I'm laughing my ass off at Sarah when Adam asked "I wanna know why he was called king of the court." It's the same reaction we had when Sarah first watched lmao
Adams empathetic nature is going to make this rewatch so rewarding with Sarah’s reactions on top of it. AI can’t wait for these next few episodes as the cast grows and he gets to know characters better!! Also love that Sarah gets to see all the foreshadowing and little details that are easy to miss for a first time anime watcher
I was just thinking the same thing. It's the coach in him who is looking for the positives even in the fact that Hinata hit the vice principal with the ball.
Sarah: "Kageyama doesn't have a filter, so..." Adam: "....." I'M DED. 🤣 Can't wait for Adam to see some actual gameplay and the brilliant animation that comes with it. Can't wait for the FQ! No Spoilers!
Quick rundown on Japanese honorifics: -san is generic and polite -kun is casual and generally used towards boys who are younger than you (though it can be gender-neutral in certain contexts) -chan is casual, kinda cutesy and generally used for younger girls -senpai is an elder or an upperclassman, someone who has more experience than you Kohai is not used as a suffix, only as a standalone, but means the opposite of senpai- it refers to an underclassman, someone who's less experienced than you -sensei is a teacher or an expert of some sort, it's also used for doctors and similar professions that have authority -senshu doesn't come into play in the anime at the moment (but it is in the manga, and it might appear in the movies) but it's an honorific specific to athletes. About the crows: So Sarah basically got it right. Karasuno (烏野) when translated directly means "crow's field", and so crows are used as a metaphor for the players on the volleyball team. Why specifically the volleyball team? Well, it's because of their previous coach... something something I don't want to spoil for Adam. This is a common theme source for other schools- if you know, you know. 🦊 😺 🦅
Kidnapping Adam and putting him in front of the camera is the best thing that happened in this channel. At least for me. I love watching you two together while we're all watching Haikyu!. ❤
I gotta say this again, Sarah is a perfect representation of the comments section XD Also Sarah, remember what you and Adam said about a good setter being able to make an okay team great when Ushiwaka comes around 😂
anyone pick up how sarah was in full floaty fangirl mode when she said “yeah me too” about liking daichi😭😭😭 also. REALLY LOVED their discussion on hinata and his role in provoking kageyama! LOVE how sarah pointed out that kageyama is the only one getting in trouble, LOVE how adam broke down how it was probably due to his reputation and importance to the team. i love the new insights and analysis this combo brings!!! keep up this series uwu
I love the dynamic of Sarah watching it again knowing how all the characters develop, but still getting a fresh perspective from a new viewer. She'll probably end up enjoying this watch through more than her first for that reason.
To clarify, when Tobio was making his assessment of Shoyo, he was only thinking all of that, he didn't tell him he had finely honed reflexes and athletic abilities. The indicator that it was in his thoughts was that he referred to Shoyo as "he" and not "you" plus the echo on his voice. The only thing he said out loud was "you're lousy"
Sarah will probably pick up the subtext from Tsukki's reactions and responses now that she knows the whole picture, even though Adam won't learn about him until season 2. I think same goes for all our boys.
True! But also it's a little bit spoiling for Adam. The viewer'd better not have any context about characters before he actually sees them and makes his own first (second, third, ..) impression.
I’m 💯 sold on the couples format. Adam’s perspective as a youth coach is super interesting and will get even more so as we meet more players. My husband (MB) coached boys club. He had Very Strong Feelings about certain players (IRL he coached a set of obnoxious twins with helicopter parents who scarred him for life 😂). I can’t wait for Adam’s thoughts on how 15-, 16-, and 17-year-old boys think and act. And wow-the HUSBAND POV! This is AMAZING.
"[End of the court is the] best place to watch the game from" - the author of Haikyuu very much agrees with you! In their interviews/weekly comments Kageyama's passionate speech about being a setter is actually something the first editor of Haikyuu came up with to tone down Kageyama's "cool" image a bit! The author seemed a bit reluctant at first but they did include it in the end x)
Oh that's an interesting fact. And a very good decision for them to include that speech. That changed kageyama's character from being an arrogant player to someone very passionate about the game.
31:52 actually upon rewatching that scene i was kind of thinking that hinata is also being punished by daichi not giving him any attention. Like bc he was so (for lack of better word) neglected in middle sch he yearns for attention now and daichi is just... ignoring him. Which is rlly effective (hence why hinata keeps jumping around and shouting louder to get somewhat noticed by ppl)
I don't usually watch re-watch reactions, but this one is the first exception I've made. The dynamic between the two of you is so darn wholesome, I can't get enough. 💙
Sarah said Hinata was poking Kageyama but what was because Kageyama run his mouth without filter first, also Kageyama agreed to challenge pretty fast. He actually was hopeful about Hinata's improvement, because he definitely noticed and approved Hinata's attitude in match, when Hinata was like 'We didn't lost yet', unlike Kageyama's own teammates, who he thought didn't put enough effort in the play. Also, notice how Hinata, after realizing Kageyama doesn't like King of the Court nickname, stopped to call him like that, even cutting himself off when it slipped out accidentally. He is a nice kid who wouldn't rail on people on purpose, he was just offended what Kageyama, who he picked as his rival and thinks very high about (but wouldn't say it out loud), looked down on him. So it's not boys be boys, it's more personal for both of them.
When I was following Sarah's Haikyuu journey, it was so full of myself feeling like I was revisiting the joys of Haikyuu again (it had been like 5 years since I'd first seen it) and it was just super interesting to hear her take on the accuracy of it all. Adam's series is genuinely one of the funniest reactions I've ever seen. I can't stop laughing, you guys are amazing!
About the discussion at 30:25 I think it is important to note that Karasuno doesn't have a coach, so it is Daichi who decides who plays and who doesn't basically
Adam = GREAT COACH!! Accurately prediciting moments out of small information. Can't wait for him to predict more big situations, I think he'll definitely cry. Loved the in-sync big bow!! Loving your reactions. Can't wait for more. I would love to see few of the Canadian Volleyball Players react to Haikyuu as well.
Just stopping by the comments to say, I love this new watchthrough. I love getting to see you see it for a second time (honestly, you can't watch it too much) with the better understanding. And we still get the newbie reaction from Adam! You brought him into the fold and it's just as fun to have his insights as it was and is to have yours. So, thank you and I look forward to the next one.
This is dope. Big fan of Sarah's first reactions but then the discussion and dynamic between the two of you adds levels to it. Can't wait to see more from Adams coaching perspective as we progress and introduce characters.
You guys are so fun with your commentary together! I am laughing just because you guys are laughing 😂 Can't wait to see more and hear more of Adam's thoughts and predictions! Especially on if he can guess who is in the love house 👀
rewatching actually helps show off how well hinata was able to see the ball already, so the certain arc sure was fast growth but he already had the tool he just need to know how to use those informations. oh, and to be honest, instead of locking those two out of the gym imajine forcing them to just sit out on the side of the court, they will be so jittery and shuffling around it would be hilarious
Anyone ever suggested Sarah to watch the stage play for Haikyuu????? Every Haikyuu fan should watch it cuz the actors and the producing team were doing unbelievably well, way beyong my expectation for "real man" plays. It's incredible to see them came up with genius ideas and ways to present a volleyball game on stage. The plays for the first three seasons are just legend. It doesn't necessary to make a reaction vid for it (really appreciate if you do so but know the play will be in hours so it will be hard), all I want is to share the amzing love and performance of the plays showed for Haikyuu 😭😭😭😭😭
It's a tribute to this anime that I could watch (earlier seasons especially) multiple times in a short time and still love the episodes. Enjoying revisiting (once more!) with both of you commenting this time around.
i was so so hopeful that you would rewatch the series sarah, because i think it really just endears you to it further the more familiar you are with the characters! (and i think you can see that with how quickly you got goosebumps this time around haha). and also knowing more from the start about how the story will unfold helps you appreciate some things even more. but the dynamic between you and adam is SO utterly delightful, i love your different insights and how you play off each other. you're both incredibly charming to watch!!! 🥰
Great reaction again, it is very cool to see Sarah get goosebumps about Daichi's speech because it means so much more looking back than it probably does the first time watching it! Looking forward to next week!
omg yes, i watched world champs and i didnt really get hyped. I then watched some random japanese high school competition video i found filmed from the end while randomly scrolling and i got so immersed. The serves felt intense and extremely powerful, the movement of the receivers was quick and precise, the sets just floated gracefully along the net. It made it 100x better
The dynamic between you both are awesome and Adam is very good at predicting lol. I really hope you guys continue to react! Watching your videos makes my day a little bit better!
Welcome back Adam🎉 Can’t wait to see how you feel with the upcoming episodes. And also, With Adam, Sarah looks so emotionally rich during reactions, love to see that too! You are so adorable Sarah 😂
So glad you guy watching this together Sarah you may find stuff you didn't cath on on the first watch. He is a Karasuno crow right now, unless he abandons us for Shiratorizawa,Aobajohsai or Fukurōdani lol.
I think it will be interesting to see Adam's input as a coach as the episodes progress. Right now it's too early to ask for it, but later down in the season, and then season 2, 3 and 4, the volleyball techniques are interesting, and I'm interested to hear Adam's feedback on those. Maybe he already teaches them to young volleyball players too, or maybe he will... :)
These cool quotes from you, Sarah, that I really love: 5:35 "Let this all soak into your soul" 18:34 "Haikyuu will do the work" Thank you, I will watch the game from the end (36:40) 37:18 You two are meant for each other. I love the chemistry between the both of you.
Love this. Please keep it going. Now Sarah is one of us when we were watching her watch Haikyuu the first time lol. Looking forward to see Adam grip the side of his chair in excitement (over an anime) during one of the many matches lol!
I'm loving Adam's perspective, his point of view as a coach is so interesting! I'm so genuinely invested in seeing how he will react and comment on certain events! Love that Sarah gets the joy to discover all the little details you lose on the first watch. This format is wholesome. Thank you so much for all the effort you put into this project!! See you guys next week ❤
Teachers, doctors, professors, lawyers, politicians and people who are regarded as masters of their trade are called "sensei", which means "teacher". Sempai is a person who entered school, college, uni or work etc. before you. So it's a person who is theoretically is better at it than you, or knows more than you. The reverse of that is kouhai (u just means that o is pronounced longer (can also be spelled kōhai). Somebody who enrolled after you.
You guys made me so happy! Thanks to you, i smiled kinda all the time or even laughed. I didn't expects this to be so wholesome and awesome! Your friendly chat, your humor, your beautiful relationships, plus Haikyuu, and all the emotional and mental responses it calls inside - this suddenly happened to be beyond great! Thank you, seriously! You made my dull and shitty time so bright and full of life for almost an hour! Just pure joy! Only thing i will ask for again and again is do it More, More Often, please! ))
I hope y’all continue to do this! Love watching y’all it brings me so much joy! Big fan here and I can’t wait to see more! Much love from California! 😊
I totally get the goosebumps hitting harder the second time around. That's happened with me for some other shows I restarted and gave a second shot. Sometimes, the moments just hit different - especially for you Sarah, given you went through the show once already! Still loving Adam's insight and the dynamic you two share. This continues to be a blast ☺️
Great reaction!! Laughed so hard more then last week😆 So several people already explained about honorifics so I won’t mention it. But would also like to add on to that with the vice principal and principal😀 In the US, and maybe Canada too?, I think usually we address teachers as Mr./Mrs./Miss/etc + last name. Nobody would call you just by the last name. Same goes for Japanese, we address teachers with last name + sensei, so like Takeda sensei. But for vice principal and principal we usually address them with their position + sensei. In this case it’s kyōtō sensei. And when you don’t say the sensei part it’s equivalent to calling them just by their last name, which we all know is quite rude💦 That is why Suga made Tanaka add the sensei part☺️
Omg "I'm Adam and this episode I'm here by choice". I'm dead LOL
Maybe the funniest and most genuine phrase I've heard from a react video lol
Sara: "I do have a type but not in Haikyuu"
Also Sara: I think Kuuro is the most handsome
But also her saying her husband is a mix of Daichi and Suga? Lucky girl
@@elisabethn2893aww yeah she's really lucky for suree
"Its not a fantasy world, its real life" - One of us! One of us!

I'm laughing my ass off at Sarah when Adam asked "I wanna know why he was called king of the court." It's the same reaction we had when Sarah first watched lmao
11:11 synch rate 100% 😂
love the Sarah and Adam combo 🤠👍
Omg that was adorable 😂😂😂😂😂
@@LootGoblin4269it really was ❤😂 , I wanted to watch it multiple times because of how cute it was ❤
I think Sarah reaction to haikyu was already peak reaction content but now with both of them we reached truly new heights.
I am so down to spend another 2 years of sarah and adam journey

@@chloeliew6975 in Japanese the 野 character apparently means field, so yeah. Crow's field.

Does kageyama struggle at big moments though?🤔 He for sure struggles with some *people*

サラがこのアニメを2周する楽しみを感じてくれて嬉しい!
そして、アダム!
とにかく見てくれ!
出来れば2周してくれ!
見ればわかる!
Adam's triumphant return!
Adam brings great insight because he's been a coach of boys volleyball.
I hope y’all continue to do this! Love watching y’all it brings me so much joy! Big fan here and I can’t wait to see more! Much love from California! 😊
Pls continue this reaction videos!) It's perfect)🎉
I totally get the goosebumps hitting harder the second time around. That's happened with me for some other shows I restarted and gave a second shot. Sometimes, the moments just hit different - especially for you Sarah, given you went through the show once already!
Still loving Adam's insight and the dynamic you two share. This continues to be a blast ☺️
Great reaction!! Laughed so hard more then last week😆
So several people already explained about honorifics so I won’t mention it. But would also like to add on to that with the vice principal and principal😀
In the US, and maybe Canada too?, I think usually we address teachers as Mr./Mrs./Miss/etc + last name. Nobody would call you just by the last name.
Same goes for Japanese, we address teachers with last name + sensei, so like Takeda sensei.
But for vice principal and principal we usually address them with their position + sensei. In this case it’s kyōtō sensei.
And when you don’t say the sensei part it’s equivalent to calling them just by their last name, which we all know is quite rude💦
That is why Suga made Tanaka add the sensei part☺️
Definitely makes me want to rewatch Sarah's reaction again.
The rewatch is going great! Just curious Sarah, if you saw the crazy crowd the Nebraska girls got?
I loved Sarah's first run through of the series but this has me grinning ear to ear in a new kind of way.
Good things are always better shared. So cute to see you two all giggly :]
Sarah is the senpai now!
Yall dynamic is great. I love the different perspective and the insight Adam brings
22:37 I can't stop laughing lol
Sensei generally is teacher Senpai is your senior within a group (a team, company, school, etc) but has more a mentor meaning a lot of the time.
This is hilarious. I love this reaction with Adam!
Your dynamics together is sooooo amusing! So fun to watch 😂😂😂
