I am still astounded by the fact that Africa is so little present at the BRICS summits. While its economic independence, a guarantee of its future prosperity, consists in embracing the values ​​of the BRICS: political sovereignty, use of national currencies...etc.
I have the impression that African leaders have a slave mentality deeply rooted in them. They don't want to abandon their western masters. Even if it means keeping their people in misery and/or submission.

After living over 30 years in the West before returning to the motherland where I was born, I can tell you this: the biggest advantage the West has over Africa-and maybe the whole Global South-is its control over media.
Since the 1960s, Western media has created a whole imagined reality, a picture of “freedom,” “democracy,” and the “rule of law” that doesn’t actually match reality. We’ve been sold a version of life that hides the real story. While we were shown these idealized images, the West took resources from our lands, leaving us with empty promises.
The power of this media influence runs deep, shaping how we view ourselves and our countries. Imagine if we broke free from these illusions and started telling our own stories, building our own vision of progress. It’s time to reclaim our narrative, see through the propaganda, and focus on creating true prosperity on our own terms.
