I really agree with the comment that it may be neighbors. They saw your videos about possible air b and b, knew that the previous owner didnt have permits, and reported it. Regardless of who did it, you are being a responsible home owner and Father. You restore my faith in what it really means to be a man. You will regroup! Maybe the previous owner, since his work was dissed, Or maybe a viewer guessed the buildings weren't permitted because of all the problems with the construction..
Seems to me someone knew they were built without permits, instead of blaming the internet maybe look closer to home. Neighbor's or maybe the seller. Your base would not know they were built without permits. You could be looking at this all wrong. Possible your neighbors watched your videos and didn't like the idea of Airbnb's so close to their homes. Just spitballin here. You should have a demolition party, have a bunch of friends over, feed and hydrate them get it done a lot quicker.

Hi Isaac. Having recently purchased a property in Eugene a year ago we learned through our realtor that anything that's not permitted CANNOT be written in the MLS description or contract or any other place where they list it. We bought a place with a studio in the back yard that was built by the owner, who was a General Contractor! But he didn't want to spend the money to get it permitted at the time. So, I'm wondering if this property was ever listed on MLS, or if the other structures were put in the contracts. Additionally, it was not known if our fireplace was permitted and we assumed it wasn't since it was so hard to get a direct response on this. In the contract there was a line item for the fireplace ... permitted or not permitted. Ultimately, it turned out it was permitted and the sellers provided the paperwork. Are you aware that the University of Oregon Law School has a program/fund so that Law students can help people in the community at extremely low cost? To see if you qualify, it would definitely be worth making some calls.

Isaac, this has inside job written all over it, somebody knew they were built without permits and ratted on you. Nobody else knew but the builder or builders and neighbors. Something to ponder.
Or that someone who knew wanted that property for a steal and the original owner wouldn't do it so that person screwed you. Or it was the person who maybe built those buildings screwing the original owner and now Isaac. People are so damn evil. But, I must agree it's someone who had to know about that property.

Those scenarios might have some truth to them, I don't know. But it's not the first time Isaac and his family were "attacked" in the recent past. This person also made a call about Ember which they had to deal with. This was just before the land thing. I don't think it's about the property so much as it's someone with some perceived grievance against this little family.

Issac, I know of real-estate lawyers, my neighbor build their fence on our property and we took it down & they sued us. We spent about 10 thousand dollars and they spent 20 because he hired 5 different lawyers who kept dropping out. We hired a REAL-ESTATE LAWYER who said they were wrong and unreasonable. We went to court, the judge sent us to mediation where we settled the fence so call issue , our fence was left up we gave them 300 dollars which the lawyer paid out of his pocket. The neighbor did not get any other unreasonable demands from us. The reason for the large legal costs because every time they sends a letter or talk to them, you, the court. It cost money to you and he spent more money because he kept changing lawyers. We won because we had a survey, we had a great knowledge lawyer and they were wrong and unreasonable. So I would suggest you sell the camper and keep the truck you need to haul stuff away, etc. A truck is essential when you have a house because you are always fixing , moving stuff.

I’ve done 3 days water fasts ! They were amazing , but the first 24 hours is hard . My advice is to make sure you drink electrolytes ( a bit of salt ) in your water and have different drinks for breakfast, lunch and dinner . For example , black coffee breakfast, herbal green tea for lunch and camomile tea for dinner

You can buy fasting salts to keep your electrolytes in balance , just to be safe . Once your body switches over to fat burning mode , you will lose your appetite and I started to feel really calm and peaceful because my sugar cravings went away . Dr Jason Fung I believe is the Dr who pioneered this fast . He had great utube videos! But , if people are on meds and have certain medical conditions they might need to be careful about fasting .

County staff/ employees are *not* the people that can help you -- you need the help of the *elected county representatives* . You're a very personable and respectable young man with good values. Did you take out a conventional mortgage? If so, talk to their legal dept., It would be in their best interest to be involved with the process with regards to the value of the property and getting a new appraisal minus the illegal structures. Good luck.

Isaac my sister and her son both had to replace connectors on sinks, shower, hot water heater in their mobile homes. The thing is different manufacturers. So I guess they just don’t last long. I never owned mobile home but did buy older home well built home. Still had to replace various fixtures

Sad you have to sell your truck but you do have to payout so much for dumping all that material you need to demo. Hope your lawyer can recoup the money back from the previous owner. The person or people who turned you in really went to extremes with this. I just bought a house. Had many inspections done. House was being sold as is. Found a couple minor issues. Told them no deal until it's fixed by my people and to my satisfaction. He did it. Had new electrical service put in. Thanks to you double checked the permit to make sure it was signed off on. Got homeserve to cover inside and outside gas, electrical, plumbing and sewer line. American Home Shield covers all appliances, heat,ac,roof repair, water heater. Everything covered for 55 a month. It's half off for the 1st year. Gives me some time to restock the bank account. It is very costly to own a home. Hopefully everything works out for you guys. Praying for you. Your a good person and you will prevail.

It sucks that you need to sell that rig -- that's never fun.
Also, I'm glad you haven't gotten the demolition permits yet -- you may not need to do that after all. I'll briefly repeat what I posted earlier: You and JD *appealed to the wrong people* to try and get relief from the permit issues.
I can't say about the workshop for sure, however, for the other structures, the deal is this -- the County staff, Ie *the administration* does not have the authority to grant you relief -- their whole job is to make sure you are in compliance with the bylaws and regulations.
Often those regulations or bylaws can be arbitrary or irrelevant (not always, it can depend on many things) and sometimes the regulations are simply out of date. Yet the administrators (read County staff/ employees) must ensure the rules/ bylaws are adhered to strictly.
You need to appeal to, or present your case, to the *elected representatives* at a council meeting. The elected representatives are the ones who drafted and voted the bylaws into being in the first place, and it is *they* who have the *authority* to consider whether you should or could be exempted from those rules.
Try introducing yourselves to one or two of your local county representatives, and explain your situation to them, and ask if they would be willing to help you out by bringing your plight before the council --- it's *possible* they would be personable, and sympathetic to you ( as a productive young member of the community) and be willing to intervene on your behalf.
The fact that you've already applied for the demolition permits will help, because it shows that you fully intend to follow the rules, despite the unfair burden it places on you. This might earn you both the respect and sympathy that could bring the council onside with you.
I truly hope you try this, as it could save you much trouble and money, and perhaps even get you some friends with some "sway" in the area.

Point being, people can be horrible. Another point, the seller of that property knew what was going on and if you didn't have a home inspection it's going to be rough. I know how that can tear you apart emotionally/physically and financially makes you feel absolutely destroyed especially in today's economy. Hang in there and someway I would think you could inquire of the state or a property lawyer what the heck can you do about trying to get hold of the prior owner and having him hold some responsibility for what was done on that property........probably more difficult than finding a needle in haystack. We've had lots of dealing in some of those items and it's no walk in the park to be sure. God bless, I will keep you in my prayers and hope to heaven there is a leak somewhere that you can find just the right person or way in which to fix things or at least have lightening strike with a fix to it all. Difficult situation for sure and it sure can put stress in the home as it's on everyones mind..........I can't believe some people in this world today.......who intentionally go out to hurt people.

Maybe the previous owner or someone in his family reported you. Maybe they been watching the videos and you or Jaylena said some not so nice things about the property and it offended them. I live in New York. I’m not familiar with Oregon or your county rules. But if this happened to me, I’d go back to the Title company because they were responsible to investigate the property and certify that everything on land is within local rules and codes. But it will be smart to get a zoning law attorney.

Honestly when this first happened my first thought was that it would end up being someone that has a personal axe to grind with one of you. This a a hateful hurtful act that doesn’t just affect you and Jaylena but an innocent little girl. It takes a special kind of person to do stuff like this.
