    I’ve been relaxed since I was little and I’m now 42. I went from relaxing every 6-8 weeks as a kid to every 16 weeks over the last two years. Since then I was was able to grow my hair to mid back.

      I stretch my relaxer every 5 to 6 months. It really grows out your hair very long. I use oils like black and original Castor oil, liquid vitamin E, Peppermint oil , rosemary oil mix it into coconut oil and oil my scalp every week. And shampoo it every week with moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.

      To tame my new growth I use Let's Jam Extra Hold. It has no alcohol in it. And yes it lays down the new growth. And it gives shine n moisture. Or ORS Professional olive oil hair lotion does good for keeping you edges from front , sides and back laid. My turns wavy . My new growth is always wavy. I have coarse thick wavy hair.

    I have just moisturized and sealed my new growth with the talia waajid for the 1st time in my life and my new growth has never been this soft. I can’t believe a product can make my hair feel like this. I am also goin to try scurl because of your recommendation but the smell of the talia is heavenly. I jus began my hair journey 2 weeks ago an I am using most of the products you recommend. They are not readily available in my country so I had to order them. I have never paid so much attention to my hair before so it’s quite a change but i am excited to go through this process to get to healthy relaxed hair and maybe have some length retention as well. My hair has never grown pass shoulder length and the ends have always been damaged..so wish me luck🤞🏾

      Girl same. When I had relaxed hair, after relaxing my hairdresser would put my hair in rollers and I would go under the dryer for like an hour. That won't fly anymore when I relax again after taking down my braids (virgin relaxer). I will be basing my scalp and basically telling the hairdresser what to do lol

    Great video as usual. I stretch on average 10 weeks, but still trying to figure out a formula to minimize breakage particularly on wash days. I have 4c, thin strands, dense hair..so have to really be careful with my weekly wash day manipulation. During the week, thanks to pandemic, I don't go out much, so it's pretty easy to moisturize and put it away. Lately, I have been using Keracare Humecto as a leave in...just a little..and yes I know its a conditioner...but it works for me. Then I follow up with Cantu Shea Butter and then seal with a concoction of oils: coconut, castor, olive etc. That will last me about 3 days before repeat.

    Val, I hope to meet you one day! You've changed how I see my relaxed hair; the way I take care of it and the hope I now have because I didn't understand how to care for my new growth. Due to that, it lead to a TON of breakage. Now, that I follow your advice and use most of your fav products. Ie: SO MUCH MOISTURE, game changer!!! I have smoother, softer and moisturized hair. I can retain length but BEST OF ALL ...minimal to NO BREAKAGE.😭😭😭 I'm so ready for this summer. My hair will be healthy!!!! Love ya girl!❤❤❤

    #1 reason I LOVE you and your videos is that you actually interact with your subbies by responding to their questions and/or comments. You may not get to them all but showing initiative makes me think you're not stuck up and just wanting to "show off". I've seen many, many UA-camrs who make hair videos to just shake and play in their hair while not talking about a damn thing! Then, to boot....they NEVER respond to their subbies. A huge no in my book! If you can take the time to make the content, you can take the time to at LEAST be cordial.
    Anywho, I've been following you since day one and I'm still here (though I've had to change my name a few times....lol) but your content is relatable and usable. I've got my hair to bra strap using your techniques. Love, love love your videos. Stay blessed! ❤❤

I part my hair in four, moisturize and seal, detangle w a wide tooth comb then use the Denman bush. Always start brushing each section at the ends!! I get beautiful moisturized results w out using a ton of product. Another tool that helps my stretch is baggying. Whenever I don't feel like moisturizing and sealing, I just mist w water, comb it into a bun, tie it down w a silk scarf and then throw on a shower cap on top. I wake up w super moisturized hair w out the work of moisturizing and sealing! I baggy about 3 times a week w out product. It definitely helps minimize breakage.

    Hi hairlicious! Thank you for this video. You've really helped me with my relaxed healthy hair journey.
    But please can we use this method for low porosity hair without necessarily heating the products in hot water? I have a low porosity hair and I often hear that low porosity hair thrives on heat.
    As a result, will new growths from a low porosity hair thrive if we use this method without heat?
    Thank you!

    • @HairliciousInc
      @HairliciousInc  3 роки тому +1

      Absolutely! But I wouldn’t suggest using heat after you’ve applied your moisturizer. To ensure the moisturizer penetrates you may want to apply a plastic conditioning cap and baggy your hair afterwards. Details on this are on my blog (www.HairliciousInc.com).

Especially while stretching since for many of us, the majority of our hairs life cycle is spent stretching rather than being recently relaxed.
