As an owner of the Edifier ones since late 2019, I have to say that they the best for their price....
Clear neutral sound, almost flat, without colouring sound areas (bass-mid or high freqs)...
Of course, it depends of the style of music you hear and what kind of recordings you prefer...
I hear mainly classic, jazz and rock music...
So the main point is to achieve the better result, for hearing what the PRODUCER wants to be heard and NOT COLOURING the result.... At this point of view, the W830BTs are almost perfect (a small adjustment of +2 or 3 dbs in the mid area is just fine)...
I know that mainstream fashion is BASS-BASS-BASS , but for the reference Recording fans, the Edifier W830BT headphones is an excellent budget choice, without wondering when the battery will finish :) ... I haven't heard the SONY ones, but of some ones which I have heard, there were good, but boomy (bass area).... bass freqs almost fake... impressive but fake.
A humble opinion from a musical studio engineer.

I agree to every word being an owner since 2019 as well. My couple of complaints are the earpads' poor durability and the weak mic performance. Nevertheless, with just a little bit of gain in the mids and keeping spare earpads for replacement, these are certainly an easy-to-recommend pair of headphones and a very pleasant choice on the budget range.

Wow! Appreciate your review.😊 That was quite informative. According to your uses can tell me the mic quality of this headphone?
Does it have noisy mixtures of ambient sound?
And what about the latency while gaming and video watching?
    Does the connection dropout anytime?
It would be very kind if you provide me these information. As I'm planning to buy one. But can't decide because it's a model of 2018.

The main advantage of these headphones is long battery time, you will forget when was the last time you have charged... No problems with overall stability, however sound quality is just okay on BT mode. It's noticable better while on 3.5mm connection and with some 3rd part EQ apps.
No ambiet sound, will do job for watching movies, but for gaming - latency is too big.

Also, to be honest, if anyone is looking right now for headphones under 100$ - I would highly suggest looking at Anker Life Q30. They sound quality is really good, even better than Edifier, which are in similar price range. I have used them, but didn't make video review though.

With ANC activated, there is a loss of sound quality (and I think the reasons are obvious)... For a user, who his priority is the sound quality, go to the 830 ones.... 860's are 830 (plus ANC function) (minus battery life) .....

Edifier seems good for a budget option though. Sony being so expensive, you have to always take better care of them :)) Although the build quality is good and in the 1.5 year that I have them, I had 0 issues with it. I love edifier, I use them every day first of all because I have to charge them every 3 months ! I have them next to my bed, I always listen music every night to relax and is essential not to grab them empty of battery that exact moment 😄. Their sound, although does not have the clarity and soundstage of audiophile headphones, deep bass or crisp highs of other expensive headphones, is well balanced and worm, above average generally speaking and better than many 200€ headphones I have tested . Man windows craps all over those headphones with SBC-only support, I A/B tested the W830BT against a philips SHP9500, a Superlux 681b, Sennheiser HD 599 and a Galaxy Buds Pro (running on AAC). the Edifier sounds like a toy compared to those :/

received and returning the wh100xm3 today. Really disappointed in the bass on them. My old vietapro bt280 40 eur headphones have more bass than these sonys. Now looking into edifier because their bigger bookshelf speaker are just soo good!

More bass doesn't mean its better. For me the most natural reproduction of music is priority :))

"There are better options on the market but in higher price...". No way Sherlock. Almost everything that is more expensive is better. The point is to find headphones of similar prize(like 20 euros more expensive ) with the Edifier and better sound quality. There is no point on comparing headphones of 80 euros with headphones of 250 euros,at least not on sound quality. There is no way that edifier will be better than so expensive Sony headphones.

Of course not, comparison was just more for fun, to see the gap between. Also its very subjective to evaluate price/quality ratio so at the end people will choose based on their preference and budget.

i bought this headphone at the end of last year use 3 week then sold at 4th week. These are trash. i would suggest Bluedio Faith 2nd gen or T5s which is currently going on sale on ebay. W830BT have very low volume even at max and the drivers feel too far from your ear. bass is low as well. i would say Bluedio F2 does all these at lower cost as well.

I wasn't buying headphone for charge but that depends on other preference. If we talking about sound quality let me know in which part edifier 830bt beats f2. I used both and I know exactly what both delivered. Again I would say 830bt sound quality trash. Battery quality I would rather buy a powerbank. Also if you looking for good ANC headphone at cheap prices get Anker Soundcore life Q20. You won't be disappointed guaranteed.
