and the other insects away from our homes. Its leaves have immense medicinal and beauty properties. So every house has at least one of these plants. We wash the plant, water it with dedication everyday so that it is always green, lush and happy.

My friend wife belonged to Sialkot. She was telling us how they were enjoying life . She is no more now. Her husband recognized main houses. Thanks for sharing.
My maternal grandfather is from Sialkot ..His family used to livee near railway station. He tells us oftenly about his place ..I don't remember the exact location . whenever I will visit him ,would ask him sure more about his place and show him this video , May be he will be able to collect some more memories and will update you again. The first Mandir you showed... I think it's written Shri Sanatan Dharm Sabha Lal Mandir. This Lal Mandir was later built in Delhi by the people who left Sialkot, and shifted to Delhi. It has got very similar architecture and and similar writings on its entrance. I can share the pics of the temple now in Delhi, i can share with Media Top.
I'm also crazy about such old historical structure. For me to see them like a time travel. If I have a budget I would love to purchase such structures to reinstate them to their original old shape to preserve history. But unfortunately it's looks impossible. I spent a lot of time to visit such places. But in busy life schedule now your vlogs are only way to fulfill my passion. Hope to meet you sometime when you come to Sialkot again. Great Work. My home was made in same structure as shown in this video in my home town in India. Same as xerox copy my old home was as home seen in this video. But now as it got very old we sold it out an shifted to other city. I think my ancestors were living in sailkot because same architecture home was shown in this video.
It's very painful to see such deserted Hindu Buildings, same is the case with our great parents who had to leave their own buildings at Dacca & came to Kolkata as ordinary persons. Hope such tragedy never gets repeated in future.

My grandmother passed away in December 2022 ...she used to narrate her home in Ramtalai sialkot and how she had a friend whose name was shibha but after partition she was around 12 and had to come from Sialkot to Delhi. But shibha stayed back ...she used to miss her a lot ...I don't know of her friend is still alive and stayed there... thanks for this beautiful memory ❤️❤️❤️
Basically the partition’s aim was to make all the wealthy Hindus and Sikhs leave everything behind and run towards India while most of the Muslims on the Indian side remained wherever they were. Pakistan got all the wealth left by the Hindus and Sikhs plus the best fertile lands. Still they failed to make the most of it and got themselves and their country to their current state of affairs 🤦🏻♂

My mother was an infant born in Sialkot and migrated in 1947 in a bullock cart. What you see in Gandhi movie is accurate - 20 Million Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims migrated. It is childish to literally guestimate numbers. I have met many Pakistanis in the US who had roots in UP - (Lucknow), Punjab, Gujarat and even South India. Suffering was equal on both sides. On the Indian side I would say 1947 caused most pain in Punjab and Bengal!

The Ram TalI mander was our favourite place to go for experiencing calmness ,meditation and spiritual uplift.This mander used to very busy with thousands of people ,it used to look very beautiful and full of high energy.It brings tears in my eyes to see it in such a bad shape.

Watching this vedio , in pakistan shiyalkot before 1947 there is a lot of hindu community specially sikh , it is the moment for me to say that my grandfather working in karachi at 1920 in a icecream factory then after cold drink factory under EAST INDIA COMPANY. they told us about the old days that how can they live there.

My maternal grandfather is from Sialkot ..His family used to livee near railway station. He tells us oftenly about his place ..I don't remember the exact location .
whenever I will visit him ,would ask him sure more about his place and show him this video , May be he will be able to collect some more memories and will update you again.
But Nana ji have some memory loss issues , not fully but thoda thoda kbi kbi bhul jate hi wo ..due to his ailing age..

Lal Mandir. This Lal Mandir was later built in Delhi by the people who left Sialkot, and shifted to Delhi. It has got very similar architecture and and similar writings on its entrance. I can share the pics of the temple now in Delhi, i can share with Media Top.

My home was made in same structure as shown in this video in my home town in India. Same as xerox copy my old home was as home seen in this video. But now as it got very old we sold it out an shifted to other city. I think my ancestors were living in sailkot because same architecture home was shown in this video.
