at least in Michigan I have always been warned away from pinion guards due to their ability to scoop and hold mud . Keeping the u-joints and pinion seal rotating through the mud. Even with the drain holes I could see it being a sand / mud trap. We don't really have any natural rock formations here.

    • @muddyWW

I have this exact same pinon guard on mine and I'm here in Michigan also, I know where to find some machined placed rocks. Jeremy I have been contemplating the idea of fabricating a drive shaft "skid plate" it would attach to the diff (pinion gard or diff skid etc.) with a pivot, probably a poly bushing(like a leaf spring uses) or some other low profile pivot, Up at the cross member/T-case would be possibly a Johny joint and a "slip yolk", connecting these two points would be some BEEF to allow the beatings to commence without the proverbial barber pole decorations happening to our D-shafts! Any thoughts, have you seen this? What am I missing? LOL

By the way... rear pinion guards are climate specific... meaning, soupy sticky muddy climates, have caused nothing but trouble running a pinion guard on the rear... but in dry rocky area off roading, only a few times did a rock get wedged in between that joint area and guard, which just makes a munches of vibrational noise... and typically bust's the rock so it can fall out on its own, or I simply pick it out with a prybar or tire bead breaker bar... if it is slate stone, I just let it crunch it self up on its own,,, but if it is granite, I stop right away and pick the chunk out, ... But, in muddy areas, they never fall out on their own and is like a shovel for collecting rocks, and it scares me every time , as the moment the rock chunk catches and wedges itself, just when the moment it crushes the rock, always sounds like I broke a U-joint or axleshaft or something... as it sounds the same, and shakes the rig the same way too.... I don't run them now, and just pick better lines, as I am not aggressive anyways, as I am getting too old to fix my junk anymore... LOL

Antiseize keeps dissimilar metals from chemically fusing over time and loctite creates a mechanical bond. I’ve heard of people just using grease as an antiseize but I don’t recommend that. Anyway, I suppose it is possible to put both antiseize and loctite on the same bolt.

Is he really putting Loctite and anti seize on the same bolt what's the logic behind that I thought you were supposed to put Loctite to keep it in there an anti seize so it doesn't get stuck in there let me know

I just jacked it up enough to rotate the Driveline I never took the tires off of it they're 43 inch tires..

Whaaaaaat. Jack stands for the jeep with tires on and a half inch in the air so you can spin the driveshaft. That you can literally sit up straight underneath when not even jacked.

@@jeremyrose7541 So you figured there was enough clearance for you to fit in even if the hydraulic jack failed. Thought that might be the plan, but was still a bit on the edge of my seat watching you crawl around under there with just a floor jack on the pumpkin. Braver man than me!
