I stopped being a mechanic in the early 90's. Started driving trucks in 97. Then in 2004 I started delivering new big trucks. In about 05 or 06 I was delivering a truck dropped a set of snap-on wire strippers and drove over them. Bent them all up so I flipped them over and drove over them again. They worked fine for quite a while. Then one day I was driving up US 287 and I saw a Snap-on truck at a gas station, so I pulled in to the dirt lot next door and ran over to the truck with the tool in hand. The dealer asked what had happened to them. So I told him and he traded them out for me. Never seen him before, never seen him again. That was the first time I ever had to get a Snap-on tool replaced. That guy was awesome. I'll never forget that story.
I blew up my set working on a live 480 Vac circuit (not known to be live at the time) my dealer replaced them and said “well now I can comfortably tell guys on the truck they’ve been electrician approved and tested
Me and my buddy whenever the snap on truck comes by the shop we get so excited it's like getting ice cream as a kid. We just really enjoy Snap-On tools. Plus we like to support Trevor our friend and dealer.
I have been blessed with having excellent tool dealers. I left a comment a couple weeks ago about Matco ratchets about them braking but have been extremely happy with my Matco dealer. I have a Snap-on and Mac guy to. I’ve bought tools from all three tool guys and there all very faithful and always been there for me. Been like that for nine years.
I have a great Snappy guy. When I closed up shop he hauled my box to my house for me. I still buy Snappy stuff when I need it. I just text him when he's in town, and I meet him at one of his stops. Great service.
Hamilton really is one of the best Snap On dealers in the USA. Such a cool guy! Wish I could join you and him for a cold beer one day on a Friday after work. 👍
I had found a long thin blade flat head screwdriver that is awesome for adjusting carbs. I dropped it one day and broke the handle my snap-on dealer not only replaced the handle he replaced the whole screwdriver.

I would think a couple negative calls to Snap-On about a dealer that didn’t want to sell or warranty tools and his franchise agreement would get a black mark and possibly not renewed because that dealer is having a negative impact on the brand. A new franchise agreement also means Snap-On gets to sell a new truck, tools, training, computer, etc.
I wish that were the case. The snap on dealer at my work is pretty terrible. He didn’t show up for the first 3+ months I worked there, even after a corporate guy came out and talked to us about him because we had so many complaints. Guys had stuff to warranty but he didn’t stop by because people didn’t buy stuff, just warranties. It took multiple calls to the corporate office and going through them to warranty tools. I love my snap-on guy I refuse to get on any other truck because of how well he's taken care of me. And that's not even everything he's done for me
I bought the new straight and angle brushless die grinders, brushless 3/8 ratchet, and a 1/4 ratchet and the 3/8 impact. All 14.4 volt. Replaced my m12 stuff. Buy bulk, got 300 bucks off. Was good enough for me. A good dealer is invaluable. Still using the m18 line though.

And when it come time to trade in my old tool box. He had the one I wanted the next week for 20% off brand new....And gave me what I paid for my old one. That is customer service!

I will happily pay more to a tool truck guy if the service is worth it and a lot of tool truck guys are slowly learning this.
I had a bad run in with a Snap-On dealer 28 years ago. Took the guy 2 weeks to swap out the guts on a ratchet because he was lazy and I had never purchased anything from him before as I was new to the area. Had to call a area manager to track my ratchet down. After that I never purchased another Snap-on tool again. Not going to pay a premium price for bad service. At the time I decided to just get craftsman hand tools because it was easier to swap out. I quickly realized I could purchase multiple backup tools and still cost less with better service.
My snap on guy stops at our tire shop faithfully and there is only 3 of us there. He comes every Thursday like clock work. But we have been there since 1991 still going strong
Sorry to say but today I’m out from buying snapon😔. I fully paid a 3/8 electric ratchet , months later send it back for warranty and my dealer charged me $150 to replace my ratchet with a used one because mine was waiting for parts. If i add up what i paid and this extra cost it adds up to $750 for a ratchet. Warranty was just a simple trick👎.
All three of my dealers have different dynamics of how they interact with me. We got the Snake Oil salesman (Snap-On). The former mechanic (Mac). And Mom and Pop store (Independent, an actual store, not a truck). They all have great service, so I still prefer spending money with them instead of big box stores.
Been a week off so far,dad had gall bladder surgery last week Thursday.Found it inflamed.Recovering very well now from it.A neighbor of mine dealt with a Snap On dealer that was an asshole.I had him take a broke screwdriver to this dealer and would not warranty it.Broke the tip off of it,I used it to wedge between the bellhousing of the transmission and engine breaking the tip.He got this dealer to warranty it.Did not want to warranty due to using it as a pry bar
My Snap-on dealer helped me out in a jam i needed a 33 mm wrench on a Sunday at 4 o'clock and he was out Xmas shopping and buy 5 o'clock he showed up it was expensive but when 30 people are depending on you to have the plant operational on Monday morning can you really put a price on it and is sears harbor freight or home depot going to have a 33 mm wrench and if they do what are the odds they will bring it to you
I’ve just noticed, Hamilton and micheal are the best dealers because they try to talk to you and make conversation, joe doesn’t really talk and only shows off his product. I’m not saying joe is a bad dealer but you can make a connection with Hamilton and Michael but not joe. Or maybe I’m just wrong
Man i want those screwdrivers, i dont know whats going on with the snap on guys here in CA, told me it will be 5 weeks to get the plier set and screwdriver set in blue that i ordered.
I agree you have good reps we have a great cornwell dealer. The snap on rep is not reliable matco rep ever 3 monthif that. I'm wanting to trade in my snap-on because of my rep.
I've bought tools from all three trucks, overall, I've spent more with Mac, mostly because of their bundle deals-I don't make alot so I need to be careful. Our Snap-On man takes care of things, still stops by to see us, good guy. The Matco guy is kind of a dick. He just quit coming around all together. He'll drive right past our shop and not stop. I see alot of traded-in Matco tools on the Mac truck and it makes me smile. I'll trade mine in once they're worn. I won't bother calling him, the other two guys take care of things.
When the Cornwell guy come to my area and wanted my business, I told him straight up you treat me well and I'll treat you well. But my first question was, will you warranty previous Cornwell buys. He said absolutely as long as that's not all he's going to be to me. And I have to say he was a fantastic guy to deal will.

I've been replacing all my broke Cornwell stuff with Snapon, the cornwell stuff can't outlast my USA Craftsman!!!
The last Cornwell rep we had was horrible person to do business with. Thankfully upgrading to higher quality snap on and match stuff.
I don’t blame you. No matter how “good” a tool is they are only as good as the man that sold them to you
My Cornwell guy is cool as hell and his truck is always stocked he is a professional but he used to be a tech so that makes a difference
I love my brushless rachet I keep asking my snap-on guy when are they going to get a long neck version
I just got my brushless ⅜ ratchet today for $360 lol
My snap on guy stops at our tire shop faithfully and there is only 3 of us there. He comes every Thursday like clock work. But we have been there since 1991 still going strong
I need that blue torque wrench 🔧
That blue ratchet is rare here in the Cali area lol
Our snap on dealer match dealer and gear wrench dealer are great we are supposed to be getting a Mac dealer next week 😄
That's sucks his ac went out at the end of the season tell you 25 dollars a week we always had fun with a tool truck guy when he needed service
Should be under warranty for a year. Your dealer just screwed you on that
This guy is addictive... I'm a handyman in Ontario and I want to buy from him.
Wish we had your guy
Buy all the tools u dream of and get billed by jovin. Then next fox the ac. The bill will miraculously be the same.
We sure need this snap on guy in Smithville tn !
Clay you need a blue tool box for your blue tools. lol
Had one
Been a week off so far,dad had gall bladder surgery last week Thursday.Found it inflamed.Recovering very well now from it.A neighbor of mine dealt with a Snap On dealer that was an asshole.I had him take a broke screwdriver to this dealer and would not warranty it.Broke the tip off of it,I used it to wedge between the bellhousing of the transmission and engine breaking the tip.He got this dealer to warranty it.Did not want to warranty due to using it as a pry bar
Man glad you are doing ok !
@@KoonTrucking I am and dad is listening to the doctor
My Snap-on dealer helped me out in a jam i needed a 33 mm wrench on a Sunday at 4 o'clock and he was out Xmas shopping and buy 5 o'clock he showed up it was expensive but when 30 people are depending on you to have the plant operational on Monday morning can you really put a price on it and is sears harbor freight or home depot going to have a 33 mm wrench and if they do what are the odds they will bring it to you
Yeah my old dealer was like that. He said if you need anything on a weekend or holiday let me know and I will bring it to you.
I'm sorry but 400 for a snap on ratchet with a battery when you can go get the Milwaukee on sale for 199 with a battery.
I met Joe at the meet up, talked his ear off for an hour or so. I bought some stuff from him. He gave my daughter a hat, he’s a super nice guy.
Man i want those screwdrivers, i dont know whats going on with the snap on guys here in CA, told me it will be 5 weeks to get the plier set and screwdriver set in blue that i ordered.
My snap on guy is awesome warrnety on everything
I bought a brand new snap-on 1/4” ratchet with two batteries and a charger NeW in box (with the box) for $150. I win.
They expecive right and it also comes with heaters in the shop. But them people don't understand.
I would negotiate with Walmart if I could find a sales person lol.
Haha
I like Hamilton's T shirt lol
I agree you have good reps we have a great cornwell dealer. The snap on rep is not reliable matco rep ever 3 monthif that. I'm wanting to trade in my snap-on because of my rep.
60 and Moist up here in Minnesota!
Never realized Hamilton's first name is Jovin 🤣 We should just call him Ham
That's how you take advantage of the situation lol
When the Cornwell guy come to my area and wanted my business, I told him straight up you treat me well and I'll treat you well. But my first question was, will you warranty previous Cornwell buys. He said absolutely as long as that's not all he's going to be to me. And I have to say he was a fantastic guy to deal will.
When they come back out with the pearl blue screwdrivers like that I hesitated on buying some but now I really want some and can't find them....
From the uk my dealer comes clutch gives me good offers looks after me for example them flank drive plus spanner’s usually snap on would want £560 he knock off £360 bought the snap on for £200
Lol yes my dealer doesn’t go down for shit but then again I don’t buy as much as clay does
I WANT that vise!
I have that exact same one and love it
I wish there were more guys like this. Where is he based out of anywhere in Florida?
It doesn’t cost a dealer anything to warranty. Snap on replaces it for free
They’re repeatedly missing out on the opportunity to acquire more customers.
Man I’ve been waiting for the new brushless 3/8 for about 2 months here in south Texas
