    Rather late in replying but in October 2021 I bought a 2022 Gold Line Street Twin. Excellent bike. Very agile and responsive. As you say; "The Street Twin gives all the power you need." I added the mesh screen guard and a dark tinted fly screen. Found a leather quilted brown seat but gave it to my son who has a Bonneville T100. There is no way he could have afforded the seat but he wanted it to complement his T100. This is not an "entry level bike." It offers unique style with the Gold Edition, and the power is very respectable. Will easily keep up with traffic. When my son and I swap bikes on a ride he always has a smile on his face after "grunting" down the road on my Street Twin. I have owned several other bikes in my lifetime and this Triumph rates with the top of the line anything I have ridden. Grest job "MOTOUK from Southern California in the U.S.of A.

    Thanks Nick, great presentation. I got one back in August. At 5'10 and 68 kgs it's the ideal bike and makes me smile every time I take it out. My only very minor gripe is the position of the stand, it takes a little getting used to to find it first time. Have had to learn to use my toe rather than my heal to engage it. Otherwise it really is the best bike I've ever had, and over 30 years of riding I've had a few!

    Had my 16 street 3 years now and no intention of of ever selling it. I traded a tiger 800 for it and have no regrets. I commute on it, toured, just did 3 day trip to cotswolds. 600 miles 6 hrs in saddle no issue and got 70 mpg! While having fun. It always puts a smile on my face which is as it should be and is so nice to ride. I am constantly changing bits to make it my own which is part of owning something like this to me.
    Thank you for giving it a proper test rather than just dismissing it for a t120 like most seem to do. Oh and I love the look of the gold line but would not pay the extra over a standard model 👍

      Great comment I have a 2017 and feel the same way. Every time I enter the garage I smile. Work commute, trips, camping or just out to for that fix motorcyclists need. The StreetTwin does it all 👍

    I just think this bike is beautiful. I've been thinking for 3 years now which Bonnie I should get and, above all, with which engine. I think I'll be happy with the 900 and the five-speed gearbox. When the Chrome Edition was presented last year, my decision was made and it was now the Speed Twin 900 in beautiful red. For me, it's an everyday two-bike. I think with my 5'8 feet I have enough room for my legs, even if the distance gets longer. Great channel please keep it up. Many greetings from Germany.

    Great attention to detail, thats for sure. Absolutely love the Bonny range and I am torn between the T120 and the new Speed Twin. I would love to have both, but the wife reckons 3 bikes in the garage will suffice. For now! Great reviews as usual mate, appreciate it.

    I think the bike would be much prettier if it were a gloss paint, but that's just me. I would choose the Street Twin, now called the Speed Twin over the Bonneville T100 for several reasons. One, I'm short legged and the lower seat height would fit me better.
    Even Though I love the pea shooter exhaust on the Bonnevilles, they are in the way when you want to adjust the chain or change the rear tire. So I would prefer thet megaphones on the Speed twin. And the wheels, The Bonnevilles wouldn't look right without the spokes wheels, but that means tube tires and I prefer tubeless tires. Besides the Alloy wheels are easier to clean.
    I agree with you a lot of bikes these days have too many electronics and I like a basis motorcycle. That might be because I grew up in the 1960's.

    You need to re-gear (2 teeth up) the T120 for it to be useable around town. A de-cat doesn't hurt either.

    Love the Bonny range, that's for sure. Seriously torn between the T120 and the Speed Twin as my next and last bike. Like yourself, I'm somewhat tall and that certainly dictates the size of bike I ride. Really appreciate the reviews mate.

      I think it comes down to styling and gauges...the T100/T120 are just a little more of that classic Triumph detailing and dual indicators. And for a few more quid.

  • @ianhughesroyalenfield
    @ianhughesroyalenfield 3 роки тому +4

    Hi, although I appreciate that some people like matt paint finishes, it is not for me. I agree that it’s main competitor, is probably the RE Interceptor 650, but as you suggest, it is unfair to compare them, with the Triumph being a 900 vs the Interceptor’s 650. Although I am quite fond of the Bonny’s, I just don’t think that they are worth the extra £3000 price tag. They may be a bit more refined, but the proper back to basics rawness of the Interceptor, is the main appeal for me...... ! Nice review video, all the best.

    • @denisg4288
      @denisg4288 3 роки тому +2

      Think there is a 4cm difference in the seat height with the Street Twin being the lower which makes a major difference for many.

    • @ianhughesroyalenfield
      @ianhughesroyalenfield 3 роки тому +1

      @@denisg4288 seemingly so. For vertically challenged riders wishing to own an Interceptor, reduced height rear shocks are available from the likes of YSS and Hagon. 😉.

    • @denisg4288
      @denisg4288 3 роки тому +1

      @@ianhughesroyalenfield didn’t know that. Thanks. Issue is more weight than height for me. Awful drive, on a hill with an adverse camber so need low seat height to control it when putting away. Do like the Intercepter but also thinking MG V7 Stone.

    • @ianhughesroyalenfield
      @ianhughesroyalenfield 3 роки тому

      @@denisg4288 from some of the reviews I have seen about the Guzzi, it is a good bike, but ground clearance seems to be an issue. That said, I presume if you were to put lowered shocks on an Interceptor, ground clearance would be reduced. A friend (with a prosthetic leg) has a lowered Interceptor, and he hasn't mentioned ground clearance issues. You can probably guess that I am a mega Inty fan (I constantly rave about it on my vids lol), but best to get some test rides under your belt. Good luck in your quest.

    Hello from Spain, great video.
    What do you think betwin this engine and The Kawasaki z650rs. I know z engine IS not real retro motor engine, but The style os nice too.. I.m 6.2 so, i Will need T100 or z650rs. I.m thinking to the new Tiger 660sport.. muy favorite if had The money IS The new Speed twin or Z900Rs SE.
    ThankU.

      Hi Dani, ✋so i prefer either of the 2 triumph engines the Twin or the triple on the 660 tiger sport. I’m 6,2 also as you know by know. tbh i felt too big for the speed twin, and the T100 was more substantial. ive not ridden the 650RS yet but ridden the 900rs and still prefer the triumph. if you want a classic cant go wrong on the triumph’s - if you want adventure style then the new Tiger 660 is an awesome bike, i also think the Trident 660 is too, really was one of my favourites in 2021

    It's nice but I wouldn't pay the extra for the paint scheme. My 19 ST candy red just gives me a buzz every time I polish it. I also find it can be a bit snatchy in first when crawling in town or traffic. But, I love my Street Twin and I wouldn't trade it for anything. It does everything I want and it's fun.

    Lovely bike. Reasonably priced imo, but I have the same problem as yourself. I'm 6' 1", so that rules out a lot of bikes for me. I rode a Ducati 1299 Panigale (one of the nicest bikes in the world), but I ached after 10 minutes. It was like riding a pit bike or a mini moto. The only bikes that really fit me dimensionally are adventure bikes. Shame really.

      Hey Mark, 👋 yes I know I’m jealous of short riders sometimes 😂 the panigale I agree rose one a while back beautiful to look at but so uncomfy! My days of sport bikes and achy knees are long gone 😂 prefer naked upright now and my MT10 fits and awesome, do like the classics as you can tell! A bike has to look nice when I look at it really that’s part of biking for me. Love the look of the paint on this bike, the T100 & T120 is ok for our height, I have a plan in my mind for a Matt black custom Bonneville, need to put plan from paper to reality😉 cheers 🍻 Nick
