This should have been a single off of I Feel For You or lead single to Destiny and it would have continued her success. This sounds like freestyle meets 80’s funk. Chaka is Queen!
Michael Keaton should do a new Batman movie in Sikeston playing Batman alongside Adam's Batman with Josh and Terry respectfully as Robin and Nightwing ❤❤❤🎉
..It was for "Miami Vice", but she followed up with her Summer 1986 LP, "Destiny"...but it was too 'Pop' and didn't have this thrilling, "80's nitelife" sound....
Sorry, but I don't really like the way songs were remixed in the 80s. They don't sound like professional remixes imo. They sound more like fan-made re-edits.
Not super fond of the remix either, but you are mistaken about fan made. This is not fan made. These are indeed pro edits, done around the same time as the original release, using a Fairlight workstation, maybe the same one the original version was done on. The remixer at least had access to the same sound library, and the original vocal tracks, as well as the same processing.
Yeah I agree. Remixes and extended versions sounded haphazard and pieced together not really musical. I guess they were getting use to the new equipment or something
I wouldn't label it "extended version" then. I would label it "dance mix" or "remix". I want to know when people started doing what I think of when I see the term "remix"? (take the original vocals, and put them to different music, instead of just re-editing the original song) I also want to know when people started using terms like "remix" to describe alternate versions of songs?
that´s how it worked in the 80s - and yes, I still love those easy made extended and remix versions! If you can´t get enough of the single version, these one´s gives you more from the same 🙂
My favorite song since i heard it. Never heard this version. Thanks
This version is Fire
They're strapped to your parachutes, Adam and Bruce ❤
