Tip: for that nut that got stuck on the lower balljoint, what you need to do is add pressure. that nut is just getting caught on rust or dirt thats on the threads. then the whole balljoint is spinning with it. Take a long prybar and put it between the spindle/knuckle youre removing and the axle tube ends. push down so there is force against the balljoint, that will help hold the balljoint in place (cause of all that pressure youre putting on it) and let the nut actually break through whatever is holding it back
I was one of the dicks in the last video comments section. Thank you. So. Much. Two thumbs way up! Watched the whole thing. I started the video thinking I'd know everything you had to show, but thought If you'd listened in the last comments you absolutely deserve a second shot. Great video. And thanks.

Great looking job, lucky you getting the locker in the diff. Easy job fitting the struss for added Strength, you got a good helper right there with you too. God bless both of ya guys
Lol🤣👍. Not mine, it is sitting at 5,200 pounds empty, without my recovery gear, no tools and no spare tire. The New optioned "DIY Hybrid exo cage" by XO Fab in Enumclaw Washington will be or is going in probably in 3 weeks from now. Then I will mock up the the full exo cage off of that. After I cage it I suspect it hits anywhere from 5,500-5,700LBs.😁🥳

@@patpollifrone9827 I think the sticky shtick is greatness. Not for all I guess. Wonderful video, much better audio than other vids I've seen you two in. I like the voice over parts. It's hard to capture good audio in a shop, without expensive equipment. Keeping it Sticky in Texas!
I found that if you use a wire wheel on a drill and scrub your threads of your ball joints, or and bolts for that matter, it usually helps to make disassemble go much easier . And it also makes it faster and easier to get penetrating oil to soak in the threads, because you are removing much of the rust and dirt first.
I know this is a little off topic but I love that Chicago Electric half inch impact. I got mine on sale for 40 bucks 7 years ago and I've beaten the crap out of it, left it in the rain one night, dropped it from about 5 feet up and it still uga dugus nuts and bolts off fairly easily

So there are actually kits that utilize the stock brackets and that would have for sure been an option... if we hadn’t already cut them off when we found out about them haha

Great video, but please return those harbour freight jack stands there was a recall on them, I tested them myself and almost lost a finger. You can lift lever and load will drop. I’m also in the process of doing a 1 ton swap got to love Barnes 4wd.
flyingblowsify thanks man! There are serial numbers on the HF website. Ours were fortunately not the ones from the faulty cast. But thank you for lookin out for us man!
Use a pry bar, or some kind of ball joint separator to apply pressure between axle and knuckle and it will keep the ball joint from spinning due to friction
Bleepin STICKY Kids glad you guys dropped the whole sticky thing. I don’t need axles but actually watched the whole thing just to see the difference between this and my 78. Good job showing the tech behind it
When I have a difficult ball joint at work and I’m not saving them... because at this point the joint may need replaced anyways, I’ll just cut the bolt. If not, and the axel is near something to pry up on I use a 6’ bar to pry the knuckle tighter into the joint and hit with my impact at the same time. Small bursts if it keeps spinning... I rarely ever to cut them out.
Question: You are going full hydro for the street? Follow-ups: how much steering angle are you shooting for? Are you using a weld-on high steering arm kit? Question: Are you going to rotate the inner Cs to increase castor while also having a good pinion angle? Question: Are you going to use the Ford 10.5" for the rear? Question: Since you are going to pop the differential to install a front locker, why not just remove it now?
David, thanks for all the questions! Llamazeen is going to be a trailer Queen so I’m not that worried about the streetability. We will be using the weld on kit from Barnes and just gonna leave the inner Cs where they are and adjust castor with control arm length👍 next we will be using the 99-2006 14B with a spool and factory disk brakes, redrilling the front unit bearings and hubs to match the standard wheel pattern
Forgot about the locker question... we have removed the truss and full hydro mount (light tacks dude👌) for that exact purpose. We also welded the tubes to the chunk while the truss is off 👍 thanks for the questions man! Follow us on IG @bleepinstickykids
Hi BleepinJeep, Question I;m hoping you can help me out with- My 99 XJ- When I start the engine the air bag light comes on and the blower motor will not work and the turn signals only work when appyling the brake pedal, Drive it for 10 minutes then the blower pops on and the turn signals work properly. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Have this same axle on my 2006 Super Duty. The auto hubs are garbage. Throw those hubs away and get a set of Warn's. Also, keep in mind that you'll have to run a minimum of a 20" wheel to clear the huge brakes.
when i get a ball joint that just want to spin i usually grab a pry bar and pry against the knuckle and axle right by the ball joint causing it to bind allowing me to zip off the nut

Just to be clear: labels such as millennial and boomer are sweeping generalizations - a type of fallacy. I thought the shirt was funny because it implies the younger generation does not know how to drive a manual transmission. I have a '95 Jeep XJ, I am the original owner, and it has a manual transmission. I used to live in a very rough part of town - lots of car theft, drug dealing, and drive by shootings. Nobody ever messed with my jeep because, I presume, it's a stick shift. So really, the slogan could drop the word "millennial" and that would make it more accurate.
Answer your question how do you get that spinning ball joint off if the axle was still mounted in the vehicleput a jack underneath the knuckle and Jack that up so it pushes the ball joint in there and locks it and then you can take the nut off
Put pressure on the ball joint. Use a impact. It'll come loose. Use your imagination coz situations are different. If it's on the truck u I've the floor jack to put upward pressure on the ball joint
