Just played my first solo over this where I heard what I wanted to play in my head and was able to just express it. It was simple, it was amateurish, it wasn't even worth recording, but gatdamn it felt good! I finally get it!
+AceGunnerHD Same here. For the first time in my 2-3 years of playing around with the guitar , i just felt like i was capable of playing the guitar musically. I just had a really great time...
That’s exactly right! Play the blues how you feel. Technique will come later. The blues is about emotion and letting it come through your axe: (aka, your musical instrument of choice).
Regardless. There's so many different ways to name musical concepts. The main point is that you know the rules then break them or just play what sounds good to you. In music I don't really believe in 100% anything. I'm glad you like the track and have a great day!
Great backing track,, one the I chord (A7) i use the A Major pentatonic along with A7 arpeggios, 4 chord D7 i use the A minor pentatonic with D7 arpeggios, 5 chord E7 I use A Major pentatonic with E7 arpeggios......on the turnaround E7 i use A minor pentatonic with E7 arpeggios ,,I try to play out of the chord using the Arpeggios and sparingly use the pentatonic layering as i go through the song ...just thought I would share.
Nick Johnston I agree. Anyone who has put in real time in the woodshed knows how hard it is and doesn't rag on other people. This is true in life really. Anyone who has really tried at anything know the difficulty of becoming good at something and doesn't rag on others who are trying.
This is deceptively hard to play tastefully over due to the slow speed. It's a brilliant track for practising airing out all the spaces and not 'overplaying'.
Nice for filling in all those spaces between changes with something tasteful and sweet. It helps top slow right down sometimes and pick and choose what I want to play. Thanks
Awesome track! I haven't been able to find tracks as slow as this one, but this tempo is perfect for that smokey emotional style of blues playing I'm after! Keep up the good work.
Ohh man, you sure nailed it with this one. I wasn't expecting such a tasteful style here. Thank you for not needing to play a lot of notes, you just play the important ones. What Style !!! Cheers, Gk. - love to hear more.... thx for sharing...
this is actually quite simple to play something to this fine tune. this is actually my first time playing along with a back track and i just let my fingers to the talking. great back tracking tune.
This is one simple backing track, nothing more than really slow 12 bar but still damn amazing to play over, made my guitar jizz at the ending, certainly something I will get back to!
I like that the instruments don't sound fake and that there's some piano in there. Good jam track. I just put my POD on Fender Black Panel and away I go.
Either man, that's the joy of the blues! Mix up the blues scale (minor pentatonic with a flat 5) and the mixolydian mode (play on the tritone interval between the maj 3rd and min 7 which is what gives it it's dominant sound). Clapton does it all the time.
It stands for the key of the chord progression. To make it the key of "A" there has to be some specific chords in it, you can't choose randomly. Sound wise they key of A means that the A tone sounds like the resolution point (it sounds right. There are 12 tone in western music, but the a tone sounds "right" when you are playing over this.
major blues has both a major 3rd and minor 3rd, and has a very chromatic sound to it. It comes in handy for passing tones and quick runs. SRV used it all the time.

That's the best part of hearing is in your head!!
AceGunnerHD that's what it's all about 😎🎸

Also great to practice slow chords changes:
A7 | D7 | A7 | A7 |
D7 | D7 | A7 | A7 |
E7 | D7 | A7 - D7 | A7 - E7 ||
All chords played for a full bar except where indicated.
A7 - D7 - A7 - A7
D7 - D7 - A7 - A7
E7 - D7 - A7(1/2) D7(1/2) - A7(1/2) E7(1/2)
great b track
Cheers

aye would help if someone cared tho
Axe Man 10 bucks says that cats got it sounding better than you do lol
I agree with that 100%. Big ups to James Orcutt. Thumbs down to Axe Man who bashes someone who shares the way he plays it.

We really do not care- we just play the damn thing !
