As an owner of the Edifier ones since late 2019, I have to say that they the best for their price....
Clear neutral sound, almost flat, without colouring sound areas (bass-mid or high freqs)...
Of course, it depends of the style of music you hear and what kind of recordings you prefer...
I hear mainly classic, jazz and rock music...
So the main point is to achieve the better result, for hearing what the PRODUCER wants to be heard and NOT COLOURING the result.... At this point of view, the W830BTs are almost perfect (a small adjustment of +2 or 3 dbs in the mid area is just fine)...
I know that mainstream fashion is BASS-BASS-BASS , but for the reference Recording fans, the Edifier W830BT headphones is an excellent budget choice, without wondering when the battery will finish :) ... I haven't heard the SONY ones, but of some ones which I have heard, there were good, but boomy (bass area).... bass freqs almost fake... impressive but fake.
A humble opinion from a musical studio engineer.
Thanks for your valuable comment! Would love to try W840BT as well :))
@@NiuxTech Hahaha.... I corrected the mistake.... W830BT.... :))
I agree to every word being an owner since 2019 as well. My couple of complaints are the earpads' poor durability and the weak mic performance. Nevertheless, with just a little bit of gain in the mids and keeping spare earpads for replacement, these are certainly an easy-to-recommend pair of headphones and a very pleasant choice on the budget range.
The Edifiers sounded better than the Sony to me in the sound test. Much more cleaner sound and still had enough bass
Well, it's really hard to transfer real audio quality, but by all means - Sony is just superior in sound department. They are just in another level and segment.
Well this is great considering that in my country, the Edifiers cost 130$, while the Sonys are 500$.
I am confused between this and
Audio Technica Sr30bt. Is this better than AT for videos /movies? Good to buy in 2020?
Hey i got the edifiers, i tried to use them via bluetooth 4.0 adapter in my pc and audio is stuttering. Will adapter with bt 5.0 fix the problem?
Great review! We're you able to use mic while connected to bluetooth on PC? I've heard some devices mic can't be detected on windows 10
Hi, thanks for watching. Actually I haven't tested mic on PC, so cannot confirm or reject this. However, if can remember correctly - when I have paired those with PC - it was showing up as "hands free device option".
Thanks for the comparison between the two headphones. Best Edifier er on Sony in terms of the battery, because Sony has a high price
Wow! Appreciate your review.😊 That was quite informative. According to your uses can tell me the mic quality of this headphone?
Does it have noisy mixtures of ambient sound?
And what about the latency while gaming and video watching?
Does the connection dropout anytime?
It would be very kind if you provide me these information. As I'm planning to buy one. But can't decide because it's a model of 2018.
The main advantage of these headphones is long battery time, you will forget when was the last time you have charged... No problems with overall stability, however sound quality is just okay on BT mode. It's noticable better while on 3.5mm connection and with some 3rd part EQ apps.
No ambiet sound, will do job for watching movies, but for gaming - latency is too big.
@@NiuxTech Thank you so much it means a lot.
@@NiuxTech Is there any issues of latency in gaming while using it by wired connection ?
Excellent review. How good is the microphone on these for calls ? I want to use it for office work related zoom, skype meetings. Any idea on how will be the voice clarity and level ?
Hi. Mic quality is on average, not the best option in the market to be honest.
I think gaming headphone is more suit you since gaming headphone come with a mic
It's not fair comparing those two. The sony's are top tier, whereas the edifier's are budget. That said, edifier's are great for the value, the sound is pretty balanced, they come with a pouch, and the battery is just insaneeee
I agree, they are different tier headphones, so my comparison came from pure curiousity to see and compare the difference of overall sound quality. Don't get me wrong - I really love Sony, they are my daily driver.
@@NiuxTech you do get it wrong with biased towards sony 😂
Thanks for the review :)
Sure! Thanks for watching :))
A comparison with Edifier's ANC models would be welcome.
Which song he played for comparison?
Good comparison. It's basically comparing a Mercedes and Toyota. With the base price of Mercedes, you could buy the highest spec Toyota while you only get base specs for the Mercs. Many people misunderstood this.
Thanks. I guess everyone has their own perspectives and needs, so it's totally fine with me. Also, this comparison was only to show how cheaper headphones can sound compared to 3x more expensive ones.
Also, to be honest, if anyone is looking right now for headphones under 100$ - I would highly suggest looking at Anker Life Q30. They sound quality is really good, even better than Edifier, which are in similar price range. I have used them, but didn't make video review though.
Here is the link, in case somebody would be interested: bit.ly/Anker-Q30
Which do you recommend? Edifier 830 or 860? The acn makes a big difference? When it's on, happen some lose of audio quality or volume?
Hi. Sorry for late reply. Overall I think Edifier 860 is better and higher class headphones. Yes, on BT you will get lower max volume and compressed sound quality compared to a wired mode by 3.5mm cable.
With ANC activated, there is a loss of sound quality (and I think the reasons are obvious)... For a user, who his priority is the sound quality, go to the 830 ones.... 860's are 830 (plus ANC function) (minus battery life) .....
My choice was 830 (for hearing music, and home use, not outdoors) . Hope I helped you :)
Edifier W820NB version released it would be interesting to compare! )))
Hi!
What do you think What do i have to chose:
Sennheiser hd 4.40 bt or Edifier W830BT?
I haven't tried Sennheiser hd 4.40 bt, so I can't compare them.
@@NiuxTech ouh, okay
Thank you
Same question!
What phone is that? Nice review btw!
Hi. The phone is OneOlus 8 Pro. Thanks!
This edifier headphone vs sony budget Bluetooth headphone , edifier win far ahead with all the feautres (anc, nfc, aptx, build, over ear, battery life, aux port ) that is missing on sony budget headphone that has similar price tag
Buying the Sony headphones was one of my best purchases!!!
Edifier seems good for a budget option though. Sony being so expensive, you have to always take better care of them :)) Although the build quality is good and in the 1.5 year that I have them, I had 0 issues with it. The only problem I have is that it can only connect to one device at a time. Hopefully Sony fixes this in the next version
Hey! Thanks for sharing! Sony headphones are really high quality product with great sound quality and lots of features. But for all that package - you have to pay quite a lot :)) Furthermore, there are rumors that MX4 new version is coming out soon!
Meanwhile, Edifier W830BT is a great option for those, who are looking for cheaper bluetooth headphones with amazing battery life and average sound quality. There are also some newer versions from Edifier with ACN and BT 5.0, might be worth considering as well.
NiuxTech yes. Totally agree with you. For that price, Edifier worth it
@@NiuxTech what r the newer versions? Edifier hasn't released a new headphone set in 2020
@@arangaran if you're after high end headphones I think Edifier's Stax Spirit S3 is a viable alternative to the Sony's XM4/XM5 and Bose's QC45. A bit more expensive I think but they also use planar magnetic drivers which purportedly sound better than the usual paper cones in the Sony and Bose.
Thanks. Could you please review w828nb and compare.
Hi. Thanks for watching. If I will get W828nb - I will do comparison :))
Hi. I just bought an Edifier W830BT but I'm curious how they stood up against time for you. Did they break after a few months or years or did you just give them away? Any comments regarding their longevity? Thank you.
Hi. I have used them for ~6 months, no problem at all.
@@NiuxTech oh ok. Did you give them away after 4-6 months?
PS - thank you for replying so quickly, BTW.
@@ronch550 for me SONY headphones felt more comfortable and I really like ANC. Thats why I switched to SONY as a daily headphones.
@@NiuxTech oh ok. Well, I guess at 3-5 times the price, the Sony should be better.
@@ronch550 yeah, true.
Well the medium you use to channel the sound from both headphones doesn't not justify the actual sound quality. Suggest u to use better balanced mic or environment setting that produces at least closest sound output
Thanks for your feedback. It's pretty hard to transmit the actual sound anyways, but the pro mics & record studio would be helpful.
Just on sound quality alone which is better guys SENNHEISER 4.40 BT vs Edifier 830 Bt.. I knw sennheiser has ANC and all that..
Haven't tried Sennheiser so I can't compare and tell you, which one sound is better. Sorry.
Hello!!! Which One is the Best between W830bt & W828nb, I Love Big Bass Head Sound for Kpop or EDM, according to Edifier Official Homepage, 830bt is Compatible for People who Love Bass, How about the New One (W828nb), because People Said the Sound is Different (ANC ON & ANC OFF) What Do You Think?? 😀😁😀
Hi :)) I haven't tested W828NB yet, but I guess they should sound pretty similar from what I got to read. Of course, ACN should give better overall experience, however you should not have high expectatios as they are still budget / mid-range headphones. I hope I can test and compare them in a future :))
@@NiuxTech Woaw I Read the Specifications that Battery Life is 80Hours ANC Off & Battery Life is 25Hours ANC On. Yes I Have Sony WH-XB900N (I'm Bass Lover), the Sound Quality Must be Different but Sometimes I wanna Buy the Budget Wireless Headphone like Edifier for BackUp!!! Buy Very Expensive Headphone is Dangerous, especially Wear it in Outdoor (LoL) Thank U for Your Answer, Have a Nice Day Mr.NiuxTech, Stay Awesome Yay 🙌🙌🙌
Should I go with the Mpow H21 or buy this Edifier W30BT?
To start with - I have not tested H21 model so it would be impossible to compare for me. However both headphones has many positive reviews, Edifier W830BT are the older headphones from 2018, while Mpow H21 were released not that long ago. Furthermore H21 has more up to date specs & features just like BT5.0 and ACN. If you have a chance - test them both and decide.
@@NiuxTech ok. thanks for the response. But since I am on a tight budget here. Which of the headphones would you think is value for money? Should I go for the latest headphone which is the Mpow H21 or Edifier? Do you think the outdated BT 4.1 should be a concern here?
@@amfiq92 From BT 4.0 and above there are no issues.
Now I agree with Crinalce (the audiophile UA-camr). Sony's WH1000XM3s and 4s are really muddy.
i got edifier W800BT for around 20 USD is Lazada 12.12 kinda nice
Good price!
You did not give a 2020 budget alternative.
how is the quality of edifier's microphone? does it work both in bluetooth and wired?
Mic does work in both wired and BT mode, but I haven't tested the quality, because I have mainly used them for music and video editing.
Im listen you via mis 1000X M3s

Edifier 830bt Dropt them once, the cups broke off, one week later one connection head cups to band broke off.. sound quality 100, build quality 0
iguess they have to cut cost somewhere
Pra games tem algum atraso de som?
English?
@@NiuxTech to play games have an audio delay?
@@NiuxTech I'm sorry for the confusion
Its okay for gaming. Very little lag if you play on Bluetooth. However - I would suggest using 3.5mm cable for better gaming experience.
@@NiuxTech ok my friend thanks a lot for the tip
93hr battery life.. 3 months? do y'all use headphones once every month or what?
1 hour per day (on average), lol. Do the math :))
@@NiuxTech dang, people actually use headphones that little
@@altaccount648 it depends i guess. If you use headphones for work purposes - then of course maybe more. But during the pandemic - if you stay more home, most probably the use of headphones / earphones decreased... But maybe its only my assumption.
Is this better than anker soundcore Q10?
I have only tested Q30 and Q30 are way better than Edifier
@@NiuxTech I got the edifiers a while ago without knowing the q30. They're the same price now. Did I make a bad choice ?
@@klodinkediloni762 I prefer Q30 over Edifier... Sound is noticably superior.
I’m watching this with the edifier’s right now 😂😂
Great! How do you like them? :)
Honestly their great the bass is strong but the vocals are quite balanced it’s pretty good for the price and the battery is crazy it’s may not be as good as the Sony’s but if you like bass that is noticeable but not over powering and good vocals the edifier’s are the ones
I have 6 pair of headphones, including audezee mobius, airpod max , high end gaming sets and edifier w830. I love edifier, I use them every day first of all because I have to charge them every 3 months ! I have them next to my bed, I always listen music every night to relax and is essential not to grab them empty of battery that exact moment 😄. Their sound, although does not have the clarity and soundstage of audiophile headphones, deep bass or crisp highs of other expensive headphones, is well balanced and worm, above average generally speaking and better than many 200€ headphones I have tested . So, they are best value for money headphones for my use and I am very satisfied of them . If you only have 80 dollars to spend grab them , you will not be disappointed .
Why display the prices as a highlight, when the main reason for the price difference between them is the fact that the Sony has (excellent) ANC?
Not sure if it is just me, but the thumbnail+title suggest that the Sony is supposed to sound much better than the Edifier because it costs lot more.
SONY has a better sound quality, no doubts. ANC is not the only reason for the price difference, there are more superior aspects on SONY side (better build quality, more comfortable, features within the APP, etc.).
@@NiuxTech Good to know, thank you!
Вот черт, на энглише 3,14здит... ну лан, картинкой полюбуюсь)

So I prefer the edifier
It does a decent job for its price, however it needs some EQ tweaks for better sound. Anyways, battery work time is incredible!
(Edifier) is this good for bass I'm a edm listener so i need a lot of bass
No, bass is not good. Better bass on Soundcore Q40.
@@NiuxTech theres no soundcore q40 yet
@@truthseeker6804 sorry, I meant Q30 :))
Man windows craps all over those headphones with SBC-only support, I A/B tested the W830BT against a philips SHP9500, a Superlux 681b, Sennheiser HD 599 and a Galaxy Buds Pro (running on AAC). the Edifier sounds like a toy compared to those :/
received and returning the wh100xm3 today. Really disappointed in the bass on them. My old vietapro bt280 40 eur headphones have more bass than these sonys. Now looking into edifier because their bigger bookshelf speaker are just soo good!
More bass doesn't mean its better. For me the most natural reproduction of music is priority :))
if u like bass so much just buy a skullcandy lol
Ни слова не понял, блин...
"There are better options on the market but in higher price...". No way Sherlock. Almost everything that is more expensive is better. The point is to find headphones of similar prize(like 20 euros more expensive ) with the Edifier and better sound quality. There is no point on comparing headphones of 80 euros with headphones of 250 euros,at least not on sound quality. There is no way that edifier will be better than so expensive Sony headphones.
Of course not, comparison was just more for fun, to see the gap between. Also its very subjective to evaluate price/quality ratio so at the end people will choose based on their preference and budget.
i bought this headphone at the end of last year use 3 week then sold at 4th week. These are trash. i would suggest Bluedio Faith 2nd gen or T5s which is currently going on sale on ebay. W830BT have very low volume even at max and the drivers feel too far from your ear. bass is low as well. i would say Bluedio F2 does all these at lower cost as well.
I wasn't buying headphone for charge but that depends on other preference. If we talking about sound quality let me know in which part edifier 830bt beats f2. I used both and I know exactly what both delivered. Again I would say 830bt sound quality trash. Battery quality I would rather buy a powerbank. Also if you looking for good ANC headphone at cheap prices get Anker Soundcore life Q20. You won't be disappointed guaranteed.
