I was at Download that year, I saw this live. I'm in that audience somewhere. They closed the entire night with this. The ground shook! I couldn't wait to jump up, my knee was killing me.
Wow! That must have been amazing! 😲
@@extremelywhitegirl2543 cool you like Slipknot i Like Slipknot too
Me too, I was right in front of Mick!
Well..... that's where I started lol
Slipknot isn't just music, it's performance art.
Yes! Slipknot Surfacing is really good also, that is the last song they play at most concerts now, from their first album
That's the song that made me a fan and is still my favourite to this day
Slipknot-(SIC) live at download 2009!!
Take care of yourself, take care of each other
being in one of those crowds, everyone jumping up at the same time... it's one of the best feelings ever!
Its so awesome to see the look on someone's face when they discover new things they feel they're not supposed to like but they really love it. Subbed!
Sweeeeet! 😄❤
According to Joel McIver’s book Slipknot Unmasked:
"it was allegedly written in response to the growing rivalry between two Central Iowan radio stations (KAZR and KKDM). Slipknot were now Des Moines' leading band, and because they were allied to (KKDM), KAZR allegedly resented this, attempting to pit (them) against (local band 35'‘ Mudder)."
This song was released in 1999 way before Corey divorced his ex wife in 2007, so I hope that explains who this song is against. :)
Edit: I also remember reading somewhere that this song was about a record company who laughed at them and said "if this is the direction rock and roll is going in, then I don't want to be apart of it." or something like that...
I also highly recommend you listen to the studio version.
Awesome! I love learning these things! Even if it means I suck at interpreting lyrics! Lol 😅
Yessss finally some more Corey Taylor! 😁🤘🏻
Woohoo! 😄
I Love this show.
My favorite Song is vermillion. You have to see this Song. I Love your Channel. ❤
Okay so, Spit it Out came out long before he was married. As far as songs about his ex wife, those are all off their newest album We are Not Your Kind.
Sorry I’m commenting as I watch lol. He joined the band around 1997, and this is in 2009. This is off their first album released in 1999 (the song)
Gotcha! I'm horrible with lyrics and I still don't know much about Slipknot, but I love learning along the way! 😄🤗
ExtremelyWhiteGirl just tryna help! 😊 I tbink you’re doing great especially with what you’ve got, going into it knowing nothing about the people and all 👊🏻🤘🏻
@@genstonewall He and I would get along VERY well then. At least, I think so. He'd hate my stories.
I really like how you dissect the lyrics prior to listening. "Move a Mountain" by Chromatics would be a cool reaction. I listened to this band for years, that drummer was Joey Jordison, fun fact is their new drummer Jay was like a number one fan and got chosen to be the new drummer. Batushka is a fun band to watch live shows of!
I love that performance of Spit it out...you can get a sense of the energy (which you felt)
Great reaction and I like how you interpret the lyrics
:) welcome to our insane SLIPKNOT family
My husband, a friend and I saw Slipknot in 2016 (with Marilyn Manson and Of Mice & Men). Corey was recovering from a broken neck. He spent most of the show pretty careful. He kind of squatted to alleviate pressure, walked the stage instead of running. Then they played this song at the end. He was wearing a neck brace and he was probably still being cautious, but he went all out for that song. And so did everyone else. I have a pretty bad spine injury myself, but I did my best to go crazy too!
Dang! And how did he break his neck?!? 😮
@@extremelywhitegirl2543 I guess it happened gradually from all the stuff he does on stage. He went to the doctor with neck pain and it turned out he was walking around with 2 fractured vertebrae. Crazy, huh?
@@bekahnavarro Wow! Very crazy! 😲
hahaha i loved your reaction
I highly recommend "AOV". Song doesn't get enough play time out in the open in my opinion. A good one to check out lyrically. Love your reactions to this genre. You've really transformed in your opinion of Slipknot since you started your journey in this genre. Corey Taylor in my opinion is a fantastic musician and song writer. How you approach every song by knowing what the lyrics mean and the message he's trying to get across, helps you enjoy the talent of each musician playing together. This is what music is all about. This is what the metal community loves and is all about. People like you help that cause 🤘🤘🤘
Sweeeet! I'm loving it! ❤❤❤❤
This is why I'm subscribed. Rock on! Never stop doing what you're doing!
I was at concert 2009 awesome show
I've seen this song live multiple times, and each time it gets crazier and crazier. When they played Kansas City in 2009 at the Sprint Center, they played this at the end of the set and I was only a couple rows from the floor, some of the craziest moshing I've witnessed. I do recall leaving that show with the worst whiplash from headbanging I'd ever had
Lol dang! 😅🤘
@@extremelywhitegirl2543 With them being my favorite band, I tend to lose myself in the music (and the moment) whenever they go on stage lol. If I didn't have the Knot in my life, I'd hate to see where I'd be. Being a Maggot is something I'm beyond proud of.
I subbed because you're reacting to one of my favorite bands ever! Plus I'm also a cat person. Keep up the reactions on Slipknot and others and congrats on your subs!
Thanks! 😄😄😄😄
You had the the most genuin, emotional and spiritual reaction to this video.
To the point that I became a bit emotional too. I really appreciate your reaction video.
Since I have been a SK fan since 2003 and experienced the same feeling the first time I heard " wait and bleed" ,this video pushed through a nostalgic and heart warming memory for me. Thank you for that ❤
❤❤❤❤

Tech n9ne featuring Corey Taylor "Wither" is a great mix of rock and rap.

Yay! Thanks! 😄❤
I love your reaction 😍 and your cat always 😻💝
You have to react to the devil in i by slipknot. It’s about how their band mate Paul gray died and how they had to overcome it.
Yeah ur right this guy is really good drummer lady
I enjoyed how you were blown away. I have never been to a show. I respect this band and shared this video!
Sweet! 😄❤

I like your videos and seeing your channel grow.
Thanks! I still have your song written down! 😏
@@extremelywhitegirl2543 im looking forward to your reaction. :-)
That song spit it out came out before he and his wife at the time divorced. spit it out came out in 97 the divorce happen years later. those who said its about his ex wife is a lie..
1 This was written in retaliation to childish mudslinging by a handful of individuals who worked at a local radio station in Des Moines, Iowa, where the band is from. These individuals worked hard to keep Slipknot off the air.
2 This was broadcast in fragments on Mancow's Morning Madhouse after the station threatened to pull Mancow's show from their station. It was also right after Slipknot were pulled from a slot on a live concert in Chicago hosted by Mancow; thanks to same said individuals at the aforementioned radio station.
You should hear the acoustic version of this song (not kidding) from the Corey Taylor Live in London set. Very playful and funny.
Here is the link for you. Start at around One Hour, Fourty-nine minutes, and Thirty seconds. I can guarantee you won't get through it without smiling or laughing. ua-cam.com/video/uetFO7y8WPA/v-deo.html
Space X cool!
If the Rolling Stones were a metal band this is what Paint it Black would sound like...
You should react to " Paint It Black (metal cover by Leo Moracchioli)" you won't be disappointed.
Oh yeah! I wore that shirt! Lol
I have family who have worked with Space X. 😊🤗

Yeeeeeeees! Wow! 😃😃😃😃
This song is about the record industry not his ex wife. Snuff is about his ex wife
“What kind of ground is it” hahaha 😂
Lol I'm super sarcastic. Sometimes it just slips out. 😅

I like the space x shirt
Thanks! My dad and brother have worked with them before. Fun! 😄❤
Youre so lovely and your reactions are very honest. Next should be SOLWAY FIRTH.
Much love from colombia
😄😄😄❤
This song was made in 1999, he had no wife at that age. It's about the pent up agression he has for the world and how he has to spit the bitterness out. Most of the songs he writes about his wife are about how he loves her, or how they needed to let go of each other because they were too damaging for themselves.
I seeee. Sweet! Learning new things with every reaction! 😄💓
I'm enjoying your Slipknot reactions a lot, keep it up! Maybe do *Unsainted* next? You'll probably like that one too
Korn is another metal band from the same era as Slipknot, maybe you should give it a listen
*Blind* - *Freak On A Leash* - *Got The Life*
Those are my favorite songs by Korn, I think they pretty much summarize the band's sound :)
I love it when I see people enjoying Slipknot as well. Sorry when. I say people I mean not maggots 😂😂
I'm getting there! Lol 😏
You need to check out some NF amazing rap very life changing Nate is amazing
There if I'm correct from Iowa

Any song will do.
why do you look like your about to burst into tears near the end
Lol I have no idea. Sometimes my face does things without me noticing. 😂😅
The drummers dad was bruce Springsteen's drummer. Great pedigree.
Oh wow. Totally! 😮
I didn't know that! That's rad. Slipknot is one of my husband's favorite bands.
Their current drummer is max Weinbergs son jay. This concert the drummer is Joey. Jay joined in 2013.
