Solar rechargeable lights work great
I would build a deck to set it on and I'd also build a deck on the inside covering half the floor. Giving you even more storage at the cost of some head room above your bed
Just subscribed! Can’t wait to see how you build out your Tusca… we should have some videos out soon of how we’re building ours, which is mounted to a 5x8 trailer.
I would add a 200 watt solar panel a deep cycle or lithium battery and a 1000 or 1500 watt inverter
TUSCA heat - 2 or so extra blankets. Cool - Bluetti powered box fan. I think it'd be a death wish to operate any type of flame based heating system. Last thing you want is to wake up dead from carbon monoxide. 🙂
I started using the Amazon basics brand of batteries for all my trail cams. You can get a 48 pack for $15. I won’t say they last as long as the Duracells, but I think they’re definitely better bang for the buck. I’ve had good luck with them, you should try them in 1-2 spots where you know how your other batteries have done historically
Oh yeah I use them alot. Just needed some that day.
2x4s are overkill for such a small platform. Either rip them in half or buy 2x3 lumber. Then 1/2 plywood or 3/8 plywood with a 1/4 luan veneer for smoothness. Then add Amazon memory foam mattress or similar. For heat Mr buddy heater and for cooling a 12volt max air rooftop fan.
Also always have a carbon monoxide detector if using propane or diesel heat
Thanks man I appreciate it
@@beforetheecho you could possibly hinge the bed platform at the front for easier access to your storage if there's a sufficient area in the camper shell to mount it. I have went through the process of 5th wheelcamper, truck camper, pop up camper and am now onto a GMC van that can quickly switch between kid hauler and one man camper for hunting out west
lol may have convinced my wife into letting me buy one
First thing I would add is a set of wheels\caster just for mobility. You could then carry a set of ramps roll it out leave it at Basecamp…
Ugh... i want one of these so bad.... but the price for what it is.......... 😢
Build a drawer system in the frame that the shell sets on. This will let you maximize the storage and access to the items. Wear your headlamp for light. A small propane heater with an open window will keep you warm or increase your generator/battery system and run a small electric heater. For being cool, open the window and put a small battery-powered fan near you. Ge a cheap mattress or inflatable camping mattress. You might also get one of those leg bolsters to allow you to lay your upper back and head on at an angle up so you can work and put it under your legs when you sleep at night. Remember, its a basic shell not a fancy camper. Keep it that way.
I have an offgrid cabin. Would love to see more ideas how you use battery powered stuff. I use a lot USB rechargeable stuff like lights, pack chargers, water pump.
diesel heaters are awesome for that. Gonna be a sweet rig
Storage shelf on the angled part over your head would be huge!
I would have a longer- term plan to rig a tent-like sfructure off the back for dressing/ undressing, cooking and gear storage. Throw some indoor/ outdoor carpet down. Buddy heater along w/LP cooktop. Solar power as much as you need. You can run a 120v plug from your inverter for laptop. Use 2(two) 6v wheelchair/golf cart batteries in series. Cooling is going to be an issue. Good luck.
Make an adjustable backrest if you're gonna be on computer or reading just to be more comfortable. Fold up or down and you just sleep on it as part of bed
I just saw these last night on a review I think they are gunna be handy can’t wait to see how it turns out
Josh the heat is easy ,,one or two heating pads in that small area should work great ,,your need will be a power source that can be charged as you drive
Saw some rechargeable rope lights on Amazon for $14.
Hey Josh being that you going to experience extreme heat and cold at times I would rig some kind of power ventilation that runs off a battery.
Emerson Quiet Kool 1499-BTU DOE (110-Volt) Black Vented Portable Air Conditioner Cools 100-sq ft costs under 400 from lowes
That’s sweet.
They make small pellet heaters thst would work perfect for that
Hmmm I'll have to look at that. It is made of foam so heat makes me a little nervous 😂
@@beforetheecho yeah, I wouldn't want it right up against the wall 🤣. But I have seen a people use them in campers.
How much that cost? I want one
They are just under 3k
@@beforetheecho jiminy Christmas. Regular topper it is haha, or minivan
I'm thinking the diesel heater would be most efficient, but only because it won't condense as much inside. Lp heat really is condensation issues. Electric is probably a good option to eliminate both... Depending on how cold of conditions. Wire in a boot dryer too
What's the matter little buddy?
probably teething
