Let's see make a jump. So bully drill. Some people call this shotgun shed some people call it long strike, we named it the bully drill. Okay, this is when we do have to take on a blocker. Obviously the other teams were playing or coach guys, there won't be in position, at times our speeds go and try to knock it out. But if they get in position, we want to bully the guy. So here's a great drill that we start off, this is not running, we are starting fit, look at number 23 on the right side of the screen, he's going to start in a fifth position on the blocker. We have determined we cannot run past this guy with speed because the kick returner is too close and he'll cut off of us. So now we say we need to bully this guy we are not to gap and you understand me, we are not to gap in this wide base looking around. We are running right through his chest with very tight bass tight elbows, thumbs up and running him backwards, creating an extension from low to high and then peeking one way or the other and disengaging to the block. So watch 23 On the right, he's going to be fit up. Starting fit up. You can start this back eventually and run into it guys. But I want to teach this one thing you got to know the guys holding the bags have got to give a little bit. You're not sitting there fighting him. Because in a game this number 23. He's going to be running down the field already. He's going to have much more momentum. He's not running into a standstill wall. So the guy on the bag has got to give a little bit so that we can extend our arms and face so not bad by 23. There his hands are above his eyes. We're in position he peeks one way while he's peeking. We are running. We are running down the field while he's peeking. Ball care is not there. He's obviously on the other side. Violent disengaged. And now here's where I want to tackle the ball. That's a starting running back for us. This is what I want the most of in all you guys I would suggest getting these donuts, given your guys a chance to tackle a take a quick peek on the left here number 83 doing the drill that's a wide receiver for us. So two offensive guys that never tackle, right. We've got to find time in our drills to get them shooting their shot, get comfortable going to the ground, hitting something. Okay, so let's look at 23 on the set attack call from our running back coach in the middle. We're driving our hands I want to narrow base. You can see 20 threes base. Next is yoga man foot to foot, right? They're critical that they don't go why you'll slow down, you won't win. Okay, pigs, there's the violent disengaged, let's watch 83 on the left. Not quite as violent. The guy on the bag is fighting him a lot more. I don't love that. But you see his hands aren't as high. His eyes and his hands are at the same level. I don't love it. Get your hands extended. So I'm in control, get him above your eyes get a narrow base, which is pretty good. There's the peek, there's the ball, ball carriers going get him in on the tackle. We do teach near foot near shoulder here. So that ought to be a right shoulder tackle for him. I'd like to see his other foot getting the ground. So two offensive guys that can do it for us. There's another view for it. You'll see coaches standing there guys, we got 1234 We got four coaches, four coaches and three gas' doing that and I say that because it means we deem these guys can help they want to do it they're good coaches. If you don't have four or five guys that can help do one station and make sure it's coached perfect understand me Do not just say well temple did two drills guys we need a bunch of guys going No Don't waste your time just getting a bunch of reps if they're no good. Okay, so you got a coach in there in the gray that's pushing that guy I don't want any false steps I'm going forward on this not bad by 11 Now you can see the guy in front of 11 hands are no good can't see that you can see the guy's whole head I don't like it. Get them up there. Get him up there defensive guys here so they're a little bit more aggressive on the bag let's look at the guy on the right I do like his hands see that hands above his eyes very narrow base we're still sprinting look at that he's still gaining ground boom no bag bags the other way very aggressive through the tackle a very important that we get that aggression through the bag you got to find guys that can tack on your coverage units man don't just assume they're a tough kid or want to is there we got to get the ball on the ground.
