Next, we sing the piece called Masterpiece by the English composer Paul Drayton. As the title suggests, Masterpiece is a modest title for a piece with modest pretensions... 😀
Such a delight. The recording fidelity is outstanding, I heard so many more little details than in the old live video. And love the new bars added for the 20th/21st c composers. Thank you guys!!!
He esperado tanto para escuchar Master Piece con la nueva formación de The Kings Singers! Bravísimo!! Un abrazo desde Quito-Ecuador. Gracias por este regalo para la humanidad!

Amazing! The performance by the old King's Singers was always my favorite, but now I can add one more gem to my precious collections of calming and comforting music, that always makes me a little happier, when I hear it.❤❤❤
No wonder we all love this piece--it's magnificent and never more so than in this new incarnation! Truly "There and Back Again," exquisitely sung--and you are all having so much *fun* with it! Bravi!!!
Wow, masterfully interpreted! This is one of my favorite line-ups of The King’s Singers in blend, intonation and musicality. Only a pity about the places UA-cam decided I had to hear some ads before continuing listening to you guys. It didn’t exactly ruin the experience, but it surely blemished it.
MY dream has come true! I've listened to the original so often that I know it note for note. The new lick of paint was a lovely surprise! So very well done, as always! Much love!
It is very pleasing to hear it in a new "clothing"! I hope you bring it in concert with a new choreography 😂 I can't look forward to meeting you in Varese next year!
I have just heard "Masterpiece" on APM's Performance Today. It was my first exposure to Drayton, to this composition, and to The King's Singers. And I am loving it. :) A lot of wit, a lot of charm, and a lot of skill combined into this short piece. Love it.
Amazing singing, but to be honest the humour and the acting of the original version is completely something else! At the same time I personally appreciate the fact the you made a reinterpretation instead of doing the same performance, so well done as always
Оооооо, старий репертуар звучить по-новому. Це скарб!!! Мій улюблений твір, ще й новенького додали! Фантастично😍😍😍😍 Wie schön und wunderbar❤️❤️❤️ And i want to buy this notes!
required listening for every aspiring choir student. I fell in love with that piece some 20 years ago, still love the updated version. is there a sheet music version available?
Great job of re-appropriation of this piece. Not an easy thing to do, and this version does give other views to the piece than the one I used to know. Also nice job of taking the acoustic into account. Thank you guys :)
Love this selection. Such beautiful voices, blend, selections - everything they do is perfection. Had to laugh - they are obviously in such a cold room that from time to time their breath condensation is visible.
In all the KS videos, I wish they’d show Eddie Button and let him sing MUCH more. He’s a beautiful, talented counter-tenor--ought to have a solo career in Baroque and Renaissance music.
I love the fact that they didn't try to copy the previous version one by one, and so although I think it's up to the quality of the previous version, it's a completely different listen. Only the Strauss part is a bit disturbing because of the text change, but you can get used to that too.
Someone: "It's impossible to tell the story of music in short period of time and in an interesting way". The King Singers, reading Paul Drayton's notes: "Hold my beer!" :)
Really a Masterpiece of idea, composition and performance! P.S. Let me dare to add to minimalist :) |: Si(Bb)-me(F)-on(Db)-ten(Bb)-Holt(F),Si(Ab)-me(Eb)-on(C)-ten(Ab)-Holt(Eb) :|
Since it is a given that this lineup have squozen every drop of nonchalant hypercompetence into a fluffily folded casing of airy charisma and served it to us at the carefully calibrated temperature of perfect taste, I shall not go On too much about every shining angle on the timbral prism or every flawless feather in the downy bed of phrasal arc. Everybody knows Julian can beam a line of fluid gold into your heart with the downturn of a Mozartian grazioso. I don't have to spend too many of our collective supply of pixels on the seamless hocket or the undirected unanimity of final consonants. Instead I will note that I thought the camera person was singling Johnny out for an especially cool low-angle Beastie-Boys treatment until I recalled there is really no other way to come at him unless you're a giraffe yourself. His cool is not dependent on your perspective.
We're starting to mythicize Bach. Songs like that are usually adressed to God, aren't they?😅 Edit: ok. I get it now. But saying someone's name like that just sounds too much like worship, if you ask me.🤷
@@wendyscott8425 Well it's not that they are ALWAYS out of tune BY A LOT, none of that. Just some bit where some chord isn't quite clean, a normal group singing like this would be wonderful, but for the KS standard (especially this piece, being sung by previous line ups) I felt it was a bit under the standard
@@francescofgrthe Debussy section and the Wagner were particularly rough, plus they have lost all the character and humour of the piece. There was no distinction between sforzando and substitute piano 8n the Beethoven section. Really disappointed which is not how I wanted to fed
This piece is what introduced me to The King's Singers! So lovely to hear it with this fresh update and gorgeous reverb.

Mine as well 😊
Such a delight. The recording fidelity is outstanding, I heard so many more little details than in the old live video. And love the new bars added for the 20th/21st c composers. Thank you guys!!!
Such glorious singing, and incredible writing. Clever and witty. One of my favourites.
“Cage” 😂
my favorite piece by the king's singer is back!
Senza parole. Un vero capolavoro!
This should be required listening, um well, everywhere! Thanks for sharing. Cheers.
I teach music to children and actually "require" them to listen to this :)
@@Frost67915 Awesome!! I first heard this song when the King Singers were in the original lineup. LOL
I cannot explain how long I have been waiting for the newer singers to cover the song.
Same :D

Total mastery of their craft. Always a delight.
This is really a gift, thank you so much, one of my absolute favourites 💛
Delightful and amusing: just what the doctor ordered in these stressful times. Thanks you amazing chaps!👏👏👏
Beautiful rendition of the original masterpiece which i love.the king's singers have a always had and still have a wonderful gift

Excellent comme toujours ! 👏
The new parts are fantastic! Thank you for this great masterpiece indeed! ❤
Amazed. Bravo. Thank you for this piece and performance. congrats to all. Also to the Music engineer.
And the videographer--the camera work was gorgeous!
KING'S SINGERS 💝 All Saints at once! What a gift! ..and Paul Drayton, what a genius! 💙 Thanks a lot for this strepitous gift! Greetings from Sicily

Are the updated scores available anywhere?
Akhirnya salah lagu kesukaanku dinyanyiin lagi! ❤
But i prefer the cam standing in one position, which is center. Just like the old line KS 🤔
In all the KS videos, I wish they’d show Eddie Button and let him sing MUCH more. He’s a beautiful, talented counter-tenor--ought to have a solo career in Baroque and Renaissance music.

Great stuff again. Next time I expect to see a parody of Jacob Collier doing audience choir.

Beethoven was amusing!
Omg Eric whitacre part made me laugh so hard. Byrd will always be my favorite part though.
For that first song at the Mozart part, what is that piece?
original piece name*
Does the cold environment improve acoustics or something?
Surely that SOP is related somehow to Daniel Radcliffe
Why has every singer a normal music stand but one has an oven grate???
🤣 das hat Pfiff!
preferisco la versione precedente era anche divertente
Beautiful sounding but I miss the entertaining and clever performance skills of the KS "Dream Team" from their Cadogan Hall performance.
The older video was my entire personality for MONTHS! I'm about to become insufferable with sharing this one as well lol
These UA-cam adds randomly interrupting... 🤬
Точность ощущения стиля, безупречная техника, мягкий юмор. Чувство меры не подводит ни разу. Спасибо!
