- Hi Star Wars collectors, so yesterday I attended a presentation by Hasbro where they answered questions about The Vintage Collection Haslab Cantina. In this video I go through their answers and offer my thoughts!

I love the Design.If it was $100-$120 less, I'd probably back it.
I'm a Fan, but I have my Limits
If it was $120 less it'd be the cost of the Throne room, with 2 more figures.
I think $280-$300 is about right.
$300 should be the Max price for the basic Cantina.
the US price feels a little bit more fair but in Europe paying 579,99 + 15 euro shipping is a bad deal. if it included the 6 i would have no doubt.
The bonus tiers should've been multiple 4 packs of the cantina aliens, so you'd unlock them in sections

I think if they added the same figures that come carded loose as well it would have backed a lot quicker in my opinion
this is probably their new format, to prevent uncontrollable questions
And if they flub and let something slip out they can edit it out before posting the presentation.
11 figures to support a Haslab at the jump is huge and unprecedented. It's a great start and no one can realistically complain that they're not supporting the cantina. They supported the barge over the years with the skiff and additional figures four-five years after the fact.
Their track record with Haslab support is excellent and I think a little trust/faith has been earned at this point. I'm eager for the cantina, I have literally every cantina figure made so far. I know not everyone does, but be patient. 11 figures to put in the cantina already is a great, great start.
Idk, they promised to further the o-ring gi joes after the skystriker and they punted it to super7 which is trash.
Forget the Pipeline. Throw that figure in with the Haslab!
Because they're trying to maximize profits. But if they made Momaw Nadon an exclusive to this project, then this probably would get to 17k.

Some ppl see exactly what Hasbro is selling here & they love it. Some see an incomplete playset. Neither are wrong. It'll back, so everyone who wants it will be at least partially pleased. A decent HasLab effort and we can all move on to the next one

@bobtiki9767 maybe then have the floor modular also. It would have been very simple for them to figure it out. I'm just saying. Many people brought it up . A simple "Oh well, the Cantina is modular" to me is a poor excuse.
It was 💯% back in my opinion! Will we get all the tiers I'm not sure. I know there's a huge push last 48hours of campaign! So I'm hoping we are at least past Greedo tier & close to the next so we get all tiers backed!
Why didn’t they address the alcoves not having proper roofs?
Ring the HasLab team for me and tell them unless there's a little battery operated soundboard and speaker in the band's stage module that plays 'The Cantina Theme'..the deal is off.

Honestly that would have made a world of difference.
Would be better as a Hasbro Pulse themed project where I could buy each Modular Section separately over time.
Also, would like a Roof for each Modular Section.
But it has to be Reasonably Priced.
This was probably the worst handling of a Haslab. First they leak the photos, then they delay the reveal and then don't give us the full 45 days. I think the higher ups just told them it's Star Wars and we need money. I don't use Twitter/X or Instagram so the only info I got was from facebook people and the You Tube reveal. They are relying on the customers too much. They need to take a step back and focus all of their attention on one Haslab at a time. They should also pay you guys for all the work they should be doing.
When I created my Cantina using the Power of the force cardboard setup, I filled it with every produced figure thus far and it cost me nearly a grand 3 years ago. Now with this Cantina, those figures are going up daily and getting even more rare. We'll see.
Yeah I'm backing this Haslab but not looking forward to having to track all these damn figures I will need. Ain't gonna be cheap everyone rushing for the same figures is making the prices skyrocket no doubt! For a Haslab like this with so many figures needed to fill up the scene they really should do a better job of at least saying look we will reissue some of those legends line figures that are expensive like Tim mentioned. Just saying look we can guarantee if this backs we will reissue or make new figures of at least 10 figures in the next few years! That would go a long way! With them re using old legends molds that can easily be done!
Damn… just curious… how many figures have been released for the cantina? (Excluding Chewie, Jawas, Luke, Obiwan, and stormtroopers.)

Just use sawdust for the floor. Like all the rough pubs did back in the day. It was easier to sweep up blood, broken glass and missing teeth at the end of the night. No, really. Pretty appropriate for the cantina with dead Rodians, severed Aqualish arms and whatnot, lol...
I made my own custom cantina last year and bought all the figures in the last two years. They were expensive, but I'm happy I did it because now they're going to be much more expensive.
Awesome. If only I had your hindsight! 😂 I'll be paying through the nose 👃 😅 to get these figures now!

I think they pipelined him because he would have been released regardless. But yes scaling down the digital sculpt certainly helps them.
I’ve never backed a project but I’m really considering this one. If it’s not fully backed does it not get made and you are refunded?
They don’t charge you until the campaign is over. If it doesn’t meet the minimum backer count, you don’t get charged at all, so there’s no need for a refund. This is exactly what happened with the Black Series Rancor that didn’t fund.

The “no current plan” answer is the same one they gave with all the other TVC haslabs. They still have never released those.

Thanks for the update. I'd ask Haslab why the outside side walls are not textured/weathered. Extends the diorama potential (ie Dewback standing)
It feels like this is going to struggle to scrape the funding goal at this point, so I think any discussion about the non-core figure offerings will likely be entirely moot. And as for the base figures. this is Hasbro we are talking about here, remember! If there's money to be made from existing tooling, they sure as hell will rinse it for all it's worth. "We currently have no plans to release..." is their way of giving the answer people want to hear, whilst protecting it's crowd-fund. Because let's face it, if this had no figure offerings, there's no way it'd get close to funding. Prior successful crowd funds have had exclusive "editions" of figures, nothing has had a "unique" figure yet. Barge and Crest figs came out in other forms down the line and I suspect it'll be no different here. Although I'm really glad people are liking this and supporting it, this is a massive disappointment for me. It's horribly plasticy, has no unique features, zero playabililty and aside from the bar, 90 percent consists of one "modular" alcove. The price is criminal.The initial idea of the Haslab was always to produce a "dream" item we simply couldn't get any other way. The Barge is the ultimate example. Crest and Ghost have also been spot on. This just feels like something you'd find filling shelves in Walmart. Star Destroyer, Blockade Runner, or a Home One next time please Hasbros...
I still think they should give us the base figures loose as a tier as no one will want to open the carded figures
I have backed 3. Might get a 4th if I can swing it. Filling it can be done over the next year. Be patient. Don’t pay crazy figure prices right now.

Very excited now getting closer to being backed 🙌 But this whole Haslab campaign has been botched from the very start and continues to be so by Hasbro … leaks, clarification videos, weak advertising and now this strange ‘cloak and dagger’ Q&A 🤷♂️

I think it would be common sense that if you are running on a short timeline, dont offer a product that’s $400-$500, maybe start with something half that price. 🤷♂️
This is bizarre. Hasbro marketing is MIA on this HasLab. Nearly all the promotion is being done by fan-sites. I’m sorry you were under pressure to attend - should have been a video on their socials! Get it together Hasbro!

Figures should be exclusive even the tier figures! Those of us fubding the Haslabs are paying for the tooling. We expect then to be limited edition. Not able to reissue them for years to come when we paid for tooling costs & they reap the benefits! Plus having them exclusive keeps the resale price up making them more desirable.
Cheer's Tim thanks the in depth video, I'm so tempted to back! But if we don't get the 17000, backer's were paying £500 deluxe for 3 figures and a diorama, they already said price was based on all tiers, 6 figures, let's hope! 👍

Great honest stuff as always! Now the real question WILL IT GET BACKED?? I just listed a duplicate Imperial shuttle to pay for it SO BACK THE CANTINA PEOPLE its a great set.
Kinda surprised about how much negative I read about this haslab, I mean it's prolly one of the only playsets that can work with any figure from any era honestly. You can have rebel pilots sitting around a table, Jawa mingling around, a group of mandolorians hanging out, group of imperial officers (like the 4-pack, which honestly are just standing alone on most of our shelves) could be sitting having a drink. I don't really have any of the Cantina aliens, so mine is going be full of mandos, jedis, bounty hunters, A few Ewoks, rebel pilots that I don't have a ship for...
Exactly, and even if you are passing you should be rooting for it to back so other projects can continue in the future!

While its unlikely they will re-release the Tonnika sisters outside the haslab, I honestly think they should! Many of us have been wanting these figures for years and when they finally announce them its with the huge caveat that you have to back the haslab! I don't think its fair that if you can't afford the Cantina, you won't be able to get them! Its another big slap in the face to collectors from Hasbro!
Hiya biker I thought the ghost figures were exclusive until,they released them on separate cardbacks albeit with less accessories and different colours I suspect they will release all these figures the same way 😊
Look at the failed Engine of Vengance Haslab. They said the wouldn't and now they have released a failed Haslab exclusive figure in the Black Heart wave. "No plans AT THE MOMENT" means just that. Not right now... but latter? Sure.

I hate the idea of a multi billion dollar company crowdfunding projects, but if its the only way collectors can get a hold of these items, then fair enough. But at least give people the option of a payment plan like sideshow does! If they had a payment plan for this, i'd probably be able to afford it!

@@georgeaitken2719 They will release them outside the Haslab. They said the cardbacks are what they wouldn't reissue. These are figures everyone wants and it would be stupid to never release them again a few years down the line. Plus they'll need to reissue it so they can paint their faces the correct color given these versions are Caucasian and their faces are clearly blue and green on the cardbacks and in the movie.
This will all end in tiers

They need to repack and rerelease the Legacy Collection figures. Such an easy repack.
Also the deluxe version should've just been for the 400 price and the figures should be a guarantee not in tiers. Why would someone want to buy an incomplete cantina that's a weird option. Hasbro is always nickel and diming collectors. There also should have been more time to come up with the money to buy or at least a payment plan option like amazon does.
Plus everyone seems to want a floor, they should've included a simple sandpaper removable floor or something like that. Like it's 500 bucks (550 total) people shouldn't have to get their own extra custom floor that's ridiculous.
I'm backing this and I appreciate the effort and it seems epic but Hasbro really needs to be more generous with collectors especially with expensive exclusives and less greedy and lazy. Its more about the principle and treating die hard collectors right.

Some of the pipes of the distillery connect down to the bar, and up to the bar-roof-piece. I'm sure those are built to support.

This should be in the center of the room , on a lazy Susan, with a custom sand /dirt floor and a custom roof that can be removed. I’m in on the GIJoe Haslab, I’ve moved on from Star Wars . Kinda sucks that you guys don’t get 6 figures , only $499.00 not including tax shipping for 3 only , maybe Greedo , good luck guys .
I’ve complained endlessly about the price being far too high, but the more I see of it the more I like the build after an initial bad impression. My finger is hovering over the trigger, and I think a lot of people are in the same boat. Hearing that it is getting future support probably has tipped me over, so thanks for the video

I hope everyone realizes they're not going to retool every figure that's been made for the Cantina. So you're going to have to take some as is, even though they're 15 or 20 years old. The 4 TLC on TVC cards as is. Same with all the OTC, TSC and TAC. Anything from the PotF and PotJ has to be brand new sculpts
Why not add some modular floor pieces if a backer would like to have a floor to provide them flexibility (and value)? Why not include a stage for extra value or display options? Their responses weren’t very convincing!!!!
Hasbro can’t help themselves. Just to make more money, they’ll release the unlocks at a future date. I know it’s a lot to expect, but if they’d included the basic figures and the unlocks as standard then included Leesub Sirln, Trento Diana, Pons Limbic and the lizard guy as unlocks, that would have backed in no time.
What’s the use of a Hammerhead if there is no Cantina to place him in. Good luck getting any of those unlock figures if it backs. And if that’s the case, no extra figures lessen the value even more. Also, a card back and extra accessories are one thing, but they will never lock a figure behind a HasLab. That’s why they skirt around the issue by saying “at this time”.
They never should have went modular with no floor - especially for $500. It cheapens it. This is the main reason I pass. At this point the only HasLabs I would support are an Echo Base or Death Star.
I'm of the opinion that these figures shouldn't be carded at all. What's the point? So you buy the cantina and get the cool exclusive figures with the cards anddddddd if you want to preserve them now you can't decorate the cantina set with them? OR you open them, there goes the cool exclusive cards. Even if you open them meticulously so as to not ruin the card, you've still defaced the package. I don't understand it.
And sure you could say "just wait for a reissue" but whyyyyy? It's just silly to me.
Are you going to open your figures? Try to buy extras on secondary market? Do you not care? I am curious. I don't see anyone else talking about this.
Sounds like a very weird experience Tim. Why on earth did they do this? Why have they released the video on their UA-cam, what’s the logic in keeping it as a private presentation and then having those if you who saw it pass it on when you are all slightly baffled by this bizarre marketing strategy. They seem to have lost their way as regards marketing this Haslab. Numbers at least seem to be going up, I’m still optimistic we’ll reach all the tiers, but if not looks like we might get them anyway 🤷🏻 or not 😂

I wouldn't mind splitting a basic one with someone....I just want the front entrance lobby and one seating area, sisters I guess, and the other person would get the bar, bartender Maher and the two other seating areas.

I commented earlier on Lindquist's transcribed post the same thing about the release of the figures outside of the Haslab. Habro: For Wuher and the Tonnika’s, "there are no CURRENT plans" … so that's a maybe. For the other three tiers if we unlock them, "we may or may not" … so also as maybe. Clears it right up! And now that spawns a QFWN so I'll go post that on your last Sunday's video.
There's no guarantees in the future if they'll release them and if they do, it could be real limited.

Wait - I am confused by the wording you gave re: the unlockable figures. Do you mean they could be available outside of the HasLab on different hardbacks ONLY if they get unlocked? Meaning if they are not unlocked, we will not get them at all?

No I think they meant they won't do them commercially if they're unlocked, only if they fail because otherwise the molds go to waste
I took it it to mean the other way, what we all were thinking. If they don’t back, there’s a good chance they WON’T release them on their own in the like. But if they do back and the tiers are reached, they might release them later in the line on different hardbacks. Basically, they don’t want to preclude themselves from releasing the figures individually in the future, since they will have the molds and plans. But they don’t want to people to think they’re guaranteed to be released later.
There isn’t going be a clearer answer to the question because Hasbro probably doesn’t really know what they’ll want to do in the future.
I’m SO CONFUSED! So let me get this straight, Hasbro’s Star Wars team had various influencers submit questions in advance and then join a video call yesterday where they answered random questions and talked more about the HasLab Cantina, but didn’t allow for any interaction from the participating sites and didn’t film or record the session, so fan sites have to just report about what they witnessed??? That sounds so ridiculous! 🤷♂️
They did record it. We just can’t publish it. So maybe they will do on their UA-cam channel

I get the feeling Hasbro want the best of both worlds. They want to ensure profitability by having backers guarantee to fund, but they don't want those people to be intimately involved in the development of the product itself. I don't think it's a good look.

I doubt this will get 8000. 1. Over priced. 2 resellers would be crazy to buy a bunch of these nobody will pay a dime more than the already gouging price point. 3. If it makes 8000 you just get 3 figured for what $900 in Canada snd Australia. They don’t listen to the buyers LARGE SANDCRAWLER. .
If it only it’s 8000 then the 3 included figures will be some of the rarest figures to ever be produced. Look at how much the mouse droid sells for these days.
Oh they will release those figures when it’s the right time. I guarantee it. Maybe slightly altered of course. They won’t be that rare then.
they probably made the cantina to go with the tonnika sisters because victoria's cantina youtube channel asked for the tonnika sisters and got one on her show, and then i messaged hasbro on their website to make the tonnikas because of what i saw on victorias channel and your channel bossk, that one of the sisters was either dead or not well and the other one wanted a figure, so i put that into my message to hasbro on their website, and they told me before this cantina was revealed that they sent my message to the appropriate people in the company for making the decisions about which figure to make.
I hope it gets backed so I can see a review, but I just don't see all the tiers getting unlocked.

I don’t think a lot of people will be displaying it “proper”. I think most will do it modular, especially since you have to get the deluxe to get the full building. That’s the true design of this, to be modular.

Thanks for the rundown and shoutout! This Q&A was done so strangely. I have no idea why they don't want to share the actual video themselves...not to mention sharing a video about a Black Series two-pack of repacks today instead. Seems like it would have cleared up some confusion and helped promote the project, and not put so much pressure on fan sites to attend and get everything totally right, or answer their own readers' confused questions.
It was a right mission for me to attend too. Pulling over at a motorway services on the way back from a conference. Not ideal! lol

I ordered the Transformers Deathasaurus. And I didn't pay for it for like 2 weeks after it ended. So I think if you get the please pay for it warning. I think you can get it if it takes a l little longer to pay. It worked fo me. The Millennium Falcon docking bay would be cool!

Given that it's such a high-end item, the Modular Parts/Alcove walls should be weathered/textured on both sides, (ie including the curved archway entrances on both sides of the bar). Front and Back, so outside/extended dioramas can be set-up and displayed. (ie. A Dewback standing outside weathered walls).
Would have been good if the last tier was the 6 figures loose in a box with BW artwork like the Trooper 4-packs they've done recently.

Of course they say that they wont do the three basic figures, because than they can sell more Cantinas. I would say the same if I were them.
However, I think it's very unfair to collectors on a budget not to release these figures.
To be honest, after a few conversations at Celebration last year, I'm very disillusioned with Hasbro's TVC representatives. I found them to be very arrogant and not very empathetic in personal conversations. Their answers to my questions were very monosyllabic and they also interrupted me. Well, it is what it is.
It really looks so much like a playmobil set which makes it seem even more overpriced in comparison. Hope it backs for those that want it.
I think Haslab needs to sweeten the pot, say, give us at least one more figure, like a blue snaggletooth, perhaps. And next time, they should just stick with larger vehicles, lord knows we still need a lot of them to go with our TVC figures. A U wing, bad batch Marauder, Ahsoka's T6, or Bo Kataan's Mandalorian starfighter for starters.
Super strange! What a waste of time for you buddy. Im sorry you had to deal with that. Have people get questions together and then exclude them to just have them watch. Weird and majorly frustrating. I'd like to know the real story behind the scenes.
Not a good reason for the shortened timeframe. The numbers have been fairly consistent from day to day during the so-called “doldrums” of the campaign - around 100ish per day. If you have a normal timeframe that is around 1,500 more backers. I know these numbers aren’t precise but it would or could be close to that. That could be the difference in reaching a tier or not.
Hope they make the bad batch the series has ended it would of been a good time to make them plus they made them in black series so they need to get on it in my opinion
I think they probably did it this way because of the last few times things may have accidentally been revealed. At least they could prep and have it ready in their minds on how to answer instead of sitting there thinking how not to give away what’s to come in the future.
I’m really hoping this reaches all 3 tiers but I’m fearful.

Pretty disgusting way of Hasbro to do things. Didn’t realise there were different tiers of collectors that get invited to things, whereas the rest of us paupers don’t… Hasbro are quite happy to receive my money though 🤬
I think it’s more about them trying to address the community through those that best interact with it. Channels like this are our representatives, and they’re the best ones to express all of our questions and concerns. We all turn to them for news and information, so it makes sense that they’re the ones invited to these events.
