Paused halfway through to comment, amazing job. The first building was top notch crafting (and I really enjoyed the crazy research behind it!), both the gate and the printed buildings look awesome, and they help tremendously with the huge amount of work needed to actually make such a project. I was so excited when you primed them :D and it really paid off, the city looks gorgeous.
in light of having organised all your previous builds into playlists and stuff, it could be cool to do a "Zorpazorp, the story so far" video, where you show off each build in chronological order and talk a little about it (hardest parts, inspo etc, what u love about them) as well as some of your history . It catches new people up and will get them more interested in going back to the old builds, and acts as a refresher to long fans, and would make a good video visually, and also, the work is done, it's just editing and a voice over of previous footage. just an idea tho. you're a legend mate
One thing that always blows me away with your work is your attention to the source material. It'd be _so much easier_ for you to just build something that looked cool and felt like Minas Tirith, but it's _so much more awesome_ that you go in and scour through the footage. This IS Minas Tirith. I'm sure Tolkien and Jackson would be blown away by this.
AH YES BENNY, thank you mate, I'm so glad you appreciate it, because it makes everything take about 4000 times longer hahaha. Thank you very much buddy.
I've always heard that Peter Jackson was into miniatures (historicals at least) I wonder if he's aware of zorps... (I mean let's not mince words) Psychotic dedication to seeing his/weta's bigiatures turned into miniatures. 🤔
Rumor has it that even dwarven smiths grumble deep in both beard and drink in envy of the worksmanship of Zorpazorp. Of course, they would meet death before admitting to such a thing.
Lachie, thank you so much for updating the old videos and setting up the playlists. I love going back and exploring your older builds, but it was super confusing navigating the videos sometimes. This will help a lot! Keep up the brilliant work!
Dang, you really should take this board out on location when it's finished. You know, maybe even do a battle report. Just as soon as you find a truck that's actually big enough to get it there, of course.....
A shipping container with hinged sides. Awnings over the lowered sides. One ready to go battle board with space for a game. just need something to haul it around.
I do think finishing blocks is the best way to go. Write down the ideas you have for new blocks and such but finish one area at a time instead of building all of it before moving on to painting. It'll probably be more satisfying for you as it'll be a finished part and for us as we get some proper pay off from following the serie
Another sweet update, loved it Lachie! I liked you laying out your plans for the next few videos, considering the million things you *could* do, and really appreciate the new playlists! Bring on the next video 🎉
Love the work you do. Not only on the crafting bench but behind the camera too. Helping people navigate a bit better the videos by renaming them and creating playlists and listening to your community is a great thing. Congrats.
As I'm approaching my 2 year channel subscription () I figured it was about time to up it to the top level. I can't guarantee that I'll always be in this position but you've earned it while it lasts.
I just can't get over how good the foam brickwork always looks. Really inspiring, when i get more room for crafts i know for sure i'm going to start some nice big foam projects.
Incredible and inspiring as always! Finally adding that rooftop to the building on the edge of the courtyard has really helped tie everything together! The battles on this section of the city are going to be absolutely insane!
Just started watching your middle-earth terrain videos took me less than 5 days to watch them all cant wait to watch more, now im planning on getting into middle-earth warhammer
I am loving how clear you are being with what you are doing in your process. Your keeping us in the loop about algo chasing, playlist making, and satisfaction facilitating. Amazing work all across the board man, I've been Loving this process since 2020, and hope to stock with it to the end!!
You've mentioned many times that rattle-cans melt foam, but I've never seen it, personally? Could be a fun 2 minute video how different paints reacts to foams? It could be a nice little break-video between edits?
I love this new format soooo much. I cannot wait until this section is finished. It looks so awesome right now. It is sad that the algorithm just hates your middle earth videos. I will have this video on loop for the next like 3 days😂 Can't wait for more!!
Really like having the videos completing specific chunks! Makes watching a full video a really fun pay off. You get to see something progress but also wrap up. There's no way I could ever hope to be able to build anything close to a mega board, but maybe one day I could hope to make something like one of the sections. It sort of shows a project I might be able to achieve, which also encourages me to keep watching to see the skills you show in the next vid.
This is the first Minas Tirith video I'm watching, I might actually like this series more than Terra because you are trying to recreate something! Not that I have anything against creativity of course, this is just very interesting.
Thank you for checing it oiut mate, means a lot! there's a whole playlist on this specific poart of it on my homepage, and an even bigge rplaylist on the bigger board this attaches to :)
Damn the courtyard section is looking amazing 👏 i especially love the resin/foam hybrid buildings 🔥 man working on these 2 mega builds at the same time must be intense
I pray that UA-cam is enough to support you and your family, but if it doesn’t work out Weta needs to hire you! Your skill and dedication to attention to detail are incomparable. Your work is always inspiring.
Watching all of these videos that you have now (I love the new format btw keep up the awesome work) I can’t help but think about the sheer number of beautiful and HUGE Star Wars locations and buildings you could do after you finish this project and the 40k palace. I love LotR but your SW content was fantastic too and I miss it dearly!
@@Zorpazorp yeah I know:/ it’s a bummer. I’ve been following the channel for so long and to see the love and effort you’ve put into this still might not be enough is heart breaking. I’m doing what I can and trying to share the channel with as many people as I can because it and you deserve so much.
I was surprised to see how much the Tor Ithilas buildings bring it all together! I thought they might look out of place, but instead they soften the line between GW plastic and foam components, by having a third 'style of architecture' in there. Looking shmick!
Love the courtyard, was one of my favorite places to fight when I was playing Lord of the Rings Conquest, loving the work im hyped to see the focus on getting the street details and things like the great famous gate all built up
Your Minas Tirith videos are my favorite. The Gondorian architecture created for the films is such a beautiful example of fictional design that is both grounded and fantastical. Keep up the great work!
Beautiful work, as ever. And that is a big and almost certainly succesful revamp of the channel, both in terms of organisation and philosophically. I'm stoked to have the playlists - seems ideal as something to dip into and keep a tab open, knowing I'm working through it in order. Overall, Excellent!
This is starting to look so good. I’m excited to see when the streets are all cobbled and you have the big bronze statue in front of the gate it’s going to awesome. And then the big battle report to follow can’t wait loving this journey so far 😁
Looks like it was a lot of work to sort and playlist everything - but much appreciated my man! If nothing else, I hope you can look back on all the UA-cam content you've made over the years and feel proud.
You are kill'in it lately with your videos. Keep up that great content. I can't wait for you to finally see the vision, the dream, the build complete. Cheers.
So nice to come home exhausted on a friday evening and let an exited Lachie take you to the ever more epic white city😆 And man is it epic! That gate was big before but now, with the bastions in front it's just insane! Absolutely beautiful!! I can't wait to see it next to the rest of the board and full of tiny little soldiers of Gondor defending it to the last man!
Great video as always. I feel a bit guilty admitting that I'm not so interested in the battle reports, but seeing your build process and sculpting is fascinating for me. Looking forward to more of this series and the 40K counterpart.
Thanks for the amazing content!!! It has been such an amazing journey and I can’t wait to see the finished product. Also I can’t wait to see a battle rep on one of the greatest moments in the films where all those trolls come through the gate!!!
Absolutely awesome, these vids never fail to amaze me. I think it was the right call and its amazing how big a difference it makes, getting that first layer of paint down. Now off to watch the battle report!
I really like your playlists and I've watched the entire Imperial Palace list. Gonna be tackling Middle Earth stuff next. Thanks for paying attention to this detail stuff.

I agree will now Look through all your Videos love how professinal you are now Keep going like that 😀
Wanted to second this. Iv been revisiting your videos as I plan my own board

Dude, that base coat really tied the courtyard together did it not? Amazing how much that step unifies the whole build.
"And they call it a miniature. A miniature!"
"This is no miniature. It's a bigature."
Love it. 🤗 Great that you got some paint on this lot before moving on to the next part.
Thank you Mattias!
