Why does America still have an electoral college choose its head of state?! It’s so weird that in 2024 they can’t even trust themselves to vote. Fair enough in 1789 but they’ve had plenty of time since then to fix it. Strange.

If there was no electoral college, no other people in the United States would have to bother voting, except for voters in California and voters in New York. Nobody in the interior of the country would have a say in the running of their country. Whichever party controlled the west coast states and the east coast states would control the outcome of every, single presidential election. The elector college was never something to be changed later. As much as many people believe that was the intention at the onset of the country due to the (for the sake of a better phrase) lack of technology, it was not.

There’s no good reason for it, other than racism of course: Can’t have “urban” people collectively making decisions that affect the whole country 😂🙃🙃 why not?
