I'm a plumber and 5 years ago you wouldn't have caught me dead with any other water pump plier than a Channelock brand. After my first set of Knipex my Channelocks came home and it's been all Knipex at work ever since.
They are impressive for sure. I loved Channellock too
Them knipex pliers wrench is awesome too. I keep a pair on me and if I have to capture a bolt I’ll use them. They have about replaced using a adjustable wrench all together for me.
I learned 20 years ago about knipex . My faith in snap on was changed forever on that day.
My snap on guy has me a brushless ratchet on reserve.. I'm stoked!!
Sweet !
@@KoonTrucking if those Snapon locking pliers aren’t junk and you end up keeping them you should weld a washer on the end, it will make them similar to the Milwaukee ones
Let me on clays next Snap On Friday video when you got yours. I just ordered mine.
I prefer with, so i can look good and work at the same time!
I own three different size knipex cobra and I love them. Worth every penny.
Definitely
Snap on comes on Thursday. He had the 3/8 brushless.... it’s a pretty badass ratchet I just would like to see it in action. The light on it is what made me fall in love it with and you’ll see it. Pay close attention to the light. I’m a big light person you can’t have enough light.
Same here lotta light required!
Here's another tip with the Milwaukee vice grips, you can put your snap on slide hammer hook in the tightening screw hole. Used the set the other day to pull a CV axle.
I have the new brushless to demo this week. It's close in power to the brute but turns slower than the brute. They say that will last a lot longer on a charge, I'll be finding out next week.
The snap on pliers look like a kids toy compared to the knipex. Complete difference in precision
Great video y'all have a great weekend and stay safe 👍
I just used a set of the Milwaukee C clamp style locking pliers to push the pistons back doing brakes on my truck. Cranking on the screw pushed em back way quicker than i expected.
Nice
I have both the new 10inch and 7inch snap on locking pliers. They are tough. Teeth are sharp. I also have the Milwaukee locking pliers too, but only one is original vise grip quality and thats the snap on.
Sweet! I got to get a pair
I was about to leave my snap on guys truck and I happened to glance over and he had a brushless ratchet sitting there, those new lights are awesome, and it stays on when you tap the trigger. Now all I need is the long neck version
Nice ! That’s got to help
my guy had the brushless 3/8 ratchet on the truck yesterday, pretty neat
Happy Friday guys! These past weeks at work have been flying by! I got some money burning a hole I need some Snappy tools!
Snap On can help you lighten your wallet for sure!
The nice thing about the snap on vice grips are Malco eagal grips my snap on dealer didn't have fanfare on back, order as well there a hot item no matter branded I was lucky to get some on Amazon before they sold out can't wait to get home to cheak them out
Hamilton trying to break that pocket pry bar is funny.
I used to work in a fishing department and when a guy would come in and want a good catfish rod, I would always go to the 5’6” ultralight rod and do the double over bend go show them how durable they were. One time I was making a sale on a couple rods and showed the guy the bend trick and the rod broke plumb in half right in front of the store manager. Whoops.
I don’t know how many times I bent that rod end to end, but nobody would put it through that much abuse. Needless to say, the guy bought the rods and a bunch more gear.
Haha
I did that with a brand new Shakespeare light rod for crappie. But i didn’t try it till I got home lol.
After that I paid up and got a St. Croix.
Smack that camera! Bang! Happy Friday Clay!
All the time !
Thanks fellas... for showing the difference Knipex/snap-on
If you don’t have the Knipex try them out you will be hooked
Snap-On is a tool company with the goal of selling every tool available. Knipex is a pliers company with the goal of making the best pliers for every pliers application. The only way to compete against Knipex is to be very inexpensive and Snap-On can't do that so they just sell Knipex pliers so their customers don't shop for them elsewhere. But I still have and sometimes use my vintage Snap-On 47 pliers instead of my Knipex counterpart. Mostly because it is a dirty situation.
yeah buddy,happy friday !
Hey clay, here’s a vice grip tip. Replace the standard bolt with an Eye bolt. It’s got a lot of uses. Here are some of mine.
- it can be used as a leverage point for tightening the bolt.
- it’s easier to operate with big gloves on
- you can hook a carabiner or rope through the eye. This is really nice if you need to hold tension on something that needs to be cut but you cant/don’t want to have your hands close to the work for safety reasons.
Good idea
Friday! Best movie ever! Lol
Finally Friday !!
Should every truck organized?
I've seen a kit that had a replacement bolt for a pair of Vise Grips with a loop on the end and a hook to put in a slide hammer for pulling out things that don't give you any other option.
I have a slide hammer vise grip made by Astro that’s awesome
Love those Mimi pry bars. A lot stronger than the pocket screwdriver for sure. They just don’t make them with a magnet yet. Why? Who designs these tools? Not a mechanic I’m sure
Today was Snap On Friday for me as well. Ordered a locking flex head 3/8 ratchet and standard fixed 3/8 ratchet today. Both in green to match my Kawasaki. #TeamGreen
I ended up ordering the brushless ratchet yesterday for 275 with battery. But it's on backorder gotta love that student discount tho
That’s a great price for sure !
no will power had me rolling
None. Not a single lick. Had to have ‘em
That 150 (6") is the length I carry everyday. I had the 5" bit they were just a little small for my liking. The 6" is just enough length to really grab ahold of stuff and still fits in my cargo pocket.
good video. Kinpex pliers are almost the same price at menards as from snap on, very close.
Snap-on waiting for SFC to release a bunch of stuff they held back last year with Covid-19 is what I was told. Get ready for the 100th anniversary promotion in celebration of the 101 year.
Yup, get the wanter going! Are you still working on the "Large Cars"?
Unfortunately
@@KoonTrucking uh-oh!
Im with ya on the head size. I prefer alligators over cobras, but i bought a slim head cobra and i cant put them down!
I just like the fact once you mash that button and set the opening the size you need them even if you drop they they are still right where you set em
The new snap on locking pliers are the best I've ever used they truly did a good job at redesigning them. This review is based on heavy shop use in the auto field .
Sweet !
Those are rebranded Malco eagle grips. The local Snap-on guy went around here telling people that snap-on had “bought the old vice grip plant”. That was a lie just like all the other lies he tells people about things he says they make that are just rebrand stuff at double or triple the price.
I paid off my snap-on bill today and then 10 minutes later I walk off the truck with a new bill does that happen to just me
Every single time. I’m the same way !
@@KoonTrucking I'm just getting started on being a mechanic for the city I'm in your videos help me with trying to figure out what I need to get
Nope it happens to most of us.
I'm a dealer and everyone that pays off gets a frowny face on their ticket. Then almost immediately gets a new ticket with a new balance. Warms my heart.
@@3Pugh I'm sure it does warm your heart I am probably going to start buying form SK after I pay off this account
Is there a part number on that pocket pry bar? Lol
I almost bought the new Snap-on locking pliers but I ended up buying the Malco locking pliers instead. 🤣
I am pretty sure Malco make the Snap On for them.
They do. 🤣
i want the Goofer1a coming back.
What’s the part # on the pocket pry bar?
3/8 brushless impact was released at the beginning of the year I thought ?
Nope
Clay, please pass along my heartfelt gratitude to Hamilton for finally getting his American Flag properly displayed in the back of the truck. It means more than words can convey. BTW, did you get you unopened 100 Anniversary ratchet set yet?
Not yet
What’s the part number on the pocket pry bar
Do you know if the brushless ratchet is brute only ?
No clue it’s supposed to be stronger from what I read. I’ve also heard it was slower which is going to suck too. That’s why I hardly ever use the brute, it’s painfully slow
@@KoonTrucking Finally Friday ! Thanks Clay!
Remember Stanley black and decker owns Irwin the maker of the origin vise grips
Thanks for reminding me. I will avoid the Irwins.
I actually like them I don’t thing they screwed them up yet
@@peteh4312 Give it time!!
@@peteh4312 well let me tell you about my experience with Irwin vise grips, I have a pair of overseas ones and USA Peterson vise grips. The overseas ones the teeth became flat on the first time I used them and have gotten progressively worse in the year and a half I’ve had them. The old Peterson vise grips from the 70s they have yet to get even close to the same amount of flatness as my new ones. That is my experience with new vise grips, I thought maybe they kept the same quality when they moved, but in my case that hasn’t occurred
Was that a Mac pocket pry bar? Or snap on?
Off brand but same as Mac
Been asking my snap on rep for two years to tell snap on to make a hard handle pocket pry bar... macs are made In Taiwan and look identical to this one
87F LOL come to Texas
Lol 87. Cali is expected to hit 117 next week.
They ain’t got 90% + humidity though. Much different kinda hot
@@KoonTrucking no doubt.
Most tools Hamilton has shown in a while.
Yep
Ha Ha I prefer the Irwin push button pliers over these
Cut a flat top and install slides theirs your slide top
Snap on should be paying you
I agree !
If you know how to use your channel locks/knipex right then you don’t need no spring
Exactly I working like that spring
Yeeehaaaa
What happened to bill?
Nipex is the best hands down, if they start making vice grips everybody else Better just go home!
They got em from what I heard ? Haven’t seen them yet
They do have Knipex ones but I believe another German manufacturer makes them for Knipex
𝐒𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐈 𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐝, 𝒖𝒉 𝒐𝒉, 𝑰 𝒅𝒐𝒏'𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌 𝑰'𝒎 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒕𝒐𝒅𝒂𝒚.....
Rare but you were slow on the draw today. Must have been out sunbathing !
@@KoonTrucking LOL The last time I tried sunbathing, I was at the beach. The authorities ordered the beach closed because they thought I was a beached whale.
Why Hamilton truck dirty and messed?
Anyone have the part # on the mini prybars?
They are not snap on brand.
Thanks yeah my snap on dealer said they are a staples promotion deal thing. Gonna try to get me one though. Thanks for the help love the channel. Your snap on dealer is way cooler though lol
Them brushless tools are made in jamaica
Really ?
@@KoonTrucking hahaa 🤣 bad joke
I was like wtf Jamaica ? Those bitches will just lay around and smoke then!
@@KoonTrucking lol they dont use hair brushes in jamaicas what i was gettin at. Dreads lol
@@KoonTrucking but yeah that too lol

Knipex cobras and new pipe wrench are bad to the bone
You know it !
Snap on chrome vice grips are made by Malco.
This isn't true. Snap-On acquired the old Irwin US factory and started producing them again. When Snap-On bought the factory it was empty. All of Irwins vice grips are now made in China.
@@mmholling87 sir I have to disagree, Malco Products SBC out of Annandale, Minnesota bought the Old Irwin Vise Grip Plant in Dewitt, Nebraska in 2017 over the next few years they brought in new machines, fixed the plant and began to hire both Old Vise Grip employees and new ones to work at the plant, they began production in 2018 but due to setbacks, and their strict standards they didn’t begin to sell Eagle Grips till 2021. Eagle grips are also made FOR Snap On and are branded as such. Snap on did not buy the plant and was not involved in it besides having Malco Eagle Grip pliers make Snap On branded versions
@@jonathanhill7295 very interesting. I work for a large aerospace company and we are one of the largest purchasers of Snap-On tools in the world. We buy directly from Snap-On and Just recently a pretty high person within Snap-On shared with me the story about acquiring the old Irwin factory. It sounds like Snap-On bought Malco or he was misinformed like myself. Do you work for Malco?
No bed liner. No no no
I love the Bedliner top. Why you not like it
What’s the part number for the pocket pry bar?
