    Hi! I am learning so much from watching your videos! I recently relaxed my hair after being natural for 6 years and this channel has been my new guide to healthy relaxed hair. I did your loose waves last night w my flat irons and pin curled them before bed to keep my bounce and body. Thank you thank you for your amazing content and tips.❤❤

      If you don’t plan to relax again soon definitely keep your hair in protective styles. With that much new growth your hair will start to break off. This was just a one week west for me & I put my hair back into braids after

    Been loving your videos lately. I went back to relaxed after a 2 year break and your videos have been super informative. I wanted to ask you: do you work out? If so, how to you manage frizz and whatnot (especially when the new growth comes in)?

      Hi! So happy to help 🤗 I do workout but I don’t sweat much in the head & I wear my hair in braids most of the summer so it’s not really an issue. If I am wearing my hair out like this I keep my hair wrapped while I workout (I workout at home mostly) or I will put it up in a claw clip & wear a sweat band. In the fall & winter when i do wear my hair out I do low impact workouts aka I won’t sweat much if at all like Pilates & then on wash day I do my heavy cardio stuff cause I’m going to wash it later anyways. Hope that helps! ❤️

    I tried stretching for like 8/9 months and the breakage from it was devastating
    I kept everything the same far as wash days and products but the breakage won
    I’m back to me regular 8-10 wk stretch now

    • @NiaraAlexis
      @NiaraAlexis  Рік тому +1

      The breakage can be real the farther out your get. That’s why once I hit 5 months or so I put my hair up in protective styles. It’s usually around the summer time (which is perfect for me) so I just keep stretching it until fall. But yes I feel you the 2 textures are hard to manage which is why I just put it away. It’s also a nice little rest too with no heat/manipulation

    how can i handle new growth if i never do protective styling? I always use heatless curls but when it has grown it is difficult to untangle on washing days

    • @NiaraAlexis
      @NiaraAlexis  Рік тому

      There really isn’t a way. I don’t recommend stretching your relaxer longer than 4 month if you don’t plan to do protective styles. Otherwise your hair will be very hard to detangle and will eventually start to break off

      @@NiaraAlexis once a week? I'm so paranoid about heat 😩 but seeing how strong and thick your hair still is, I guess it's okay for some people. Since I have thick hair too, it might work for me. But I'm too lazy for that lol plus it burns. I'll definitely try curling my hair next time with the iron though as flat ironed hair looks so flat on me
