Thanks so much Sylvia :-D yes the pollination was a fantastic success, but sadly the little seedlings got fungus and I lost them all, I would love to try again from seed, I sown some more Echeveria seeds last year and the same thing happened again, but I wont be giving up haha, thanks so much Sylvia for your wonderful comments and support and for watching, and Hans and I are sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER to Malta for a wonderful afternoon XXXX
@@desertplantsofavalon Hi Lyn, did you ever try cinnamon powder for the seedlings to prevent fungus? I have seen a couple of videos promoting cinnamon on the soil! Happy afternoon to you and Hans!
@@falzonp1 Hi Sylvia :-D yes I have been using cinnamon powder and also Hydrogen peroxide and with great success, I had a bit of fungus appear on my recent cactus seedlings that I sown in Spring and the cinnamon powder really helped, and the Hydrogen peroxide killed off the annoying little fungus fly larvae that eat up the roots too, XXXXX

How can you tell when the seeds are ready?
Hi Ravick :-D the seed pods will go brown and dry and the seeds will burst out of the dry pods when they are ready :-D Sending you an abundance of love and PLANT POWER from across the Emerald Isle for a FAB and FUN PLANT POWERED Friday XXXXX

How do you take the seeds from them?
Hi there :-D the seeds are very fine like pepper and when the seed pod is ready to harvest it will be dry and its best to harvest them into bowl by gently pressing the pods with the fingers and the seeds will come away easily :-D thanks so much for watching XXXX
How did your plants do? Any seeds? Thanks for the advice
Hi Sophie :-D thanks so much for asking, sadly I didn't get any seeds from this pollination but will try again this year
@@desertplantsofavalon thank you :) best of luck
your cactus are beautiful!, I have a bit of a question that I know is off point... I inherited a special baby yesterday and I don't know what it is. I wonder if you could help me...it is about an inch and a half at the bottom, it is flatish as it goes up, is med green and the most striking thing is its cute little leaves that come out at each spine about half way down from the top. I know it's a bit of a stretch, without seeing it, but do you have any ideas about what is may be? thanks ever so much❤

Desert Plants of Avalon thankyou ever so much!!😘
Desert Plants of Avalon when I find out what it is, I'll let you know💗
Desert Plants of Avalon it looks like it's a euphorbia trigona. The plant it came from is so sad and neglected, i had no idea what it really would look like healthy, but now I know and I'm excited to see it grow and exceed it's parents. I am going to attempt to obtain the parent plant. I hope that i can. It is at least 20 years old and I've watched it steadily go down hill...😭
Any update on the pollinations? Wondering if graptos are really self pollinating!
re no signs of pollination yet but I am keeping my fingers crossed haha :-) thanks so much for your fantastic comment and for watching and sending you an abundance of love and happiness and heaps of PLANT POWER from right across the Emerald Isle and have a WONDERFUL Wednesday today XXXX
