The director set the mini-series before the events of Resident Evil 6, in order to have more freedom with the younger incarnations of Leon and Claire, as he noted they were too popular and thus he wanted to be careful with their characterizations. The new character named Jason is meant to mirror his sense of justice because of their similar backgrounds and ideas on how to deal with partners. He was warned to remember the mini-series "was animation" during the interactions between them and to maintain tension.
So it's a bad miniseries taking place before a bad video game 🎮

The eventual 5 part miniseries titled Infinite Darkness - The Beginning was pushed back to 8 March and then to September but is delayed again with its final release date being December 21. A graphic novel collection containing all five parts is currently scheduled for a March release in 2024.

I liked this series, but it was way too short
It didn't start so bad, have potential, but the ending was so disappointing.

I thought that Infinite Darkness was okay at best definitely one of the weakest entries in the Resident Evil animated universe
Death Island was the same if not worse. Death Island was awkward if not boring. I can’t remember a single standout scene in that movie. The 3 previous movies had some memorable scenes. Degeneration: final fight, Damnation final fight, and Vendetta Chris and Leon hallway scene.

@@boboboy8189 Even that sucked. It was all around boring. Some scenes dragged on too long others were too quiet (a lot of scenes could have benefited from some BGM) the whole movie felt rushed tbh.
