nice job on the box. It would have been useful if you mentioned or linked to the specific box and foam that you used.

Next weekend project for sure! Awesome content. Those Wera Allen Tool set I won from the giveaway you did are great.

Nice tool kit, good layout too, looks quite efficient
As a mechanic I'm always refining what I call my common tool kit, the basics to service most bikes and we've all got our own preference on what brand of tools to use

Awesome. I got one of those myself. It's a huge investment, but its so worth it and keeps me organized when I'm traveling.

Hey Jon, really nice tool kit. Contact cement is the adhesive of choice to fasten your plastic to the foam.

Well, I got started by doing a search for the foam but that is as far as it's going to go. This stuff is far to expensive for it's purpose. I'll just keep digging through the toolbox as I always have.

Jon, who is your "trusted" source to replacement parts? I'm talking about chains, cassettes, etc. With chains, for example, counterfeit items pop up routinely and, advertised as it they are authentic Shimano products. Amazon? Local bike shop? Thanks

Sick. Never thought about putting it in a smaller box like...mine is just in a massive toolbox all mixed up etc

Would be nice to have a list of all those tools you have because tbh unless you know what's good quality at the time they just don't make good quality items anymore. Pretty much every tool kit I've bought off Amazon has stripped out or broke on me.

This is excellent! Excellent idea, design, organization, ...

I think one positive aspect, you did not mention (forgive, me if you did) about this kind of toolbox is that when someone borrows your tool and forgets to return it, you will easily detect a missing tool. And also I do not think epoxy would be a solution for glueing that back plate there, instead use something very flexible, but strong.

Hey, Jon love your videos. was wondering if you could do a video about pacing the climb up mount Lemmon based on a percentage of FTP. I just found out I may be in phoenix at the end of the month or beginning of May. I would love to drive down and try the climb if I have time. My FTP is no were near yours but was inspired to try the climb after watching your videos. Cheers from Winnipeg.

Hi John, nice setup! I'm working on a similar project but struggling to find a good type of thin plastic sheet like you used. Do you have a link for the kind you bought on Amazon?

It's quite sad that they charge an arm and a leg for just foam. It's a machine that just sprays liquid that solidifies, and boom. Foam should not be expensive at all. I'd get it if they had precut sheets that were just perfect, but these are just sheets that you personally have to go to town on. I have no issue doing stuff like that myself, I just dislike feeling like I paid someone to do it, and he/she went AWOHL on me.
The other thing is I live abroad, so I have to pay shipping, and VAT and extra tax and it's just going to become too expensive. Nobody in my country make stuff like that, and it would be nice to just be able to pick it up at a local hardware store instead.
They are light, but the shipping price will go up because of the size. That will then increase the total, which means the VAT and extra tax will increase as well.

Looks heavy to carry around. Most people would just do their bike maintenance at home so have no need for this case setup.
