Is it weird that I LOVE singing whatever comes to my head to this stuff? If so, oh well, I'm weird. :D Awesome track, thank you for sharing it with us.
As far as I'm concerned it's an essential piece of advice for any blues player who wants to be good sooner than later. The best way to learn scales is to build an intuitive memory of them with your ears and fingers, not your mind. Not only will you be able to play the right notes but you might even naturally develop your own altered scale and you'll be sounding unique and exactly how you want to sound.
Gosh, sometimes you have to go back to the basics to learn new things. Been looking for good tracks to practice my harmonies for days and this is totally it! Thanks dude.
Exactly as Marshall said, but if you want a start, try playing minor over all the chords and adding some major on the root chord (A). Since this switching would be really tiring (and break the feeling of the thing), just try adding some major notes over the minor scale on the A.
Yeah play some complicated scale... or just play the minor pentatonic and add the blue note, you've got more heart and love in them 6 notes than any other scale
I could be wrong, but try this...Most blues use a I IV V (1 4 5) chord progression. Since this track is in A, you would use A(I), D(IV), and E(V). For a track in C, you would use C, F, &G. For one in D, you would use D, G, &A. Good luck with your blues song!
@DoomedxShadow you can play whatever you want... i heard someone say once that the blues doesn't necessarily just happen when you're playing the minor and major pentatonic scales, it's when you venture outside of them that makes meaningful blues.
There are many ways tof playing hrough blues changes. One is to use the Minor 7/11 pentatonic scale also the major 6/9 pentatonic. You can alternate back and forth. You can can play 7th arpeggio's and extensions (9,11,13) and use different voicings of the chords for riffs and chord solo's. There are double stops thirds and 6ths (4th and 5ths) .You can add chromatic tones to the arpegio's or pentatonic scales. You can use major modes and altered scales ( diminished whole tone half tone)
@usedtocould2 thanks. but I'm putting all my energy on the majore chromatic scale as of the moment. to learn it all around the neck. Then arpeggios. So I could mix up my arppegios with my majore, minore pentatonics and blue notes.
Blues scale contains the flat 3rd, flat 5th, and flat 7th, all from the minor scale. (Okay, the flat fifth is an attempt by Western music to capture quarter tones from African scales.) It's playing those minor-scale notes in the lead against the major-scale backing that gives the blues its sound.
By the way, the reason why you can use an A minor pentatonic on the A major chord is because using the minor scale over the major chord progression will build up tension. You can use this tension to create a climatic sense, and then disperse it by using definitively major notes (such as the C#, which is the major third).
@RemingtonNevada --- At the level you're at, I wouldn't worry about modes -- most people think they're playing modes when they're just raising and lowering notes in major or minor --- MODES are when the key center is something other than the 1 [Key of C 1=C major scale] Move the key center to 2 you have Dorian mode [play Cmajor scale starting with D] -- -- If I were at your level [everyone was once] I would concentrate on both major and minor pentatonic Major pent. leaves out the 4 and 7
Seriously, you can jam to this FOREVER. Not sure how anyone could give this a thumbs down. Tremendous practice track.
They thumb it down because they can't play. I can't either but its still a good track. lol.

Thank you, man! :D
@iggvf most definitely man.. usually you can always use a minor scale to compliment a major scale. especially in pentatonic blues. keep jamming man
super cool it´s a real bleus
thanks dude!
@usedtocould2 thanks. but I'm putting all my energy on the majore chromatic scale as of the moment. to learn it all around the neck. Then arpeggios. So I could mix up my arppegios with my majore, minore pentatonics and blue notes.
@johntuggle It is awesome!! Im playing right now im my new bought Gibson Les Paul. Nice way to test it :D
agreed! thanks!

Very useful
That's true but it is also essential to know what notes your'e playing
Try to mix some A mixolydian with A minor pentatonic and play it with this, sounds awesome!
ah yes goooooooooooooooooooooooooood track!
Thank you! :D
