Big Ben is back striking the hours away. Hopefully notre-dame won't be too far off. I have heard that they have already started constructing the new spire exactly how the original one was. Including the deformations from the original which is cool. The base of that spire has already been lowered onto the roof.

it's amazing how in the US, churches are not allowed to ring their bells because of noise complaints and it is considered noise nuisance. To me, there is nothing better than church bells on the hour, alerting you to the time of day and there is something comforting about church bells on sunday at 11AM... it's not as if they ring bells for hours or at 6AM

When you hear its bells ringing from a far from across the land it brings a sence of belonging to the land that your apart of. I felt emotional for notre dame . I do believe most of the bell towers around the world were designed and built before our time, before a reset, a cataclysm. If you se the technology of some of the greatest remaining, they are grand instruments similar to an organ. The re is a video somewhere online of a lady playing it. Unbelievable if you didn’t see her play and the myriad of different shaped bells and the quantity. They were not necessarily even churches. Not everything in the old world is a temple or sanctuary.

The French State owns the building and since it was priceless insurance won't "cover it." And you also believe that the firefighters were in on it and purposely saved the cross? And even IF this was on purpose (which it wasn't), why can't people donate money to it? What is the problem with donating to save an internationally beloved monument?

Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young
In a world of magnets and miracles
Our thoughts strayed constantly and without boundary
The ringing of the division bell had begun
Along the Long Road and on down the causeway
Do they still meet there by the Cut?
There was a ragged band that followed in our footsteps
Running before time took our dreams away
Leaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the ground
To a life consumed by slow decay
    The grass was greener
    The light was brighter
    With friends surrounded
    The nights of wonder
Looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us
To a glimpse of how green it was on the other side
Steps taken forwards, but sleepwalking back again
Dragged by the force of some inner tide
At a higher altitude with flag unfurled
We reached the dizzy heights of that dreamed of world
Encumbered forever by desire and ambition
    There's a hunger still unsatisfied
Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon
Though down this road we've been so many times
    The grass was greener
    The light was brighter
    The taste was sweeter
    The nights of wonder
    With friends surrounded
    The dawn mist glowing
    The water flowing
    The endless river
    Forever and ever

Theres something about gothic architecture that's just so incredible and awe inspiring. Just look at that exquisite detail that literally no one would think about. Like that angel in the middle playing a trumpet. Whoever built that probablly never rough anyone would even realize it was there, and yet they put the effort to place it there. And the way it's designed to make you feel small. Im sure that it truly feels like you're in the presence of a more powerful being. I love gothic architecture so so much

I listened to these bells within that song from the beginning of the movie detailing who is that man living up in the tower ringing those beautiful, glorious bells. I mean, you can actually hear them, thinking of the Hunchback himself, but we are all supposed to think of how majestic and beautiful they are combined with the beauty of the cathedral itself, because since that disastrous fire, you hear them and you think if you ever wanted to see Notre Dame for the first time, but now it'll take a miracle to rebuild the whole wondrous Gothic site.

Here is a relaxing description I came up with.
Golden bells sway back and forth, each swing creating a Heavenly sensation in all those around it. You can't hear anything else, only the bells, they mesmerise you.
You levitate, you feel like you have ascended high up into the Gardens of Heavens, every tree perfect, every grass, every spots of stars. You hear the Angels sing a beautiful hymn, none like Earth. A hymn for God, the Holy spirit and the Son. There is light everywhere, no shadow ever enters the santity of Heaven. God made that light, and you feel warm.
    Thanks for listening.
