Another couple of jobs ticked off working on your back so well done. Ive got two lifts here for my own pleasure and the best money spent but im nearly 62 and done enough years on the floor.
@@ChrisNFyes that will be next week as I just ran out of time this week. So I will have pictures etc and part numbers and sockets sizes on that one. Hopefully I can test it too.
You very good and helpful sir !! I ordered the gearbox kit from Auto Doc I must say there are not a lot out there who share part numbers! Hope all is ok with you I’m looking forward to your wheel alignment. I would love to come and meet you drive my car make a comparison with your car. Be nice to get out of London! Fantastic videos !!
Hi everyone, I only take a look at the Oil Accumulator in this one at the end. I ran out of time as my Volvo decided to through a wobbly this week and I had to go fix the rear brakes and wheel bearing. Hopefully I will complete the oil accumulator and do a proper video on it next week.
The reason for undoing the filler plug before draining the oil is to make sure you can refill the diff. Draining the oil first and then failing to undo the filler plug afterwards would be an issue!
That is a good point! Speaking of which I just found I ordered the wrong transmission kit. Now I should be able to return it, but I did open the bag with the filter in it… if I had checked first, I might of avoided that.
Found it sir on Auto Doc ! Yes your right it says the kit is not compatible. It’s showing the gasket the oils and the filter but no bolts or sump. Price is £163.00. If I buy that kit will it come with bolts do you think? Your extremely helpful sir !! God bless you !!
Yes it does come with bolts. It’s genuine ZF too. As I said, I bought an extra litre of oil, I think I only needed half a litre extra in the end, but inevitably you spill a bit.
Fantastic video again!! I know you have completely done your gearbox oil job I’m struggling to find the parts for some reason. Some kits come with a metal pan which I have on the car. Have you kindly got the part numbers for the complete kit please? The bolts are £11 each and there are 21 of them ! Keep up the fantastic posts !!! Hope you got your alignment done !
I stuck it all in this video: ua-cam.com/video/XcegNAiaL0I/v-deo.html Gearbox designation is ZF 6HP 26X gearbox I used lifeguard fluid 6 form ZF ZF 1068 298 090 is the mechatronic seal kit £32 from Autodoc ZF 1068 298 061 is the service kit with gasket, oil and filter as well new magnets and screws - £199 from Autodoc. They say it is the wrong kit and try to sell you the plastic sump version. This part number is for the metal sump. I bought another litre of the ZF oil ZF S671 090 255 just in case as changing the mechatronics does require a bit more oil. I have to wait till after MOT time for wheel alignment, so couple of months time is the earliest I can do it. Next weekend I am fitting a door, it will be a nightmare as have to cut concrete blocks out the way. Probably free weekend after.
@@SailingSVPipedream Hi Bob ! Barrett is my name ! I got my 4 wheel alignment done on Sunday . The rear was in the red at ~22 left and ~14 right . There is a good place but it’s in SE5 . The chap has the lastest machine with the correct data . He is very good and knows all cars to align. Mines was done in 40 minutes!! The camber angles front and rear automatically came into spec after the toe angle was done. A print out was given . All for under £80 !! Car drives dead straight and coasts ! However I still have a squishy problem on the rear passenger side. I’ve checked all the bushes they are fine .no play on the wishbone so it’s got to be a weak shock or the hyper block on top of the shock. I’ve ordered that block at £40 from Scuderira parts they have it stock . I’ll let you know if that has cured my problem.
@@Barrettbakrania Well done, my tracking will be an issue as all the camber angles need doing and the bolts for those seize up. Does sound like the shock is gone. I don’t think the hyper lock does much other than keep it all in place. Mine were all fine.
Well, I finally started her today - twice. So far no noise and an exceptionally smooth start. Too early to celebrate, but promising. I am just editing the video of that now, so hopefully will post tomorrow. I hope to have her off the jacks this week and back in use, so will no more in a week or so.

Yes, I have seen old lifts really cheap secondhand, but they would not fit in my garage. Perhaps I should try to raise the roof a bit!
@@woodrimcars2324 2 lifts sir ?? I would love to use one I can pay you for the time .
Keep up the good work, great video, very interesting 👍
Thanks very much.
Will you be adding information on the oil accumulator? Parts used etc?

Happy to help and be useful. I am out near Stonehenge if you get down this way.
That pricy oil filter should be mounted on the dashboard where people can see it. Cheers
Yes, it was considerably more than the filter for the model T…

A Hand Tight oil Filter is totally fine
Yes I have no idea why they specify 30nm, seems very excessive.

do you notice any difference when starting from a cold engine since you have the accumulator installed?
