Thank you for telling us you had plastic surgery. I’m 43 and knowing this makes me feel so much better about my own eyelids. You are so beautiful and inspiring.
I’m really happy I did it but eventually I will have to accept the laws of gravity 😂 it takes away the extra skin showing more lid but doesn’t technically lift the eye. Maybe only a facelift would do that I’m not sure
@@erinparsonsmakeup I'm really happy you brought it up too! I have a lot of skin on my eyelids (genetic) even when I was a kid, but I want to wear a lot of makeup! I will be getting surgery on my eyelids soon
This was hands down the best winged eyeliner tutorial ever! Seriously, thank you from someone with saggy lids. It’s usually some crazy shape to draw and drawing specific “shapes” which for me is like writing in ink on wet soggy paper
Writing on soggy paper is so hilarious but you nailed it 😅 that’s why I like a pencil that doesn’t tug and then the pointed qTip to clean up because the eye wont be moving around, like soggy paper 😂
The problem about plastic surgery is not the fact that someone decided to have it done, but when they lie about it and make others feel bad about themselves that they can not keep up with the competition. Honesty is the way. and you genuinely showed us how to do it. Thank you very much for that! You are a real icon! your example everyone should follow.
I believe they should be honest, but how you feel about yourself is nobody else’s responsibility. There’s people who’ll look good naturally regardless, are they supposed to just turn ugly for the rest of us?
@@chickenisindeedmystyle7316problem occurs when someone try to convince others about that their "beauty" or youngness comes from natural source when it is due to plastic surgery. because this is called lying and LYING is a problem in all cases. no one was talking about looks, this was about honesty and transparency especially when someone is with a great influence about such things.
A person choosing to have surgery is noone else's business. All aren't comfy sharing. Their lying about it has nothing to do with you. If it makes you feel bad that they lie...it's reality, hun, people lie. And they have the right to lie. It's their bodies. I don't want to sound like I'm being mean. I understand what you're saying. Of course it's irritating hearing Kylie say she never had her lips done. We all knew she did even as she continued to lie. The beauty standards of today are so insanely unattainable that we should all know it's ALL a lie. Instagram, Tik Tok, music vids, magazine covers...filters, makeup, AI...we need to learn to be satisfied with what we got.
I love how honest she was about her plastic surgery. I'm 37 and starting to notice some less than firm areas we will say haha...it makes me feel better that a woman as beautiful as she is admits even she needs a little help sometimes, and is totally honest about it...thanks for that😊
Oh, how I wish I could have that done. I need the money for other things like rent & bills. All of my life I was complimented about my eyes. I'm in my 60s now. Everything has sagged. And I mean everything. When they say, "do these exercises for this or that" Do them!!! lol
As a freelance artist, I LOVE how transparent you are about using "hacks" like starting with non-waterproof pencil. I use medical tape on my clients for sharp wings. We all have our strengths and have to find what works!
@@alexandrasaadi7149 Nope. Just regular skin prep. I've used scotch tape in the past, but I know some people have sensitivities to adhesives, so I switched to med tape. It can be extra sticky but I got good results recently with just making sure there's plenty of moisture on the skin.
I feel so respected by you using the right term “sagging eye” and not “hooded eyes” like what a lot of Eyeliner Tutorials use today . That’s why i love watching your videos you are very knowledgeable about make up and teach me so much . 😊
For real, that term is way too saturated at this point people will argue what is, and, what isn't a "hooded eye" but like sagging skin makes much more sense and less confusion
But I have both and am wondering what the difference is or if it matters for this technique. I’ve always had hooded eyes but now that I’m older they’re more pronounced (ig skin is sagging). But she was talking about people who had a lot of makeup space when they were younger then the skin tends to sag? A lot of makeup space has never been me.
It's not weird 🙄 it just show's you think you know it all. And what you know is common knowledge to everyone else. Well, I hate to break it to you. But a-lot of make up influence wanna be don't know the differences and say they have hooded eye when they really don't have it at all. So yes I respect her that she is knowledgeable about what she is talking about. Because people who don't know the difference can think that this is what they have and don't understand why it doesn't look the same on there eyes. And most of all if you don't have anything good to say then you don't have to say anything In my country we have a saying that say some time being silent makes you look much smarter than saying something like you did. You could just have just said the first sentence you really didn't need to add the second one to try to put me down. You really got the wrong person for that.
I am in the same boat! I’m 54 and pretty good skin still. And I love makeup but I need to know how to keep looking good and not older because of my poor technique
'The beauty is there'. My goodness, yes PLEASE to this vibe. I'm 45 and my eyes are virtually collapsing, and alas, surgery and injections aren't an option in my quest to normalise being middle aged, hehe, so this is perfection. I wish there were more artists like you on youtube with a passion for the academia of make up
THIS IS THE SINGLE BEST EYELINER TUTORIAL I HAVE EVER SEEN EVER IN MY ENTIRE LIFE OH MY GOD. As someone with hooded and starting to sag lids… THANK YOU FOR SAVING MY LIFEEEEEE! 😭❤️
Love Erin! I am 73 and now I am interested in make-up again. Not all my efforts are successful but still lots of fun to try these techniques. More please
I'm now considering to start every conversation with " Hi, I have saggy eyes." I loved it soo much.😁😎Thank you for your very clear, articulate, straightforward and straight to the point, honest video with no bs.🖤I'm absolutely ready for this kind of tips/hacks sort of videos, you're such a professional in this area and I'm very glad you're getting subscribers and recognition you ABSOLUTELY DESERVE!❤ I watch you along with Lisa Eldrigde, Wayne Goss, Robert Welsh, Alexandra Anele, John McClaine and many more! Thank you for your talent and skill!💜
1. Preach!!! 2. You named exactly THE ONES😍 I' d just add Rose Makeup World. 3. I think you need Maria Catala in your life (a spanish MUA) because she' s back on YT. 4. 🧛🏻♀️🖤
Actually when I watched it back I laughed so hard at that intro - gone are the days of welcome to my channel, we gotta get to the point 😅 which inspired my thumbnail! Will def be bringing more quick tip videos. This was really fun for me!
omg setting the shape and then going over it with liquid liner later after everything else is applied ... 🤯It's so simple yet so brilliant, I can't wait to try it!
I love watching you do your makeup. My eyes have been severely dry for 30 years, and we aren't supposed to wear anything. I miss it, so I'm living through you and others. So thank you.
@@janesmith1398 can you still use eyelash glue to adhere those decorative rhinestones or "pearls" or beads to below or above your eyes? They're a fun way to add a little accent and sometimes even color near the eyes without using makeup.
I love, that you are teaching this technique. My issue isn't sagging per day, but more that my actual eye shape makes a dramatic wing hard for me. Also, I love the transparency. From just accepting gravity, to saying "I didn't like how this made me feel, so I had surgery and changed it." It's extremely refreshing in the beauty community. I so enjoy your content, and think you are a breath of fresh air. Beautiful!
Thank you for being so refreshingly honest and down to earth! I had a lot of eyelid to play with when I was young. Now at 62, I’m having to re-learn makeup and new techniques to accommodate the changes.
Isn't it weird that our face can change so much as we age that we have to approach makeup totally differently then. My whole jawline is changed, the shape of my eyes have changed. Lots of recalculating and learning new techniques
This is absolutely what I needed to hear. I have super hooded/saggy lids and have been considering blepharoplasty. I've tried MANY techniques from UA-cam and every "hooded eye" tutorial is like 10% of the amount of hood/sag that I have. Thank you thank you thank you for your honesty, for your amazing techniques, and for SUCH an entertaining channel. You're beautiful and I really appreciate everything that you do! ❤
@@AllysonRhiley no what I meant by my comment was if that is you in your profile picture then you have absolutely no sag whatsoever! The complete opposite!
@@Sssssssslf Yeah I really have to make an effort to hold my brows up in photos so that the sag doesn't show. Otherwise my wing ends up chopped in half and pointing towards the floor. Lol.
Even though I’m only 26, my eyelids have decided to sag and be droopy, so this helps so much! I love how you said it doesn’t have to be perfect it makes me feel so much better
@@tnt01 even if it's genetic? Some of us just have hooded lids even at a young age. Some of us lose it to some degree as we age and lose some baby fat. Mine improved with regular directional massage with one of those silicone bristled face cleaning massagers (I have the medium sized Foreo) over several years of diligent use, but mostly I've gotten the outer corners observably higher than where they started off (my eyes were technically perfectly horizontal but seemed droopy because of excess skin)
You might simply have hooded eyes, which isn't age related, it just how genetics decided your eyelids should be, kinda like how some folks have a monolid
Thank you for being honest about the surgery. You’re gorgeous and so talented and it helps us regular ladies have realistic standards on ourselves and if we want a little tune up it takes the shame out of it to be HONEST. So refreshing!
I think we would love to see how you do your makeup around your eyeliner!! See you go in with eyeliner first and show us how you do your makeup around that to look as seamless as it does!
This is a crossover between drawing and sculpture!😍 Once the black pencil is placed it becomes a marble piece and you become an sculptor who chisels it with a cotton bud and remover until the desired eyeliner shape emerges. 🧛🏻♀️🖤
I love how this tutorial is helpful with creating the standard and iconic winged liner look. I feel like there are a lot of tutorials that are designed to work around hooded eyes, but this tutorial shows how you can create that classic winged look without having to do a totally unique and uncommon eyeliner shape. A slay in my opinion.
I love your honesty, and I love that even an artist of your calibre is willing to say they can't immediately go in with liquid liner. For a lot of clients, I can, but I'm so grateful to know this trick now and have it in my repertoire for clients with hooded lids who request wings. Most of my clients don't want winged liner, but it's great to know! Thank you so much for helping me continue my education!
Me too! I used to do a lot of winged liner and shadow and it just doesn’t look good anymore :( it’s very sad! My eyes are also getting more and more uneven so it’s even harder
@@gabriellaberglund3651 I know, it’s really sad… I was thinking today.. if its like his now, hooded and crepey, what will it be like in 5 years!! I did the ‘bat wing’ and that works pretty good, makes the illusion of an even wing, even on hooded but that takes time, each morning, when I am rushing for work, now I use a pure white and it helps!
I have found some techniques for wearing shadow but I certainly could not do the way the old beauty gurus do. Less is more but I mean we can wear punches of color but not super thick layers of products. I’ll def do some eyeshadow tutorials soon 😊
I started using pencil before liquid a couple of years ago, and omg what a difference it makes. At 54 my eyes are texured and my lids are drooping at the corners so the liquid liner tends to break apart now. Using the pencil underneath really holds it in place all day, and i literally mean all day. I work 10 hour days in customer service, and my liner looks just applied when i get home. Ive been doing winged liner since i was 16 on and off. But for about 20 years it's been my go to with every eye look. Thank you for this tip, I can totally confirm that it absolutely works. You are so beautiful and amazing. Thank you for sharing your knowledge beyond just the finished makeup looks. ❤
Thank you, Erin. I love this technique. Can't wait to try it on my eyes! I'll let you know how it turns out. I'm 57 & have the saggy eyelid issue & I was only using liquid liner. The skin would sag over the line & try as I might, I had no idea how to fix it. You're my hero! 💋
This is SO incredibly helpful! I had reconstructive surgery on my face a few years back after a car accident and I have really STRUGGLED with doing my eyeliner properly on the eye the surgery was done on because it has a lot more saggy skin. This, BY FAR, has helped me create the look I was really going for and I am so grateful! Thank you so much! ❤❤❤
i'm livinggggg cos this is exactly how i've always done my liner!! 😂 good to know i'm golden on my techinque for decades to come, thanks so much for sharing! 💖
I’m fifty nine and my eyes are extremely hooded. I haven’t worn a wing in, well, I don’t even know when bc my eyes have always been very hooded. But, I’m going to give this a try. Hopefully I’ll have success. Thanks Erin. ❤️💜💚
Lol the intro got me. I appreciate your openness with surgery, I wish more people would talk about it. If you love makeup the eyes are kinda important 😂. And even if you weren’t into makeup it’s your face you want to feel comfy.

My friends and I, as I'm sure many other mere mortals out there, would love to see a hooded eye tutorial. Any product in your hands works like magic, honestly. Thanks again. The vibe is gorgeous!
Pleeeease more tips and tricks. This helps me a ton. I used to wear winged liner on the daily in my 20s could slap it on in a minute or 2 and it Look great. As soon as I hit 30 I noticed the sagging and my eyeliner started looking wonky. SO TYSM! I cannot wait to try this tommorrow.
Thank you so much for this tutorial.💗 I used to have gorgeous big open top lids. I could do all sorts of make up techniques, and was often complemented on my eyes. Even by age 45 I had very minimal sag, and still pretty nice lids. So I began thinking to myself, “Wow, maybe saggy lids won’t be as much of a problem for me as I thought they’d be…. Oh, how blissfully ignorant I was. I am now 51 and in the past six years, my saggy eyelids have gone from “minimal” to MAXIMAL, in a major way! And it felt like it happened overnight! It’s like I woke up one morning to my lids screaming, “I can’t take it anymore!” and then watched them lay down on my face and die of exhaustion!🤦🏼♀️ The worst part is, I can’t figure out how to do my eye make up in a flattering way anymore. I used to think I did my make up pretty well, now I’m thinking it was only because my face was a younger better canvas, making it easier to do.🤷🏼♀️☹️ I love your content, all the history, stories, everything. After seeing this tutorial, I love you even more! Keep up your beautiful work!💗😁 P.S. My profile picture was taken about six years ago. It was soon after that, my saggy-eyelid-armageddon started. And yes, I know it’s an old profile picture, I like the way I looked, and no, I don’t ever intend to change it!😜👍
I'm so happy you're making UA-cam- Videos. There is so much we can learn from you. I have saggy eyelids too. And this is so helpful. Can't wait to learn more from you and about Make Up history.
Great to focus on mature skin from this perspective, a lot of "mature makeup tips" is about using less and less makeup, im all in for the vintagelook and as im getting older the skin is not as it used to be...saggy lids, wrinkles and all that, but i dont feel like stepping away from my style, so I do my waterproof liquid liner just as you, but with myself i dont need to do the guideline at first... sometimes i feel that tape is also a great help to those straight lines acros the saggy skin 😊
Ohhh you are very clever, this was so helpful to me with my aging eyelids. I adore yr work so much. Very feminine and retro.🌹I've always loved makeup, but now at 59, I'm having to reduce and change my look. This works brilliantly 👏 👌
Why has this never occurred to me?! This is like, life changing for someone with a tremor disorder. I had almost given up on applying a wing. You rule.
To me this makeup look is both iconic and classic. I didn't think of tight lining so I'm so glad that you mentioned it. You are an incredibly talented artist. Btw, I hadn't noticed the scar.
Oh Erin I just loved this. I am a woman who struggles with "the wing". I have tried several different techniques and liners but thus far nothing I have really gotten comfortable with or felt good about the result has worked. This little technique looks like a winner so I cant wait to try it out. I also am starting to notice the sagging eyelids as well as fine lines and shhhh wrinkles. That just between us girls tho 😂! I will be 51 in July and have always been into makeup. I find myself needing to learn these great lil tricks since gravity is no longer my friend.. haha!! Soo I certainly look forward to the next video to learn something new that will actually work. Just a suggestion but I also struggle w brows. I have a scar in my right brow and it seems impossible to even get cousins outta these gals! I would love something on how to fix this problem or give the illusion that its fixed. Its not so much as issue w having the scar its how it affects my brow and brow growth in the scarred area. Please HELP !!! As always your a joy to watch and I just love all of your content. A beautiful soul that shows inside and out !!! ❤🫶🤩🥰
Glad to hear so many of you have eyeliner anxiety. I love just wearing black eyeliner. It looks so beautiful on it's own. I don’t wear a lot of eyeshadow because of my oily lids. When I think about putting it on.... there's a lot of hesitation. Then I end up not doing it. Thanks for the amazing tip.
your beauty is only enhanced by those signs of maturity. eyeliner tutorial is Lovely ! i have hooded eyes and my eye area is Super Sensitive and this technique seems doable for me (liquid eyeliner alone is like near impossible for me to correct and do in one go )
Erin you are sincerely a striking woman. Sometimes I say to myself…this woman does not need a swipe of makeup. You have a million dollar personality as well. 💚
So few people have your natural eye color and it’s absolutely stunning. I, too, have saggy eyelids - runs in the family! - and I cannot wait to use some of these tips. Thank you! ❤
Thank you! I have 'the sag' beginning, at 47 yrs, but also slightly different amounts of space on both lids (right less space than left) plus I think my eyes are getting slightly deeper set, to add to the challenge (plus my granny's jowls beginning...+ frown line ever deepening, + lip lines- which are the worst...ahh I could go on!) I pretty much gave up winged liner...but... seeing your vid has motivated me to try again just once...or mayyybeeee it'll take several attempts... ;) Take care, lovely x
THANK YOU ! I'm 55 last couple of years ive really struggled with sagging eyes and like you I'm not ready to go to basicly 1 shadow look to "help", but also not ready for an eyelid lift either (probably coming soon to a plastic surgeon near me😂) lLove your channel ❤❤❤❤
Yes, yes, YES!!! Thank you for this ☺️. I’m one of those unlucky few who were born with drooping eyelids in the first place, add to that… I’ll be 57 next month and, you get the picture. I do wear glasses, I don’t have them on in that selfie I took there for my profile picture last month, but they help to camouflage them, or at least I THINK they help, lol. I do love makeup, and dyeing my own hair, it makes me feel better about my own appearance, and I haven’t worn eyeliner in at least a decade or more. I used to do a smallish wing back in the day, I’m going to try this and see how it works out! 💖🌸💖
I am DEFINITELY going to try your tips! I have big eyes with large eyelid space, and for the last 15 years--I'm 62 now--I've really struggled to do cat-eye looks and winged liner, thanks to the sogginess of my eyelids. I've all but given up and resorted to deep gray or taupe powder all over the lid with a bit underneath at the outer third of the lower lid. But it's a rather dull, smoky look as opposed to the fabulous vintage look you're doing, which is much more special-looking for evening. Thank you EVER so much, Erin.
This is the liner tutorial I needed. 🖤🖤🖤 My lids are sooo droopy and annoying to put liner on. Thank you so, SOOO much, Erin!!! I just had emergency surgery, so I'm on bedrest, but ya know...who says I can't play with my liner and look glamorous whilst I lay here. It's the perfect time to practice. 😅💅🖤
@allisonnovak500 That's so sweet of you! Thank you so much! 🥺 Best wishes to you, too, for all your endeavors, health and well-being! 🖤🖤🖤 Any may your eyeliner always be on point! 🖤🖤🖤
Thank god theres someone doing tutorials for us women older than 25 lol id LOVE a video on how to do foundation/concealer without emphasizing fine lines!
When I was in my twenties many years ago (I’m 64 now) I had so much fun with make up because I had a lot of lid, however now it’s another story and I can’t remember the last time I did anything other than mascara, lippy and blush. I am very lucky in every other aspect because I have great skin and only a few laugh lines. However I have chickened out doing anything with my eyes but you have encouraged me to give this a go and though it’s not perfect it definitely works and my daughters think your technique is great too. Thanks from the UK❤😊
GIRL! OMG! THAAAAANK YOUUUUUUUUUUU! I've admired your liner since the first time I saw a short with you. I've always had saggy lids. I've always LOVED winged liner, even in the early 90s. (Man did I get made fun of when I entered grade 8 with winged liner! Did it anyway.) This is the first tut that has covered our beautiful shape of eyes. I love you so much! I'm going to try this RIGHT NOW! Also, teach me your ways, gimme all the tuts you're amazing.
Ha! They called me the makeup master of disaster in 8th grade, and I could have cared less too! I got a set of rainbow colored mascaras and dammit…I was going to use a different color every day! Lol…kids are cruel. Glad to find another person who stood their ground too, and did what you liked! ❤
I used to sneak in the bathroom at school and do my makeup because I wasn’t allowed to wear it 😝 I bet your winged liner is beautiful! Those bullies were just jealous 😊
i love your work erin! do you happen to have any tips for sagging hooded/monolids? makeup stresses me out so much since one liner always has to be thicker on one side and it looks dumb. plus my lashes on one side are always pushed down too. (bc of my uneven eyes)
I think the best thing to do is for me to find someone with this eye shape and share a few different looks. 🤗 it’s sort of hard to explain ideas in comments so would rather just show ya!
Gotta say I kinda lost my respect for make-up artists for quite sometime with all this crappy "beauty guru" tik tokers /youtubers whose only interest is to just shove some products down your throat and call it a day. HOWEVER, you truely made me appreciate and respect the artistry once more , keep it up girl you're killing it👏
I love your longer content 💜💜💜 so informative and interesting. I do appreciate your shorts immensely. You pick SO MUCH information and history into such a small window of time. You are a true artist, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your love of history with us as well.
Amazing tip!! I've struggled with this and I have NEVER thought about using non waterproof first to sketch. I am soooo happy you share your knowledge. You could charge for courses but here you are, giving us all these tips, helping us step up our makeup game, for free!! You're the best!
Wonderful tips and it looks stunning. Especially grateful for the frank and honest mention of surgery. It's so refreshing to see someone unapologetically talk about having a surgery that makes them feel happier. Drives me crazy when people get critical.
thank you thank you THANK YOU! I've been struggling so hard trying to get my eyeliner on perfectly the very first time and it's always a miserable time. Being able to sketch it out first and then go over it with the liquid liner is LIFE CHANGING
I’m 3/4 Asian and 1/4 white and I’ve had slightly heavy lids from birth lol..they aren’t quite monolids but also aren’t deep and this look has helped me finally be able to both see my cat eye and also help with droopy lids that have recently dropped further (I’m 42) instead of looking straight ahead I tilt my chin up and look “down” my nose at the mirror and create that straight angle to form a cat eye..it makes it a little more smooth but keeps the drama lol
Thank you so much for sharing this technique! Years ago I woke up one morning and the right side of my face had dropped. I found out later at the doctor that I had Bell's Palsy. My right lid never quite recovered and I am also a very young 53. So I always have trouble with saggy eyes. I can't wait to start trying this technique! Thank you again!
I use the OG brush with liquid liner. The brush doesn't pull on my skin like the pens and pencils do. Now that I'm an old goth lady in my late 40s, I'm kind of glad the brush was all that was available in the late 80's/early 90's, it forced me to learn how to do it well. It was quite the learning curve, honestly. How many of y'all remember making the wing bigger and bigger as you tried to correct mistakes 😅😂
Erin- no bull , literally yesterday," I said to myself I wonder how she does her eyes bc she's my age and I know exactly what the eyes do". This is such a perfect tutorial!
Thanks for the lessons, Erin! I also use this technique on clients, and like you said, it does take away the anxiety. I always regret being lazy and going in with liquid liner on myself. Even when I’m in a hurry, this is still faster and safer because I’m not always having the easiest and best liner day.
I have hooded eyes and they are sagging a lot. I have been thinking about getting the same surgery to help mine look better. I’m 48 and things are sagging everywhere lol. You are such an inspiration and so beautiful!
Erin, thank you so much! I'm a huge fan of yours. Your mindset about make up and appearance seems to come from a place of creativity versus the 'filtered influencers' who gather so many of us in close to the computer screen to tell us with their subtext, "I'm going to teach you how to not be so ugly. Instead, you can be pretty like me". . . By contrast, you are indeed beautiful and glamorous, but you give us history and context. And I connect w your love of colors and textures and techniques. With you, I find a sense of acceptance, curiosity, whimsy and most appreciated a sense of play! It turns make up application from a fright fest of insecurity, approval seeking and conformity to an art studio of exploration. Thanks for sharing yourself with us!
this is the best most comprehensive tutorial I've ever seen for doing eyeliner/wings...I am 58 ans I've never been able to do wings bc it just never looks right on my eyes but i am going to try this. i just found your channel and i love it. thank you.
Also thank you for being honest about getting surgical enhancement. I have have had lo on my double chin and am trying not to feel ashamed of that, so seeing other beautiful people open up makes me feel more comfortable with it :)

That’s what I thought. I never thought of going over the sag, I always pulled the skin to apply liner. My Big mistake.
Exactly! I never thought about sketching before liquid liner as well.
Totally agree…hands dowm

@@alexandrasaadi7149 Just make sure it's not the waterproof long-last kind, and prep the skin with eye cream first!
@@madamedex5989 oh yeah! Thanks!! I have a multitude of eye creams… from rich to a serum texture. Does it matter what formula I should pre with?
@@alexandrasaadi7149 Nope. Just regular skin prep. I've used scotch tape in the past, but I know some people have sensitivities to adhesives, so I switched to med tape. It can be extra sticky but I got good results recently with just making sure there's plenty of moisture on the skin.
Thanks for sharing your technique. ❤
Hooded eyes aren't the same as sagging eyes so why would they use that term? What a weird thing to respect.
And most of all if you don't have anything good to say then you don't have to say anything
In my country we have a saying that say some time being silent makes you look much smarter than saying something like you did.
You could just have just said the first sentence you really didn't need to add the second one to try to put me down.
You really got the wrong person for that.

I needed this so badly. 60 years old and still want to enjoy makeup, not use it like a mask. Thank you Erin.
Rock it, please 🙏🏼 and feel beautiful 😊
I am in the same boat! I’m 54 and pretty good skin still. And I love makeup but I need to know how to keep looking good and not older because of my poor technique
Question 🙋♀️ what timeframe is the cat eye or wing 🪽 from?
@@Timetraveler1111MNI'm going to guess Egyptian. Cleopatra wore it.

Time to go get a pencil eyeliner!!!!!!
THANK YOU
Oh I’m so happy to hear that 🤗!
Those are among my favorites too…I trust Erin, Wayne and Robert🖤 they truly are coming from such a good place
@@erinparsonsmakeup I loved this new intro ❤😂 the tutorial was amazing ❤
omg setting the shape and then going over it with liquid liner later after everything else is applied ... 🤯It's so simple yet so brilliant, I can't wait to try it!
I love watching you do your makeup. My eyes have been severely dry for 30 years, and we aren't supposed to wear anything. I miss it, so I'm living through you and others. So thank you.
Can you do lipstick? I love a bold lip with a totally clean face, so chic 😊
@@erinparsonsmakeup oooo that's a good idea. I'm dyspraxic and struggle with makeup but thatcsounds fun 😊
@Erin Parsons Makeup Yes. Thank you for asking. I do wear it to bring colour to my face. I'm grateful that we are allowed to do that.
Thank you for the thumbs up everyone. Much appreciated. 💜
@@bossyboots5000 It’s true! When I was younger, I never imagined the changes that have happened.
Same!!!!
You have to be joking _...where?!_
@@Sssssssslf if you're asking where my hood/sag is, I make efforts to hold my brows high in photos so that it doesn't show.
Lol.
This is my exact routine with my black eyeliner now!! I started doing it when i noticed sagging. I feel so validated right now 🥰🥰
Even though I’m only 26, my eyelids have decided to sag and be droopy, so this helps so much! I love how you said it doesn’t have to be perfect it makes me feel so much better
Retin-a
@@tnt01 even if it's genetic? Some of us just have hooded lids even at a young age. Some of us lose it to some degree as we age and lose some baby fat. Mine improved with regular directional massage with one of those silicone bristled face cleaning massagers (I have the medium sized Foreo) over several years of diligent use, but mostly I've gotten the outer corners observably higher than where they started off (my eyes were technically perfectly horizontal but seemed droopy because of excess skin)
You might simply have hooded eyes, which isn't age related, it just how genetics decided your eyelids should be, kinda like how some folks have a monolid
@@tnt01 Yeah that doesn't help if that's your default lid shape. The retinol cream I use has improved my undereye bags a lot though
@@Amy_the_Lizard it helped me.
I love that particular blonde shade so much, it looks so beautiful on you!
Thank you for being honest about the surgery. You’re gorgeous and so talented and it helps us regular ladies have realistic standards on ourselves and if we want a little tune up it takes the shame out of it to be HONEST. So refreshing!
As a former makeup artist, I would get serious performance anxiety doing liquid liner after eyeshadow. This is genius.
I love this analogy! You just need that blocky shape to start and then you can carve out perfection! 😊

I am 62 and ALWAYS and I mean A,WAYS wore winged liner, now you have saved my life !!!😊
I love how this tutorial is helpful with creating the standard and iconic winged liner look.
PLEASE do more on sagging eyes, and hooded eyes! I cant use any of my favorite eyeshadows anymore, and am so sad!!! Please do hooded eyes! xxx
Please let me know how it goes! 🤗
Years ago I had a friend who did makeup for an agency here in Chicago. She recommended this process and I've used it ever since. It's the best!
Omg that is SUCH a good idea, to go over the liner with a waterproof liner!!! Why did I never think of that??
i'm livinggggg cos this is exactly how i've always done my liner!! 😂 good to know i'm golden on my techinque for decades to come, thanks so much for sharing! 💖

I don't even use makeup, and I love watching your videos; especially your social history through makeup. I've learnt so much!!!
Thank you so much for this tutorial.💗
I used to have gorgeous big open top lids.
It’s like I woke up one morning to my lids screaming, “I can’t take it anymore!” and then watched them lay down on my face and die of exhaustion!🤦🏼♀️
The worst part is, I can’t figure out how to do my eye make up in a flattering way anymore. I used to think I did my make up pretty well, now I’m thinking it was only because my face was a younger better canvas, making it easier to do.🤷🏼♀️☹️
I love your content, all the history, stories, everything. After seeing this tutorial, I love you even more! Keep up your beautiful work!💗😁
P.S. My profile picture was taken about six years ago. It was soon after that, my saggy-eyelid-armageddon started. And yes, I know it’s an old profile picture, I like the way I looked, and no, I don’t ever intend to change it!😜👍

It's crazy, I have no interest in wearing makeup myself, but the art and technique of it all is absolutely fascinating. Thanks for the video!

Thank you! I have 'the sag' beginning, at 47 yrs, but also slightly different amounts of space on both lids (right less space than left) plus I think my eyes are getting slightly deeper set, to add to the challenge (plus my granny's jowls beginning...+ frown line ever deepening, + lip lines- which are the worst...ahh I could go on!)
I pretty much gave up winged liner...but... seeing your vid has motivated me to try again just once...or mayyybeeee it'll take several attempts... ;) Take care, lovely x

Thank you us saggy eyelid girls need tutorials too! So amazing I followed your guide came out beautiful!❤🎉
You’re wonderful. Thank you for distilling and sharing what took you decades to learn/perfect. 💋
You look so beautiful without liner - ethereal - but the wing looks incredible!

When I was in my twenties many years ago (I’m 64 now) I had so much fun with make up because I had a lot of lid, however now it’s another story and I can’t remember the last time I did anything other than mascara, lippy and blush. Especially grateful for the frank and honest mention of surgery. It's so refreshing to see someone unapologetically talk about having a surgery that makes them feel happier. Drives me crazy when people get critical.
Brilliant! Can you do one about overlining lips? When I try i always end up with a fish mouth haha
thank you thank you THANK YOU!
I’ve been missing wearing my winged liner for about ten years. I never thought I could wear it again until watching this! Thank you so much!❤
I'm 23 and I've always had saggy eyelids.. makes me so sad and insecure.
I bet you have beautiful eyes. ❤
Erin is physically perfect and seems so incredibly smart and kind. I admire her so much
Thank you so much for sharing this technique!
