The broth is like GOLD. As far as I'm concerned, the most valuable skill you showed folks was how to get that beautiful broth from a pressure cooker and can it, like my Granny did. She bought me pressure canner for a wedding gift in 1985.
It makes the best gravy too. Ham gravy is my favorite
Yes, broth is gold. Bones of any kind will make an amazing broth, base for so many meals.
GIRL!!!!! I have binged watched you and I have to say out of everyone I have watched trying to do freezer meals and cheaper meals you are by far the realest person. Your meals are actually “normal” you give the recipe you use and one thing I have learned from you is I can use less meat and still be full thank you so much I love watching you
Agreed 👍
So true
Split pea and ham soup is on the top of my list!!
I was told by my mom who grew up in Missouri. To put a small amount of vinegar in when you are making to broth. It breaks down the bones and makes any meat, true bone broth. Hope that helps. You did great with your ham.
My family loves leftover ham and spinach quiche. Without crust. 1 pkg frozen spinach, 1 finely chopped onion microwave for 10 minutes. Squeeze out the liquid. Set aside. In a large bowl wisk 8 to 10 eggs, salt and pepper to taste, 1 and 1 half cups shredded Cheese, of you choose and 1 lb chopped ham and about a tablespoon of Texas Pete. Mix in spinach and onions. Pour into a 9 by 13 greased casserole and top with 1/2 cup shredded cheese. Bake at 350 for 45 to 50 minutes.
I never knew you could start out cold to can. I just love the efforts you put in for your family. I also love how you waste absolutely nothing.
I purchase a spiral ham when they do on sale once a year. I cut all the meat I can off the bone. I package it in quart size freezer bags or vacuum sealer as slices and diced. I use the packages to make quiche, sandwiches, scrambled eggs, add to Mac n cheese, soup, homemade hot pockets, scallop potatoes with ham, add to green beans and so many other meals. The bone gets used to make a pot of beans which I freeze portions future meals. There is so much as you showed to do with a ham. Thanks for the video. It was another great one.
just last night I made what I'm calling thanksgiving casserole. leftovers used were turkey, baby carrots, onions, fresh mushrooms, dried cranberries, gravy and rhodes rolls dough. non leftovers used were fresh spinach, rice and cream of chicken soup. everything was mixed together and put in a deep casserole dish, then the dough was flattened and stretched out over the top. baked in oven at 350 for about 20 minutes. it was so delicious!
Sounds delicious!!😊
An idea for the ham broth is tater dumplings. Cook potatoes in the ham broth like you were going to make a potato soup. Make dumplings like you would for chicken and dumplings. Put your dumplings in when your potatoes are fork tender and cook on medium low until the dumplings are cooked. You can add some of the shredded/diced ham if you have some but it will still be delicious with just the broth, potatoes and dumplings. I serve it with a hot pan of cornbread. Cheap, filling and it makes a ton.
Sounds delicious 😋
A piece of leftover ham or chicken on a sandwich is so much cheaper than lunchmeat. That stuff is outrageously expensive! I do this for the kids lunches.
And it’s much healthier for you too!
So many people can learn so much from you and these videos. Especially in this hard times with the grocery inflation. You definitely get every possible use out of ever bit of the product you buy. It’s nice to see I’m not the only one. Most people would just throw out that ham bone and not think twice about it.
I love when your boys do the taste tests for you. They’re adorable!
I set here with my jaw dropped, I was completely amazed at how many dinners you made, then I told my honey what you did and he said 55 meals for $16? I said yes. He was much impressed!!! I'm still shocked.
This is so helpful. I'm using up my delayed Christmas ham and needed ideas. Other than using some as a pizza topping and using some in a cheesy ham and rice bake, I wasn't sure what else I was going to do, but now I have some other things I can try.
I cannot begin to tell you how much I admire you and although I am old and thought I knew a lot, I have learned so much from you!!!! I’m literally glued to your channel…. So tired of all the fancy food excesses I’ve been watching for years…..you are such a blessing to the world!!! Thanks so much!! ❤
I absolutely love the fact that you showed us how to make the canned soup! I’ve been wanting to learn how to can food for years. You made it so easy for me to understand! Thank you!!! ❤❤❤
Your beans and ham juice look gorgeous great job Mrs Brooke
My ex wouldn't have put the whole crackpot in the fridge, he would have left the ham on the counter to spoil! Been there, done that. 🤦🏼♀️ You sure know how to use up food. Kudos to you! ❤🙏
Little House on the Prairie in the background!! LOVE IT ❤️
You have so many great recipes. You are a true money saving frugal Mom and wife!! Thank you for all your hard work. God bless🙏🙏💖🤗
When I have an abundance of leftover ham I put about a cup of the diced ham in a few little baggies for tossing in eggs or other dishes.
Love to use a ham bone to make navy bean soup. SO good. So many great ideas today!
I just wanted to share that I got a package of egg roll wrappers for my Thanksgiving leftovers last year. I rolled a little turkey, ham, stuffing, green beans, and some cranberries then fried the egg rolls and dipped them in warmed gravy and they were so good! None of my leftovers went to waste; everybody loved them! Will be doing this again for sure. Love your channel!!!
You can also use ham in a breakfast casserole ( save about a cup of chopped ham or sausage) makes up a nice size casserole for Christmas morning. Then all you have to do is place it covered in refrigerator for Christmas morning. It is like a savory bread pudding. Make up a package of blueberry muffins and add some fresh fruit. We even have this for dinner at times. My recipe has sandwich bread, cheddar cheese, eggs, green onions chopped, milk, S&P, ground mustard ( or a tsp of Dijon prepared mustard can be substituted), and either diced ham or cooked breakfast sausage in it. Cover and store over night in refrigerator. Uncover next morning and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until done. If using a glass casserole dish, start it off in a cold over. So nice to come home to on a busy night or have on a special holiday for breakfast or brunch. Great with homemade cinnamon rolls, muffins, fresh asparagus as a vegetable to go with it, and fresh fruit with a sweet dip and juice of some kind. If there happens to be leftovers you can cut it to fit inside flour tortillas add a little more cheese and roll up individually for breakfast tortillas.
Brooke I paid $34 for my ham this Thanksgiving you can bet every last bit of it will be used up or froze. I have 6 ham bones in my freezer because Aldi had hams for .87 cents a pound I bought for Easter and froze them every couple of months I pull one out and cook it up and if we get tired of eating ham I chop up what's left and freeze it for scrambled eggs with ham or Mac n cheese with ham or bean soup and I use a bone with extra meat on it. Loved this vlog Brooke.
Brooke, I loved this video! So inspiring! I love how you showed the canning step by step and explained it, for those of us that don't know about it! You're the Jedi master of making something from nothing! Have a happy holiday ❤
OMG, You can totally use leftover ham to make homemade ham and cheese Hotpockets. Get a can of large biscuits, roll them out a bit, fill them up and baste them in a 350* oven until golden brown.....DEELISH ! LOVE YOUR VIDEOS AND CHANNEL. PEACE AND BLESSINGS 🙏
I can’t wait to make potato ham soup! Genius! I have a ham I cooked this weekend
Bravo Brooke you put your 🧝♀️ into it as always
So I have recently discovered your channel and I love it! I’ve been binge watching when I’m off work. Thank you so much for showing the canning process! ❤
Love your content. I’m originally from Tennessee and watching your channel brings me home. The memories of being in my grandmas kitchen come flooding back. I guess I’m just a little sentimental tonight and missing her. Thanks Brooke for sharing.
I hear Little House in the background ❤❤❤
One of our favorite ways to use leftover ham is to fry it up for breakfast. We usually do this at least twice. I also make breakfast bowls/burritos quite often and when we have ham, we will add that as our meat instead of bacon/sausage.
Another option is to freeze the leftover ham. I usually freeze in meal sized portions. I do this when I just don't have the time to can or if we are just tired of ham..lol.
Hello Pretty, Beautiful Brooke.
When it comes to cooking for your family, you have it all under control.
Hello to, Dusty, Ryder, Braiden, and Kylan.

You are the Queen of leftovers!! Thank you so much for sharing your ideas
Good options. I take leftover ham with sliced potatoes, Velveeta, a little sour cream, and seasonings. Bake in a 9x13 until the potatoes are done.
We had ham for breakfast the next couple of days, with fried eggs. I think a potatoe soup with ham, yummy! Thanks for all your wonderful ideas!
I used Christmas ham to make a pot of Navy Beans. They were delicious!!
Your videos are super helpful! Thank you!
You do an amazing job stretching food and making meals for your family! I love your creativity.
Watching you canning and hearing Little House playing in the background is just perfect!
I make very similar potato soup bc i keep majority pantry/frozen items to avoid food waste. I use cream of chicken(or cream of bacon), freeze dried hashbrowns, spam, whatever frozen veg, and water to make a quick and easy potato soup that my son just loves
Omg I love this video!!! I have a canner and have used it some but I would love to learn more. Could you do a video just on canning? I have recently watched a lot of your content. You are unapologetically you!!! It is so freshing to see!! Its empowering with no judgment!!Thanks for all the amazing ideas and knowledge!
Let's all help Brooke. Let the ads play during her videos. As always ur friend from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
I love those hashbrowns, but I never thought to use in soup...I use cream cheese also and half cup of sour cream and some grated cheddar cheese....
Your a great cook !
Haha Dusty putting the whole dang crockpot in the fridge is definitely a manly man thing. 😂
You are my comfort videos. Much love sweetie. I would love to call myself your number one fan but I know we are all crazy about your videos 😊
i always use the ham bone for bean soup...yummmmm
Girl after my own heart. Great job Brooke
A tip I've used many times to make your eggs fluffier and more fulfilling and to stretch further is for every 4 large eggs add 1/2 cup of cottage cheese.
Damn Hamageddon at your house!😂😂😂👍 Everyting looked tasty too❤❤❤👍😎
I'm watching this video at Easter. One of my left over ham meals will be pineapple and ham pizza. Also doing potato, ham and cheese soup soup. Bean soup, scalloped potatoes and ham. I will be freezing the left over meat and the bone.
Wow Brooke, they look delicious. Thank you for sharing and showing us had to make them.
I LOVE ham salad!
Just cut up my ham and had 6 bags for beans using the both for black eyed peas and potatoes tomorrow put the bone in the freezer for pinto beans another day I need to start canning more often
He did what you asked him to do! 😂 You know you have to be specific when you tell a male what to do.
Fantastic video I loved every minute of it.
This is great for when ham goes on sale at random times.

Great job with that ham and all those ways to use it up. Perfect.
Excellent!
Ham salad yummo
Your ham and potatoe soup looks so yummy
I love your personality. Very refreshing.
We did that w a turkey in June once or twice. Lifted the skin and added butter and spices onion garlic Italian spices then on skin also baked it served w potato salad or bean salad. Great for sandwiches and salads during the hot summer and other stuff also….you know when it’s a good sale you do it…..lol….don’t do a 12 lb turkey go bigger and make those left overs work for you turkey tetrazzini, turkey soup and turkey pot pie or freeze the meat for another time….
Brooke have you ever made ham dumplings? Just make like chicken dumplings. Mom always added a couple sliced boiled eggs at the end. So good!!!
Yummy ham and bean soup is my favorite, thank you for showing how to do the ham broth with pressure cooker. You always have such great ideas!!!
Hahaha 😂😂😂 I couldn't stop laughing your sweet husband put the whole crockpot in the fridge
Ham broth is cooking gold. PA Dutch native so I love PA Dutch style ham pot pie (no crust involved). But I also love to cook that ham bone with pinto beans….
Yummy meals!
Some great ideas on here. You are pretty creative in the kitchen! I fixed a ham on Sunday. I put the bone in the freezer for now, but I will be making broth from it and canning it. I will be fixing ham, egg and cheese omelets for supper later on this week with some of the leftovers. I forget about ham salad!! I may make up a batch of that also...but I will add some of my homemade sweet relish that I made and canned this year and some hard-boiled eggs. Once I get the broth made, I need to can up some of the ham and bean soup as well! Thanks for taking the time to do this video.
Amazing!
My gram use to do ham & egg 2 crusts pie, sliced boiled eggs 😊
Bravo !!! Looked so delish ! Happy Thanksgiving ! Brooke, Dusty + the boys!!
This was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you!
What a pocketbook sandwich
You gave me alot of good ideas with Easter coming up and having left over ham.
Great video!!! I love leftover ham!!! Here’s another idea for leftover ham make westerns out of it that’s probably my favorite way to use leftover ham! Have you ever tried your ham salad with sweet relish in it that is so good❤
Girl I've already made quiche, beans with ham, ate sandwiches with our ham. I did vacuum seal some, cause I'm just tired of cooking with it. Gotta get some beef in my life today lol.
Yup, I feel this. This is on menu for tonight, no turkey or ham in sight 😂
Chicken tetrazzini is probably my family’s favorite meal. May have to try with leftover ham. I have to use up my leftover turkey for tetrazzini first😂. And I’m definitely making ham salad! I love it!
Good job 👏 you are so creative. Blessings and hugs!!
16:05 I really appreciated the step by step instructions regarding how to pressure can.. I have been scared to death to pressure can for fear of an explosion. Thanks for the tips..example I didn't know all the ingredients needed to be the same temperature..
I love your ingenious ideas! And soooo many eals! Impressive! Have a great day, Brooke!
I’m from Canada and visit my sister who lives in the Seattle area quite often. I don’t know how pigs are raised down south but America makes good pig! Not that Canadian porkers aren’t delicious but American squealers taste amazing! ❤️🇨🇦
When removing my jars from the canner I find it helpful to place a kitchen towel on my cookie sheet that have a small lip around it. That way I can safely move my jarsif they are in the way. It's important to not set hot jars on a cool or cold surface or they may crack 🤗
