    After you put new oil, run the engine for quick second and check the oil level again after, top up if needed more.

    Great video thinking of purchasing a Ford transit for my side hustle, the 3.7 V6 is a strong engine Ford used it for many years on their V6 Mustang maintenance is important.

    Thanks, I like the tips:
    1. Tilting Vehicle
    2. Oil Cap as Reference for which Type
    3. Wrench Size Consistency re: 15mm ford
    4. Drip Pan Ref where, how much
    5. Ultimate, Synthetic Conventional Oil Type Discussion
    6. 5.5 vs 5 Quarts Quantity
    7. User Manual Reference
    8. Pricing and Source Reference for oil
    9. Vehicle Use (high mileage) and engine change
    Follow up question:
    1. How did, and what was it like to change engine? Reference, source of replacement engine, removing, etc.
    Thanks

      Thank you for the great comment. I'm not advanced enough to change the engine myself, so I found a mechanic that I trust, plan b was go to the dealership. Most of the parts when you're rebuilding the vehicle you can find on the website www.car-part.com/mobile/
      So I found an engine closest to me with the lowest mileage, you could use different criterias and that's pretty much it

      Well, that's number one site for any used parts in the country. Not just engines.

    15:23 I usually take some of the new oil and use my fingertip to lube the rubber gasket on the new filter.

    • @VasylGladun
      @VasylGladun  Рік тому

      Oil on the gasket does not go back in the engine so it doesn't really matter what you use, as long as you do use whatever you feel more comfortable with otherwise it can be very challenging to unscrew oil filter with dry gasket

    Use a 5 gal bucket.
    Take a garbage bag and put a small hole on the bottom of the bag.
    Attach 3 quarters of the top of the bag covering the ooil pan leaving the drain bolt accessible. One hand will remove the bolt and the other hand will hold the open lip part of the bag. You can leave a strainer over the hole in the bottom of the bag to catch the bolt or or the hand that holding the bag.
    If the bag is large enough to sit in the bucket and cover the pan no need for a hole. Otherwise one bag to cover the pan with a hole and a second bag to sit in the bucket. Or if the do t mind an oily bucket skip the bags and don’t forget the lid and of course you’ll have to cut the bucket down to high if you can’t angle a 5 gal bucket in there lol

    I got the same van and after watching your video im confident I can change the oil and filter on it but I like to ask you something does this van have a timing belt on a chain belt ???

      @VasylGladun  Рік тому +1

      I'm not sure. I know it lasted me 400K without causing a problem. My problem was leaking head gasket and repair cast was as much as just replacing the engine so I replaced the engine instead of repair.

    we should not heat up or run the engine before checking?
    should we check engine oil with running engine or shutdown ? always confused about that?

    • @VasylGladun
      @VasylGladun  7 місяців тому

      While vehicle is running you supposed to check transmission fluid, if your car has a dip stick for that, a lot of new cars don't have it. Motor oil you always check when engine is off and wait a few minutes to let of the oil drain to the bottom of the pan.

    How do you reset the oil life, no sure about how to make it.

    • @VasylGladun
      @VasylGladun  Рік тому +1

      Turn ignition on, but don't start the vehicle. Push gas and brake pedals at the same time, hold until you see message "oil reset in progress", on some models you will see oil icon blinking. Hold until you see message "oil reset complete". On 2015 Ford Transit reset is good for 10K miles.

    Where is the transmission oil stick?

    • @VasylGladun
      @VasylGladun  Рік тому

      It doesn't exist, maybe I'm mistaken, but on the newer Fords you can't check transmission oil level or add some for that matter. Dealer is using some fancy pressure machine to suck the old oil out and pump it with new one.

    • @tteuvky
      @tteuvky 7 місяців тому

      there is dipstick for transmission also, but you have to access from under the vehicle and unbolt one bolt of 19mm located outside of transmission than you can check the level.
