In this Pro Tips 4U sports training football video, Rashied Davis talks about playing “Gunner” on special teams. You'll learn the role of the “gunner,” what is a balanced stance, how to distribute weight without tipping off the defender, stacking the defender to promote an illegal block in the back and the importance of releasing down the line of scrimmage.
Rashied's pro career started with the SaberCats of the Arena Football League as an undrafted free agent in 2002 following his collegiate career at San José State. He won two Arena Bowl championships with the SabreCats. In addition to the Lions, Rashied has also played for the Chicago Bears. In his NFL career, he has caught 92 passes for 1,095 yards and five touchdowns.
Rashied's instructional football videos for Pro Tips 4U focus on common drills he does to improve his skills at the wide receiver position. Rashied's tips include how to catch the ball properly, the "box" drill, the "M" drill and a special video on how to play the gunner position on special teams.
