the moment they announced it was gonna be a musical I lost all interest, this movie is a prime example of when not to do sequels.

I heard this a few days ago....Heard the ending was very hate or love.
The first movie is much better if you try not to trust the Joker and try to pin point where he’s lying.

I wasn't a fan of the 1st movie but I definitely wasn't expecting the ending of this one.
I honestly thought it was all in his head & "Lee" was just a madeup person in his head haha
I'm part of the 20% ..... and over time, that percentage will grow considerably.
(many of the present 80% will then pretend that they recognized its brilliance all along)
I was just talking about this with a friend. He asked if i was down to go watch it, i told him "idk, they said its a musical" i looked up youtube reviews and almost all of them said it wasn't good. Yeah ima wait till this movie is on max or Netflix.
Besides the recent crow movie this year...this is the only movie that has been getting terrible reviews across the board....I had high hope for it too
@@clos24788 I lost all hope for this movie once I knew it was going to be a musical, That was months ago.i also wasn't a big fan of Deadpool and wolverine, it was fun to watch but it wasn't anything spectacular. If they make X-Men 97 into a motion picture frame by frame like the animation, it would be the best work MCU could ever provide.

Im seeing a lot of hate for this movie, but Im going in without paying attention to the reviews, Im wondering if its just a case of people not getting it, sometimes when a movie goes too deep people just dont get it, sometimes you need to smoke a big fat joint and really pay attention..

I agree with you. It wasn’t an awful movie by any stretch but did feel a little directionless. Some scenes were great. The performances were great. But overall the writing and plot just don’t hold a candle to the first
Thought it was great. There weren't too many songs. The court room scenes were great. I don't get all the hate. People should give it a chance.

Batman was a little kid in the first one it’s only been two years
I think the movie has some genius to it. It reflects reality. People never cared about Arthur fleck whose suffering led to crime.They want him to lose his mind and fuck shit up. In other words, they only care about the joker (The degeneracy). They all abandoned him in the court room the second he dropped the fascade and revealed he's also a human being. In the same way people shat on the movie because it didn't turn out to be about the joker but a human being who was mistreated. I get the frustration of the reverse uno card played on the audience. We were catfished & the movie didn't add much at all to the story.
Not gonna watch this, Joker was great and I don't wanna ruin it's rewatchability.
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and find spoilers and go see Deadpool and Wolverine again

Although I didn't like the movie, I really Lady Gaga's performance as she fitted quite well with the idea of making Joker seem a musical, but it's not her fault if Joker 2 wasn't better than the first one.
when it was announced and harley is in it i was like ok see how it turns out ... about 2 weeks later was announced its gonna be a musical i was like welp no need to see how it turns out now lol lost all interest immediately even more so when i seen the still shot of him dancing around in the courtroom singing with a guard just standing there not doing nothing while the joker is like on the lap of the judge lol smh in what real world courtroom would that happen , none is the answer ,and i hear ppl talking about the ending not spoiling it but im assuming the whole movie takes place in his head it would have to for that court scene alone to make any sense

The movie was made almost exclusively to mock all the "sigma" losers that glorified the first film. Which I fully support, but they wasted an opportunity to also make a good film featuring Harley Quinn.
They could have included the idea of: "all of you idolizing the Joker, are cringe", in a single scene, get the point across, and then use the rest of the film to tell a good story. The promotional campaign focused so heavily on Harley Quinn, and she's barely there. The whole pyromaniac theme for her was so interesting, and we saw none of it being explored.
Wasted potential, wasted characters, wasted talent.

I feel like if I rewatched the first one before this I would’ve hated it. It was a weird movie but I enjoyed it a lot. It didn’t need to happen at all tho

I liked alot of aspects of the movie as stand alone concepts if you seperate them from everything else. It was a very disjointed experience probably intentional as the whole movie is between playing a character vs being mentally ill vs there being no difference sometimes.
Society treats us with depression, anxiety, like shit. They blame us for everything and then therapy is looked down on and fear mongered. so personally, I loved these films for just that aspect

The first film was a good one-time story. No need for this sequel. I think Todd Phillips or WB should have made character study films based on unused Batman villains. Like Clayface, an adoring actor who got disfigured. Using a substance for a cure to bring back his acting and vanity. A serial drama on Calender man or Madhatter.
This is the movie equivalent to Metallica’s St. Anger.

I wasn’t a big fan of the first movie. Happy Joaquin got his Oscar but honestly it was a meh film. Not bad, not good. It was average. Don’t know how it made a billion dollars but I also wonder the same about Aquaman.

I didn’t enjoy the first one. So I’ll wait for streaming. I have seen some reviewers bomb it. Cosplay Chris gave it 3/5. Dave The Film Junkee liked it. I didn’t like Authur Fleck. He’s a woe is me, feel sorry for me, the world is mean to me. And he wants me to feel sorry for him. But I don’t. Where as Heath Ledgers just is. He’s brutally honest. Is right about alot of things, and doesn’t feel sorry for himself.

Dang, so far your review has been the most positive 😂 they must’ve screwed up big time. That’s disappointing to hear because I think it could’ve been interesting to introduce the Harley character and show the darker, manipulative side of Arthur so we can see why he’s a villain and not an anti hero, and maybe continue the progression of his insanity and him basically transforming into the psychopathic Joker that were more used to
In this movie, Harley plays joker for a fool and joker doesn't manipulate anyone he just gets abused the entire movie.
Part of me feels like this is gonna go down as one of the worst movie sequels OAT. Like people are gonna be talking about this for years.

Proof that some films don't need sequels. Heck Star Wars (1977) and the Matrix (1999) ended in a way that a sequel wasn't needed. But box office returns talks.

The original movie was a nice self-contained story and very much did not need a sequel. Todd Phillips also clearly didn't want to make one.

I liked it, which I was a bit surprised at considering I don’t enjoy musicals. The ending in particular was really cool imo of you know about an important joker comic run from a few years ago.

Another inmate at Arkham tells Arthur a joke, stabs him for disappointing him, then cuts a smile into his own face while Arthur dies, becoming the next (the real?) Joker.
