Nice one mate, watched your unboxing review and immediately bought one. Also bought the Border Models A5/A6 version too. Fantastic videos. Thanks again.
Good to see you back in action Rick! And what a return, with a beautifull build! Great job done converting this leo to the one you wanted. Clean and tidy build. Thanks for sharing, take care and keep up the good work my friend.
Hey Rick. I still haven't touched my Canadian Leopard. But hopefully I will start on it in the near future. I've had some life changes that occured over the past months. So everything was put on hold. But I'm planning on starting back on my projects this weekend.
I don't know why youtube held your comment but I just saw it and approved. Sorry for the long response . Sorry to here but hopefully things are getting somewhat "ok" again.
Got the Border one around a month ago and what a kit, then bought the RFM kit about week ago and Wow! Thinking that Border and RFM got to together to produce their tanks as hard to tell apart! and been buying Takon tracks as they look the easier to build out of all of them.
Great kit. I have the normal version and just got the one with full interior. I’m planning to update one of them too and add the new armour plate above the ultracap on the turret. Probably will stay with 2A6 though, they too tor the update on the turret as all leopards are retrofitted with the new SOTAS IP communication stations
Great Thank-you. I have a full interior coming. Somewhere in the mail. I I have a meng 2a7 I plan to try and upgrade to new standard. I'm also going to try and update another 2a6 with all the new stuff. Fun times!
That kit looks really nice. ive got a RFM firefly to build next and im impressed with all the details. Only built 5 kits since i started in the hobby a year ago and i have yet to paint a 3 tone camo 😅 But the Leopard looks so good.
If you really enjoy the Hobby, get a good air brush. It really makes painting better.. especially doing the camo. It's a big purchase but will last you a lifetime as long as you keep it clean.
Lovely work on this model I need to build another leopard at some point, I really like how you did the camo net on the first one you showed at the end how did you go about making that?
Sorry for the late answer. Thank you for your kind words. I used cheese or surgical gauze and then pieces of painted paper that I used a small hole punch to create the small pieces. I glued it with diluted white glue.
Hi Rick, can you do the hobbyboss bergepanzer 3 before the resin kit as I believe there are parts that are missing,ie adjustment, ust got the rfm leopard 2 with full interior,so looking to building it myself, look forward to future builds
Beautifully painted. May I know what green did you use ? The great thing is that you are able to paint the camouflage pattern without the help of using any masking, it really required skill to achieved that.
Got this kit arriving soon looks a great build seen the kit with full interior always find an interior in armour tanks in particular pointless its hidden apcs with the door opening I can understand.
Rad-Lackierschablone Leopard 2 A5/A6 (Border). I got 1 for the Leopard 2 and 1 for the puma. It cost 8.50$ (US) about 3 years ago. I got them from Modellbau Konig out of Germany.

Hey Rick, I just completed my first nato camo scheme using this RFM kit. I did it freehand as you did. However, I have to say my camo pattern is a bit more simplified than reference materials I've seen. In other words, I couldn't get all the little curves and squiggles in the color patches. What you using for a reference template of the scheme? And second, how did you get all the fine detail of the camo pattern? It looks like you might just be using a fine airbrush nozzle?
I have done a lot of Leo's so I darn near have the pattern memorize but I do yous an air brush. I have an iwata .05 mm. I've never been big on freehand. After I paint it I come back with a fairly thinned paint and do Suttle touch ups to clean the edge. The RFM kit has the right paint pattern but it's not the best print so it's hard to see. I also have every tankograd book on modern German stuff. I Doba lot of reference checks.

Hey Rick I noticed slight misalignment on the left front turret angled armor, on both of my models that I build ( the RFM leo 2a6 and RFM leo 2a6 full interior) and I noticed it on your model 2 , is this a mistake by the company or the real Leo is like that , this thing really bothers me
I understand your concern. I had that also. Simple answer.. yes they are correct and they are out of alignment. The right side is further forward then the left.. the add on armor is the same size but the actual turret is further forward a lightly on the right, gunners side.
just saw that meng and trumpeter have the same misalignment maybe the real leo is like that very strange , but only the chinese companies have it.@@Ricks135scalemodels
