    Upon unboxing, I was immediately upset at how the rails were very noticeably bent. But I kept going, all tools needed to assemble were included ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxqtX4Dxs6aecAZEuz6GY5-d81YecKCshn and I had it set up in about 30 minutes. Honestly I love this thing, make sure to read the measurements and measure your space so you know if it'll work for you. I bought this to put inside my closet, underneath where I hang my clothes and it is absolutely perfect! It is VERY sturdy and all drawers glide easily and mine are stuffed, and they are still flush when closed.

    You have some very clever ideas! Very economical, I like that you use lots of things that are already around the house. It makes it a lot easier to feel like you can tackle a craft project when you don't need to get a lot of different materials. I can't wait to try this out!

    Hi! You have done a very good job! I have some questions and objections for this folding method...Why folding in the front side? It is not practical to fold the front side of a T shirt. Αs a result the front side is hidden and is not easy to identify the one specific t shirt you want to wear. The monochrome view is beautiful, but what do you do? Do you open everything to find what you want?

    Folding clothes the “Konmarie way”? My uncle now a retired WWII vet, showed me how to fold clothes like this 30 years ago!! As a child I always admired how he folded socks, underwear and made his clothes stand up in the drawer. He also gave lessons on ironing clothes and boot shining!!

      When I started nursing many years ago, we had to do beds with military precision, and folded corners. The matron would check if the alignment of the hospital name on the blanket was in the correct position on the bed, and if a coin could be bounced off the bed because it was folded tight enough. I imagine patients felt like they were being restrained in the bed...lol...but thats how it was. At the private school we went to skirts were measured, and also regulation underwear, huge big bloomers like parachutes .

    I have just been watching Marie Kondo do the folding and she does not do such a "tight" rectangle ehere you can catch the side of the head opening. Also she leaves an inch in the first fold, so it then dits better. If someone is interested I recommend watching the original way first (she talks about sending love to the clothes and other interesting stuff). But I commend you on your drawer decoration ideas.

    For cutting the foam board, the safest way and kneater way to do it is to be first on a hard surface (not soft) and to not put too much pressure on the cutting movement but do it slowly and softly few times. This way no risk of cutting yourself by applying too much pressure and getting risk of a slipping cutter.

    I use Foam core every day at work ,here’s a little trick that might help . Add 1” more on each end . And core them on opposite sides at the 1 inch Mark . It should look like a long Z .it should make it more secure in your drawer ,you can also add low tack 3M tape . We use this stuff called snott tape . It’s made by 3M. But that’s what we call it the “Film Biz” . I’m sure it has a more official name. it comes in half inch and quarter inch with.

      This is a great tip. I understand about the "Z" shape. But can you clarify what you mean: "core" them on opposite ends? I know I need to bend them, but should I cut into it at the 1" mark at the top first?

    • @rubberstamperatheart
      @rubberstamperatheart 5 років тому +2

      @@julies7328 I was wondering the same thing, and then it hit me that it's a typo... she meant to say, "SCORE" the foam board on opposite sides. Whatever side you score across the foam board, when 'bent' to a 90-degree fold, the score is "inside" the corner that is formed, not on the outside of the fold. (Hope that makes sense!)

    I’m glad you like this method and that it works for you but I don’t really like it. I need to see the shirts I’m going to wear before I wear them. I would end up unfolding everything when trying to get ready. I know Marie Recommends you fold vs. hang stuff on a hanger but I greatly prefer hanging the majority of my clothes or folding them a different way so that I can easily see what the t shirt design looks like. I like those plastic t-shirt folders. It creates a nice square but you can still see what the item looks like. I feel like with the Marie Kondo folding method you can only see what color the item is.

    • @altitudeiseverything3163
      @altitudeiseverything3163 5 років тому +1

      Opal Sky - I literally just finished folding all my knits in the MK method before watching this video. I’m not really sure I’ll keep things that way. Unless each row of items is kept full and tight, it just seems that things will get messy easily. I never had any trouble finding what I wanted, keeping track of what I had, or keeping folded items tidy with the old folded stacks system. But then, I use Elfa drawers, rather than a dresser, which makes it easier to see what’s under the top layers. I’ll give it a try for a week, or two, though...

    • @opalskycanvas
      @opalskycanvas 5 років тому +3

      @@altitudeiseverything3163 I also disagree with how she recommends to fold socks. She says that the traditional method puts tension on the fibers and loosens them a bit but I don't care that much about the state of my socks. The original method is a simple method and I'm fine with it. You just have to do what works best for you, whatever feels right. Sometimes the most simple method is the best method.

    • @MiriamKeoshian
      @MiriamKeoshian  5 років тому

      I agree! It looks neat, organized and pretty but it is a pain on the butt to keep it that way, I try to keep it folded nicely but my daughters and husband make a mess when they take their shirts out, I know there must be a better way

    • @Vioven
      @Vioven 5 років тому

      @@opalskycanvas It takes LESS time to fold socks versus balling them. This isn't some high science, slap them together and flip them in half.

    • @opalskycanvas
      @opalskycanvas 5 років тому

      Vioven I read Marie Kondo’s book and it seemed more directed at people in Japan who often wear mid-calf length or knee length socks. The way these socks are folded are more important because if they get too loose they are less form fitting and start to sag. But for ankle length socks it doesn’t matter very much. I personally prefer the original “rolling” sock folding method for ankle socks because I can simply throw them into a designated sock drawer and they won’t unfold.
