I would say this though at first it's really fun managing all your stuff but then it gets a little repetitive and after awhile you can basically tell you Providences to do everything for you.
Been thinking of checking this out and this review probably pushed me over the edge. Awesome job, and I look forward to checking out more stuff on your channel!
I think it's interesting how the NA rendition of Nobunaga looks identical to his Samurai Warriors rendition, while other recurring characters look different. I guess the more popular characters have more historical details to go off of in terms of appearance, which explains the consistency in their appearances.
actually some of the info presented was wrong x] from example the options: vassal - submit. one of them is asking another clan to be your vassal. the other is offering to be THEIR vassal. the star sign is creativity
Thanks for the video, I bought this game yesterday and was very confused when I first playing it, but this video has helped me understand the mechanics of the game a lot better. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for your lets play
This is great! you are one of the earliest reviews i have seen, and im so glad this game looks like it wont be a disappointment, there arent many strategy games out for PS4 so i was really looking forward to it.
Always loved Nobunnaga's Ambition more than the Romance of the Three Kingdoms series. Not sure if they have different dev teams, but Ambition always seemed to be experimenting and pushing new ideas forward. Haven't really sat down and played one since Iron Triangle though, so I'll have to pick this one up if I ever get the chance.
Slap nobunaga's name on the title and it sells. Worked on me cuz I bought the Japanese version. Wished I knew Japanese back then. Damn me and my fanboy-self on Nobunaga. Loved the ending when the army of Satake Clan 8000 was marching up to mess things up for this review. Hilarious, please keep doing this.
Hey man thanks for the info about game.I love Oda Nobunaga i personally played every game that was going around him.Oda Nobunaga is one of best daimyo and first to unite 1/3 of japan
You can use created officers in any scenario provided they are of age. The reason you couldn't turn them on is because you had no created officers saved. Also, the "star thing" on the command menu is innovation. Clans with Progressive beliefs start with high innovation, Neutral start with an innovation around 500, and Conservative clans start with low Innovation. You probably know all this by now. Just putting this here for people who don't.
Very interesting video, and looks like a great game (albeit perhaps a bit... deep in options, i'd probably get some serious helmet fire trying to play it) @13:13 you say the Imperial Court was the court of the failing (Ashikaga) shogunate during the sengoku period. you made a slight mistake there. The imperial court is, as the name suggests, the court of the Emperor. During the Muromachi, Azuchi-Momoyama and Edo periods (up until the meiji restoration in the 1860's), the Emperor had little to no power over the actual politics of the country, he was only able to suggest courses of action, which some Daimyo would obey, or even take at heart. The true power being held by the Shogun or the Kampaku (Regent, such as Toyotomi Hideyoshi), or in the case of the warring states era, whoever had the biggest army. But i digress.... the poing being the Imperial Court is unrelated to the Shogunate at the main administrative levels. (which is funny, because it was the Emperor who named Tokugawa Ieyasu as Shogun)
I'm having a lot of fun so far, though one problem I'm finding is the mid to late game. I have a lot of fun playing as a small clan and expanding outwards, but by the time I'm a major power, and am strong enough to fight the other big clans, I get bored with it, because it just seems like it'll take a lot of time.
Why do I lose soldiers after entering a castle? I fielded an army of about 5000 people. conquered an enemy castle, and moved them in, but there is no change of the amount of soldiers in that newly acquired castle.
Great game, loving it so far, really has a Rotk 10 feel to it which is good cuz it was my favorite one. But quick question, whenever I try and move an officer with troops and make him enter a city why do all the troops he had with him disappear?
+Wiratama +Blue Domino +The9KGamer Due to Feudal system in that era, soldiers were tied to their castle lord and their very own land/city. You can not move them to other castles because it was very disrespectful to their own lord. In this game if you do they will automatically disband themselves and return to where they got drafted. In reality, when Castle lord of his own army enter other Castle that doesn't belong to him he loses the castle lord status of his native castle so the army is leaderless, it's a honor thing to do at that era. So the army disbands themselves and return home. Clearly that koei has done their homework about history well enough to add such little detail like this in game. This is not a bug at all.
Your voice sounds fine man, if you have a speech impediment with your tongue or whatever I wouldn't worry about it. Just tell the internet bullies to shove it, I think you sound fine. Thanks for the video.
Anyone able to rate the strategy element of this game as compared to shogun 2 total war (overall with combat and progression, building, economy, etc.)?
Just a tiny comment at around 13:30 you start talking about the Imperial Court... For some reason though you start mentioning the Shogun, but that's incorrect, of course, you're not asking anything from the Shogun, the Imperial Court is for the.... Emperor. So in the example you are showing that you can request titles from the Emperor, which by the way is historically accurate.
far as i know, the star SHOULD mean fame. Or how populare you are. The lower it is, the higher the chance of a revolt. I may the wrong. But thats what i'd think...
Always loved the Nobunaga's Ambition series. However, I feel this one is lacking as compared to the previous one (Iron Triangle). The 3D battle, despite being commendable, feels lackluster.
+Ron Hughes (reh3d) Pretty sure it is NOT a MMORPG. I haven't heard anything about "massive" numbers of people being able to play it at the same time. In fact, I'm pretty sure it has NO multiplayer at all. ;)
If you have played a kessen, Romance of the three kingdoms game or any past Nobunaga game. You are without a doubt going to love this game. If you like a crusader kings and CA games (total war) you are going to probably like this game a lot too. If you like dynasty warriors (idk why you would after 15 years of the same thing) and don't like this style of rts/turn based strategy, you will hate this. The game is great if this is what you're looking for.
+Shavez Lee I Played Romance of the 3 kingdoms 7 on PS1 before... I find this oddly similar... whooo.. Im 29 now and im walking down the memory lane...ROTK made me stay up all night and sleep all day. I WAS IN HIGH SCHOol...
you are like me when i'm trying to explain some terms the person to me dont know with something like real life words. Nice job. For example dota 2. If you say gangs, defend, roshan etc you know and the person to you never played the moba you need to tell them what they means from real life perspective. NIce review again. Keep it up. Never brake down. But games like this is too difficult for me....
Thanks for review. It is a solid review, maybe too pacy for my liking. Anyway, I suggest making "let's play" series on this game. Battle was disaster, you were downhill, they were on the top of the hill, and as soon as I saw you moving straght toward them, I thought to myself - this will be a massacre..... Bona fidae speaking, I suggest playing Total War games :) Seems okay game, I will download it and test. Thanks for the review sir!
+bluediamondwarriors5 Also, just a heads-up, this game is originally a PC game and was developed for PC first, and then ported to consoles. For those worried about KT's porting history, you can rest easy on this one.
Hey man , im just couple hours into the game still cant get how facilities work. Somehow commons/fairs/fountains/landmarks appear and i can build something. Which one is the best to build? and i have enough money to upgrade, but i cant seem to upgrade it. And what does this "adjecent district" with 3 logo there mean, is it a requirement to upgrade?
+Stephanie Strange Hey Steph thanks for lengthy explanation, kindda new to this game. Ok so from your advice here, i will focus on developing crop first, and building that increase population. This way, more upgrade will be available fr me to choose yeah? Do you think i should Entice all list of available solider out there?
+Stephanie Strange Ok now i get it, there is a list here 20=foreign income. How do i know how much i get per month from them? is it advisable to increase the one with "friendly" status?
+Stephanie Strange I just deploy an army of 4000 to conquer castle, it looks like it withstand the attack but when i enter it left only 700..isnt that weird? Soldiers will resuply over time right?
+Blahto Blahtoto Don't worry, I bought it back and after two days of fighting, I took all their territory and wiped them out. Executed both their clan heads too.
+Thalmor Justiciar Yeah, if you turn females into officers instead of maidens, they can no longer marry even though the text of the game in the action menu refers to them as women.
Dynasty warriors was actually originally a spin off of the romance of the three kingdoms games if i remember correctly. This is made by the same developer as those games and the dynasty warriors ones. So yes. Lots of that influence.
vn01208503 I knew these game where related somehow! The menu style, the art and character design, even the text police seems similar. Thanks for the info :)
Dont worry bout those nit pickin wankers.... Seems the game is pretty cool... I am downloading now... Looks kinda Interesting to me.. Thx 4 all the info..
I bought this game because of this video.
thank you for supporting the developers, I pirated the game and I feel like shit :(
+c88.rex then buy it
I would say this though at first it's really fun managing all your stuff but then it gets a little repetitive and after awhile you can basically tell you Providences to do everything for you.
LegoSwordViedos
but you don't have to use your provinces in that way
Nergal134
But then it's just micromanaging for the sake of micromanaging that is not fun to me. And there is no reward.
That "star thing" is called "Innovation" that determine which policy you can enact.
Been thinking of checking this out and this review probably pushed me over the edge. Awesome job, and I look forward to checking out more stuff on your channel!

Thanks for the video, I bought this game yesterday and was very confused when I first playing it, but this video has helped me understand the mechanics of the game a lot better. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for your lets play
I was just looking at this game but wanted to see more. Great vid.
"You need to bow down and suck it because I'm a lot stronger than you are."
That came out of your brain. XD
at what minute he said that? XD
Great game. I actually love this series. I played Lord of Darkness, Iron Triangle and a bit of Nobunaga's Ambition II and Rise to Power.
same here
This is great! you are one of the earliest reviews i have seen, and im so glad this game looks like it wont be a disappointment, there arent many strategy games out for PS4 so i was really looking forward to it.
is anyone else here because they found out this series is coming to the switch and you want to know what the hell it is
Always loved Nobunnaga's Ambition more than the Romance of the Three Kingdoms series. Not sure if they have different dev teams, but Ambition always seemed to be experimenting and pushing new ideas forward. Haven't really sat down and played one since Iron Triangle though, so I'll have to pick this one up if I ever get the chance.
Man the game seems so nice, i was waiting for this since iron triangle and your review made me love it more and eager to put my hands on it. sub+

Thank you so much for this review video!
+mag287100 You're very welcome, thank you for watching!
You did great with the pronunciation of the Japanese clans and great review as well. Keep it up!
Thank you for this descriptive video. Game is hard to pick up and play.
Thanks for the info on this strategy game - it does look like it would be a good match against the total war series...
Hey man thanks for the info about game.I love Oda Nobunaga i personally played every game that was going around him.Oda Nobunaga is one of best daimyo and first to unite 1/3 of japan
I just love his history :)
+leonardo puhanić I have a framed traditional painting of him on my wall :) He was ruthless, but was a force to be reckon with and I respect that.
Star is Innovation btw

Very interesting video, and looks like a great game (albeit perhaps a bit... deep in options, i'd probably get some serious helmet fire trying to play it)

very detailed review loved it very much. looks like Kessen 2 went a long way since the playstation 2 hehe
Best review of this game that I have seen
I'm having a lot of fun so far, though one problem I'm finding is the mid to late game. I have a lot of fun playing as a small clan and expanding outwards, but by the time I'm a major power, and am strong enough to fight the other big clans, I get bored with it, because it just seems like it'll take a lot of time.
Finally some strategy game, good times to have a break from RPG and FPS genre.
I saw this game at the store and was like lol without even looking at it, but I might buy it now that I've seen this video
excellent review and this looks like an interesting title for sure.
40min later and id still have a million questions before I bought it
hey you can go to battle of sekigahira (I think) and experience a coalition since the 2 turn
why when I enter a castle my troops disappear and so are my muskets and horses please help
what do you mean created officers are only playable in one scenario? you can make a new clan with your created officers in any scenario..
thanks this was useful, was the top google result and i think it has made me lean toward buying the game.
Why do I lose soldiers after entering a castle? I fielded an army of about 5000 people. conquered an enemy castle, and moved them in, but there is no change of the amount of soldiers in that newly acquired castle.
+Wiratama They return back to their castle automatically and resupply I believe.
Tyler Valle Not sure if that's what happened the last time because I didn't check the originating castle. Will try doing that later.
Great game, loving it so far, really has a Rotk 10 feel to it which is good cuz it was my favorite one. But quick question, whenever I try and move an officer with troops and make him enter a city why do all the troops he had with him disappear?
+Michael Q second this. I have that problem too.
+Michael Q I cried so much :( someone please explains this
Wiratama Blue Domino Just tested it, the troops replenish the troop count at THEIR home base, not the one they are put into.
So the army disbands themselves and return home. Clearly that koei has done their homework about history well enough to add such little detail like this in game. This is not a bug at all.
Thanks for this video, it was a good overview and explanation
Good video. The game looks good.
Nice video....you earned a subscribe for laying down the facts ^_^
Your voice sounds fine man, if you have a speech impediment with your tongue or whatever I wouldn't worry about it. Just tell the internet bullies to shove it, I think you sound fine. Thanks for the video.
So what's character creation like?
Can I also play in an ahistorical setting just play for fun and for example conquer Japan as the Takeda?
If u cant say cavalry u can say cav or horseman right? Its no big deal.
Sounds like a great game and I hope it sells well.
Best game I ever bought 10\10.
Anyone able to rate the strategy element of this game as compared to shogun 2 total war (overall with combat and progression, building, economy, etc.)?
super late but check out The Shogunate’s review
how do you build a shipyard?
Anyone knows if the game runs smoothly on the regular Surface 3?
Just a tiny comment at around 13:30 you start talking about the Imperial Court...
For some reason though you start mentioning the Shogun, but that's incorrect, of course, you're not asking anything from the Shogun, the Imperial Court is for the.... Emperor.

Why cant they do a Dynasty Warriors version? Would love it!
+Bingleydj they do.. it's called romance of the three kingdoms....

is it with real-time or can you fast forward?
Could you help me to guide as sanada clan on battle sekigahara scenario
Extreme difficulty
A horror one i guess..
does it play like CK2?
The demon-king of the Seventh Heaven!
is this game still heavily officer centered? is it still impossible to develop your officers?
OK, need to know, is this the same thing as version 14 i keep seeing? and is this a MMORPG for PC also? or is this single player?
+Ron Hughes (reh3d) Pretty sure it is NOT a MMORPG. I haven't heard anything about "massive" numbers of people being able to play it at the same time. In fact, I'm pretty sure it has NO multiplayer at all. ;)
I wonder what TAshi will be like late 2017.
If you have played a kessen, Romance of the three kingdoms game or any past Nobunaga game. You are without a doubt going to love this game. +Shavez Lee Dynasty Warriors 8 is the best one after 3 and 5. Just because not a whole lot changes every game doesn't make them bad.
+Shavez Lee I loved CK2 and EU4 and not liking this game too much right now but I just bought it today.
+Jim Robles hahaha, spend hours just for checking every castle, maintain your fame and get rich, lol
+Nergal134 WTF? DW8 is the WORST!
you are like me when i'm trying to explain some terms the person to me dont know with something like real life words. Nice job. For example dota 2. is this gameplay from ps4 or ps3 of pc I want to know plz
+bluediamondwarriors5 PlayStation 4. How do I know that? "Press the Options" button. Both PlayStation 3 and PC lack any such button. :)
+bluediamondwarriors5 Also, just a heads-up, this game is originally a PC game and was developed for PC first, and then ported to consoles. For those worried about KT's porting history, you can rest easy on this one.
+Remy L im glad plus I saw that we can make 1000 people but only can use 300 right on the ps4 I hope its the same thing on the ps3
+DeeeFoo im glad for the game nonetheless I grew up playing games like this Its the only thing I have that I can beat my brothers at is strategy games
Hey man , im just couple hours into the game still cant get how facilities work. Somehow commons/fairs/fountains/landmarks appear and i can build something. But the diplomacy take like 19 months for only 5 point increase, is it worth it?

hey i add u yea? :)
Is this like the first Kessen on PS1?
+Dalek Hybrid it's similar yes
Guys, Try Sengoku Rance haha, its pretty much like this but with a little extra :)
+jonsnowasoiaf Sengoku Rance is a hilarious game.
+Tyler Valle We need to get daiteikoku translated.
jonsnowasoiaf its that the blue waffle DLC
anyone saw nobunaga concerto?
38:50 LOL, those opportunistic bast*rds xD
+Blahto Blahtoto Don't worry, I bought it back and after two days of fighting, I took all their territory and wiped them out. Executed both their clan heads too.
Sooo it has no multiplayer???
+Strash Nope, sorry.
I can't believe this hasn't been ported over to tablet, I would love to play this on my ZenPad 3s...
I still miss KESSEN
What breed is your dog?
+Boobie McGee She's a Pitbull mix. the dog you can hear in the background is my Roommate's dog who's a Jack Russel mixed with Chihuahua
Must be very hard without a mouse.
+Tetrix0 it was a first, but it feels very natural after a while.
shud i buy...or shud i not...shud i buy..shud i not.....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Is the game on steam?
Yes it is :)
And this crap costs 50$ on ps store
I'm pretty sure they recycled faces from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms series
RoTK is Chinese while Nobunaga's Ambition is Japanese. How can they use the same faces? Ridiculous.
I like turtles
So THAT'S how you pronounce your last name...
+Kain Yusanagi Maybe the starburst is something like honor?
+Kain Yusanagi I think its more like prestige unless im mistaken
Which means that Tyler's lost quite a bit compared to Nobuhide in his trial game where he was showing us the mechanics. ;P
It think it is innovation
Makes a big deal about people making a big deal about a minor thing. Who really should stay classy?
steam or ps4?
You can get it on Steam. I'm thinking of getting it. If its for the Xbox 360 or Xbox One I might get it for those.
+79walkermason Steam, Ps3, and PS4
+Tyler Valle Yeah found out about it yesterday but thank you anyways! ^_^
Sorry for the late reply!
+Tyler Valle Haha its alright, cant always be on time
Well, you pissed a wrong guys in the end of the video xD 9000 troops marching your way xD I hope you still are in the land of the living xD
Is that voice ...Nicolas cage??
So i just realized something i'm guessing female officers you create can't marry since that involves maidens and those are not guys......
+Thalmor Justiciar Yeah, if you turn females into officers instead of maidens, they can no longer marry even though the text of the game in the action menu refers to them as women.
Is it me or i see Dynasty Warriors influence in this game.
Dynasty warriors was actually originally a spin off of the romance of the three kingdoms games if i remember correctly. This is made by the same developer as those games and the dynasty warriors ones. So yes. Lots of that influence.
+Promethor same company that makes Dynasty warriror Koei
vn01208503 I knew these game where related somehow! The menu style, the art and character design, even the text police seems similar. Thanks for the info :)
+Promethor Actually nobunaga's ambition is basically 14 years older than dynasty warriors =)
Haziq Deen oh yeah i remember seeing it in ps1
Too bad it comes out 1. September, just like Metal Gear Solid 5.
Dont worry bout those nit pickin wankers....
Seems the game is pretty cool... I am downloading now...
Looks kinda Interesting to me.. Thx 4 all the info..
Everyone who does a play through plays as Oda! Pick something original
29000 view :D I never get to be round numbers lol
lol 18:34 i'd do the same thing
Didn't buy this game just not as good as kessen
Una mierd. De. Juego menos mal q no lo compre
love the women in this game
You can't pronounce cavalry? Clearly that invalidates your opinion! *shudders with nerdgasm*
...and you cant spell calvary.
..and you don't know the difference between calvary and cavalry. Moron.
+Earnest Williams (Geofferic) It was a joke dipshit.
