@@Bored-ov7jf The easiest way to put it is like this: A channel with a million subs, in theory, has videos that are up to the quality of what you'd expect from a 1 million sub channel. My older videos were not up to that quality. Having a lot of content is ok, having some high quality content is ok. My team and I want a lot of high quality content on our main channel :) This channel will always be around for unedited, more relaxed content. Variety's the spice, baby
I really miss when R&C OSTs had groovy beats and cool mixing. It's a shame that the newer R&C games have resorted to the typical kiddy "let's save the world" epic orchestral soundtracks that are forgettable AF

I feel like this is the fifth time I watched the same music tier list. And I still love it. btw, have you heard the remastered stereo soundtrack? it's pretty amazing
My ABSOLUTE fave pieces of music in this game HAVE to be Rilgar, Aridia's swingshot section and Drek's boss theme. Rilgar is so dramatic and intense plus with that opening shot of the level... ICONIC! The Aridia swingshot section is so fantastical and really "pretty" I don't know why I like it as much as I do but I always have. Drek's boss theme is THE jam though! It really does feel like a dramatic final boss theme and really emphasises the high stakes at play... also makes a great victory track during the credits too! Will give Kerwan its praises though... catchy af and super memorable.

I just finished yet another casual playthrough of RAC1 so this video appearing on my recommended is quite timely! I appreciate the little bits of music theory that you add in without it being too overwhelming! Agree that SS songs are ones you show to your mates, I just recommended gemlik, novalis, aridia and kerwan recently to a friend 😎 I’ve watched some of your other vids on your main channel and I just gotta say keep up the good work Xem, really enjoying your content!

58:15 I think Velding and Pokitaru push eachother up. The contrast between ratchets home planet and the planet he dreamed of is a really good point in the story. What he thought would be a paradise is actually just as bad as home with the invasion and dangerous creatures all over the planet.
aridia's outpost and the skidd theme are my favorites in the game by miles. i love those tracks so much, they can calm me down and put me in an upbeat mood
12:15 I think I'd go for Gemlik Base, if I had to pick only one. Kerwan is a solid second though, bc it's unquestionably the most iconic, recognizable, nostalgic, yadda yadda Also, Kerwan is kinda biased - as is Rilgar - bc of the PS2 demo that came out with those two levels tier 1: Gemlik, Kerwan tier 2 (not in particular order): Veldin, Gaspar, Rilgar, Novalis)

The incomprehensible vocal part on the Umbris soundtrack IS the Umbris soundtrack.
One of my top 3 favorite game soundtracks ever. It's ridiculous. So fun to see your head being blown by it! Especially the front half is loaded with great main themes. Novalis, Kerwan, Aridia, Eudora, Umbris. But i would say it's more 90s electronica influenced than hip hop. More so it pulls from rave, jungle and trip hop, but to be fair lot of those styles are essentially based on hip hop beats. It's just lot more complex and often faster.
You know it's an absolute unit when just hearing it can make you remember the first time you heard, Rachet doing that small little shuffle forward at the start of every single landing.. and you hear one of those bops as he does.
I actually put the (first 40~ seconds of) Aridia's Fortress music up there as one of the quintessential R&C1 tracks, just after the likes of Metropolis and Blackwater City. Possibly cause like you said it's the music that plays with the demo clip if you stay on the startup screen. That said it does really meander after the start.
16:03 "It insists upon itself" But seriously, this was a pleasure to watch, besides when Eudora was placed in S rather than SS and then moved down to A despite being the best song on the soundtrack

I think the Veldin (Drek) soundtrack is an SS tier IMO. What makes an SS tier is that it communicates the feeling of the level in the first few notes.
Rilgar does match the theme of the planet. Yes you start in the sewer, but in the distance there is an epic night city. it conveys the seriousness of the environment quite well IMO
It’s a tragedy that you skipped the B section of Veldin 2. That song is carried hard by that section, where it goes into a form of Dubstep before dubstep was ever a thing. Easy S to SS tier for me
The only criticism I could give the Qwark dogfight song is that it's a bit out of place with the rest of the game, and that you can't really hear it in game. But my god that song is amazing, shame you placed it so low.
F Tier tier list for: Gaspar and Blarg not being in S+, Kalebo not being in S, and Eudora not being in A+. Oh yeah, Gemlik and Rilgar are massively overrated too. Jk this is a solid tier list, I can’t hate your placements because they aren’t bad. Music is subjective at the end of the day
I will say. I disagree a lot with the Rilgar rising water track. I remember the horror and stress of the event. Literally no recognition for the music. That and it's just not that unique or particularly fitting. C tier

the aridia "traversing through the fortress" theme has a very whimsical and fairytale feel to it. I like it.

Your reenactment of a 10 year olds first experience with the warship self destruct sequence was spot on, that is definitely exactly how it was for me.

Just hearing this soundtrack, I can picture and hear EVERYTHING that is in the level. I played these games way too much as a child.

Outpost X11 in Aridia has the absolute BEST music in game, in line with Gemlik Base and Umbris
