  • @piorfino
    @piorfino 5 місяців тому +182

The strongest people are those who turn adversity into drive. The Bdubs' and Scar's of the world who are faced with such tremendous adversity and see it not as an obstacle but as a motivator to put as much good into the world as possible. It is beyond inspiring to me to see someone like Bdubs turn what for some would be the most devastating tragedy into a life defining mission to keep moving forward. I cannot express enough how grateful and lucky I am to have role models like Bdubs. @Skizz you said you are seeing a new side of Bdubs today and I want to challenge that a bit. I think the fire that this trauma instilled in him is very evident in every recording. I think it's clear that his passion and drive show through every time he sits down to make content. Now we just have the privilege to see the source of that passion.

I still remember when Bdubs posted the "Pray for BDubs" video about his daughter. I watched it immediately, and I cried almost throughout the entire thing. Listening to BDubs recount part of that story today brought back those memories (and some of those tears), and it serves as a good reminder to me of how the most tragic things we can go through can help to make us stronger if we just keep going and come out the other side. I especially loved today how he said that he didn't want the memory of his daughter to be the reason he quit doing this...
I've looked up to him and now I look up to him even more. Thank you Imp & Skizz for giving him somewhere to tell his story again.

This is my first Imp and Skizz Podcast to watch, but I'm so very glad I did. I'm a 46 year old woman who has felt lost my entire life. I'm single, no kids, and unable to work for a variety of reasons. But just at the end of last year I was finally given a solid diagnosis of ADHD, and put on ADHD meds for the first time in my life.
As my Mother has said, I just never found my feet, so to speak. But now I finally feel like maybe I can figure out what to do with my life.
I've also been a lifelong PC gamer. Or rather, lifelong if you consider I didn't have access to a computer until I was a teenager. 😅 Gaming has always been my escape from reality. I've done a bit of streaming and video making in the past. But now I'm trying to take up streaming more often. Dunno if I'll ever gain any kind of an audience, but it gives me something to do, and a platform to talk to people.
I guess what I'm saying is I can relate to so many of the things you guys talked about, especially as you're close to my age. I love all three of you guys, and have watched a lot of your content. But now I love all you guys even more. Thanks for sharing your stories, and giving someone like me some insight and inspiration for where I might want to take my own path. 💜

I remember when Bdubs posted the video about Miss Ivy. It was the first time I sob cried for someone I didn't really know. I knew intimately all the pain and loss, 7 years prior.. it's still difficult at times. I'm glad you didn't throw in the towel, bdubs. We strive to make our parents proud, until we have to make life successful to honor of our children. So their too short life wasn't in vain. ❤️ Great podcast guys. Much needed today.

As a creator who just finished their first “official” year as a UA-camr- this hits. Hard. Every word from Bdubs, Imp, and Skizz was like listening to the tape that’s been on a loop in my head for the past 12 months. And it just further increases my respect for creators that burn bright while not burning out. Thank you 3 for this episode, I look forward to more like it. Subscribed :)

Thank you Bdubs for the open and vulnerable discussion! Some people seem like they would rather die than actually just talk about what is real to their experience but I think it's so important especially in the social media world where it seems like everyone puts on a facade of the life highlight reel.

That fact that Bdubs brought up GenyB is amazing because half the time, I feel like the Hermits don't really acknowledge him at all. I am not sure what happened between the Hermits and him, but i'm really happy to hear that Bdubs still talks to him and such. Very cool.

I don't think anything really happened between them. Truth of the matter is, Genny left very early on in the real development of Hermitcraft. He set up the server, invited the other people who would lay the groundwork, and moved on to Mindcrack. The server was slightly in disarray, lots of people joining and leaving, and it was Xisuma who took that and made it into Hermitcraft as it is now. Most of the people from the GenerikB era have moved on from Hermitcraft, I believe you can count the active members from that era on one hand, so the Hermits just don't have much of a close connection to him in that way

Oh, and yes, I think anyone who is self-employed, tinkering about with entrepreneurship can relate to the "my brain doesn't stop" problem, and learning how to relax. I ran my own little company for a while and it never really was enough to pay the bills, but I still had to keep at it. I still can't relax, since I work contract work and I'm never sure when that will stop working and I get stuck with a few months that we have to live off of savings. It's just part of being a provider.

this episode has got to be top favorite so far. i got so pulled in with what value the entire discussion that transpired had, more than i expected to. it's almost 12 am right now in our contry and boy did this get me thinking so deep about life, my relationships with the people around me, and just what i've been doing.
i applaud the "finding a balance" part because it evidently shows in bdubs character how much it shaped him to become the admirable person he is to his family, friends, and community. like just wow.
moreover, (writing and editing this as i watch the episode, sorry) i'm just so awestruck how honest and vulnerable this episode was. i did not know this much information about bdubs an hour ago, and it truly made me respect him more than i already do. the way he has traversed life until now, obviously not without hardship, is so inspiring. how can a man be this strong and take on such a concrete perspective in life?
i could never be 1/4 the person bdubs is. what a great man, really.
loved this guest episode. cheers to life. ❣️

It's so easy to love BDubs because he is so relatable. Millions adore him yet he sees himself as just another person the same way many of us see ourselves. And I can relate so hard about receiving a gift or even smallest of accolades makes me highly uncomfortable. But enjoy acting a fool to keep people entertained and to make others laugh. I very much adore this man 😊

I was watching Bdubs do his family vlogs when he was going through the entire process with his daughter that passed. It was incredibly heartbreaking and moving. To see him show back up after going through that was inspirational and I think of it often. I lost my fiancee to cancer about a decade ago and I know how helpless one can feel. To anyone that thinks they are at their lowest, know that the rollercoaster eventually goes back up. Keep going.

He's such a humble guy but has this "I am perfect" humor that clearly is self-deprecating, so funny. He's very entertaining and not just his personality but also his editing and content.
