Jay Meagher's New Channel | Introducing RS Garage
Loving your new channel Jay super chill and easy to follow what you’re doing. Are you going to be doing more work with Mazworx in the future? They’re currently building my SR for my S15 would love to see a bit more of yourself and Mark doing some breakdown/build videos.
HKS trigger kit is the best option
Great content!
The oil drainage on these heads is a issue aswell as the part on the block where the external oil feed is taken off of. It cracks around that treaded take off. Look like the PRP brace solves that problem by reinforcement of the centreline.
I think he likes that smell😂
@ 11:50 that explains a lot about 😂😂😂
What’s your perfect Friday? Watch Jay from Real Street tear down engines lol
It’s a horrible smell in a 2AZ-FE, EJ25, and my 2JZ.
Definitely need more RB content Jay. Keep it going.
You don't need more than 500-600whp for an S30. They will become a complete handful at that whp. They are light. Spin that sucker to 10,000 rpms or a little higher and it will make a glorious sound.
Nissan metallurgy in its components are top tier Japanese OEM, specially their fasteners are amongst the best. here in Australia there's 2000hp RB that run OEM flywheel bolts! While the 2j is superior in many parts the nissan racing heritage is unmatched therefore leading to plenty of data to making a better product with less mass. These can rev to almost 9k in standard form without much issues.
Great teardown. It may not be the strongest but she’s gonna sing!
Fred Gibson Motorsport deserves a big shout-out for what they did with the R32 in group A racing here in Australia. Godzilla was born.
11:44 is definitely you vs the guy she said not to worry about scenario xD
lol this is crazy spot on
I don't know about the smell on the main bolts, but after removing the rod bolts on my JZ this past week my garage was filled with a burnt smell. I rather liked it. Disappointed I couldn't find a scented candle that matched the aroma.
You need to do a video with Herman from PRP
They did already ..
I love these, I always learn so much. Thank you!
If you only do one bore size
More info on the rear sump ?
What info u need?
Hey j, great content. Question do you lube the block side of the threads or dry on both head and main studs ? Also arp washer side that contact the clyinder head amd main caps, dry or lube ?
ARP themselves will tell you to go by the instructions that are included with box of hardware as they may upgrade or change their process as time goes on (and they have/do) I am not Jay but I am certain he will agree. FYI ARP does have the directions to all of their hardware on their site.
Yes we follow the instructions. The end that threads into the engine block we use a small amount of light motor oil. The threads with the broach get ARP ultra Toque, along with the bottom of the nuts. You want the side of the washer that contacts the cylinder head dry and clean to avoid it rotating while torquing. We will have a full video about this soon, thanks!
At what point do the 8740’s become necessary? I have a stock 1jz vvti but have plans for the future of course
Great information, it's almost like you're reading my recent search history with this one😅
Glad it was helpful, if you need any help visit our site and reach out!
@RS_Garage_US primarily interested in 625+ head studs for the VG30 platform, unfortunately ARP does not actively make them, although they have in the past in batches.
@@Billy_Built Send me an email and I'll look into that for you. rsgarageus@gmail.com ~ Jay
Great information!!
Thanks for watching!
Jay can you do a video on oil pumps before installing on engine. Like what to do prior to installing.
I have an 89 suburban im interested in this engine how much $ will i be looking at for a build like this ...
Are you a Ford or a Chevy guy? YES!
Billet all the things 😤🤙
2JZ the world
Gen 1, small block chevy guy here who just enjoys watching videos with people passionate about their craft.
beautiful piece, Jay is the belt-stay or retainer an integral component? I've only realised mine is missing recently and it was probably 5 years ago that the car had the head off/cams done (at a shop). The timing belt has the slightest of quivers across the cam gears but isn't getting worse. Im going to replace what I need to replace before it hits the track again, I do my own wrenching now lol
It's a service part. Imagine in the field you pull the head without pulling the balancer. The stay allows the tech to not have to mess with the lower timing belt. Just service the head and re time the engine ~ Jay
@@RS_Garage_US Thanks for the reply, that makes perfect sense! I now know what the part is for.
Hey! There’s my engine! ❤
I remember way back when JTO sold UHMW motor mounts for 240's. He builds some amazing stuff now, as you said.
1JZ variant?
It's in the works now ~Jay
🇦🇬 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. 🙇🏾♂️
I dont own a jz or even dream about owning one, id still watch Jay install gorgeous parts on one for 10 minutes everyday
I literally came here to say the same thing.
What's the difference in cost between aluminium billet block 2jz and the dart and also strength weight wise?
A billet block will run 10k+ depending on which manufacturer you chose, where the dart will be about half once all the machining is done.
All the 2J's is awesome
KENNY is a legend!
Niceeeee. That guy looks familiar
29:42 #Lifers, nailed it. What is retirement when you love what you do?
I would love to hear a SERIOUS breakdown from you on Backpressure. We all know how it robs power but not everyone understands the fringe effects. ie- temps, detonation, stall, %of HP lost or gained, etc. Or the COMPOUND effects.
What kinda cock tease video is this!? Wheres the other 58min that weve grown to love and expect!?!?
Hey Jay did you use the CA 625’s or L19 instead of Dart’s main studs?
This engine has the 1/2" ARP 8740 kit.
@@RS_Garage_US I see and I watched you video about the L19 be susceptible to corrosion since I’ll be using methanol only would you suggest I use the 8740 kit or does the CA 625 come in a 1/2 inch kit?
Great clip
the linear progression of cars, beginning with detailed overview, followed by POV cockpit cam, then a post-run brief, makes this video production one of the best and semi-pro overall. Obviously, you have to limit the amount of subject matter but could watch much more of same, please. Appreciate this effort and Thanks
Is it going on Meth next? I was surprised you were still on Ethanol
Just wish his v6 stuff wasn't so freaking EXPENSIVE!
1 of the greatest legends Kenny was my childhood hero on the TURBO GN world! 🇺🇸💪🏻
The way I was told about backpressure as a kid! I was told to squeeze my member the next time I go to piss! He said if you don’t like it, do you think the engine does 🤣🤣🤣🤣! It’s really odd that most people don’t know who Kenny or Gale is 😳😳😳😳! They have been building race engines since, because most of us were born!
Good to Kenny still getting it done, I lived in Oxnard when he was in Saticoy, I used to take my Distributor for my 440 69 Superbee in 76
