As a young Christian, I once went to my local Catholic church and asked the priest directly what I needed to do to be saved. His answer was to join the (Roman) Catholic church and to live a good life. As I talked with him it became apparent that he had no idea what was required for salvation; his whole doctrine came down to a list of dos and don’ts and a whole lot of hope.
Church have been established upon the Rock. Where is that Church that stand still on the Rock???
Is that church collapsed??
Yes every Christian have different perspectives of the Bible but yet same principles. Hence, Catholic or Protestant or any Christian are doing for the right things for the spreading of gospels of Christ. But the only things what when wrong is that they reject what Jesus said in Matthew 16:19 and 18:18 “what ever you lose on earth I will lose in heaven and what ever you bind on earth I will bind in heaven” and they also reject “Matthew 16:19“Given the keys of heaven” specifically mentioned to Peter only which he who have answered that Jesus is son of God, not anyone else because others have answered wrong by saying Jesus is John the baptise or Elias so on. But only Peter got the right answer and Jesus satisfied his answer and he give a gift of keys of heaven and become a Rock and shepherd like him (John 21:16).
I asked the same thing, he just told me if I get baptized go to confession and dont sin 🤦🏽♂️ never once mentioned Christ and the Gospel
1 priest is not a significant enough reason to reject the church Christ established for you
@@NanoverseProductionsGreek word for church is ekklesia meaning the called out ones. That's the church Christ established. Not a religio political institution called RCC.
Wow, this was a textbook conversation with a Roman Catholic. You gave this guy a lot to think and pray about. God bless you and your ministry.
@@sebastiankaczmarek635 Protestants do believe we have the complete version of the Bible. The Apocrypha was always debated and considered less than the rest of the Scriptures. They are not Hebrew texts, so outside the period of the Old Testament writings. Still incredibly useful but not considered inspired or suitable for doctrine. It was only during the Reformation at the Councel of Trent when the Apocrypha was officially considered fully canon for Roman Catholics. You might not like that answer but there it is.
Martin Luther didn't have the final word on what the Bible had either, he was challenged by other Reformers when he tried to remove James for example. Luther isn't our Pope, while he did a lot of good for the Reformation, he wasn't infallible.
Can you re-explain your last question? I do not understand what you're getting at. We are saved by grace at belief in Christ's complete work, and then there is a santification process throughout our lives as believers, but this working out is in response to God's free grace. We don't do works to earn his grace. That work for savlation is already complete.
@@sebastiankaczmarek635I can only answer first question that the Bible isn’t incomplete and there’s tons of manuscripts to prove that nothing has been changed. Martin Luther is not the only person also there’s 40 sum different authors. Gods isn’t boxed in culture or tradition he’s God. If God wants nun to perish and his gospel is shared in various ways so everyone is a witness on judgement the kid living in far away island receiving good news will be saved not because of a building. Denominations is separation. Unity following Jesus Christ is what God wants.
@@sebastiankaczmarek635 The oldest Old Testament canon was written down in 170 AD by Melito of Sardis, which did not contain the Apocrypha, and additionally none of the Apocrypha were written down any any regonized prothets of God, and again were not written in the same language as the Old Testament Scriptures.
And the Roman Catholic Church is not as unified as it makes out. There was always theological debate and nuance throughout history. You have the Orthodox split long before Protestantism, and you also have Old Catholics more recently. Many Roman Catholics are not happy with the current Pope today, and what would you do if he made a "infallible" claim that completely changed the nature of the gospel understood today (in RC terms)? If he made a claim that for 2000 years was not accepted by believers? Would you follow him blindly?
@@sebastiankaczmarek635 Yep and those with variying degrees of recognition within the Early Church means they should not be instantly accepted as they weren't then either. I still think reading the Apocrypha can be useful historically, but not for doctrinal teaching in the Church.
You didn't answer my other question. What would you do if the current Pope radically changed Biblical doctrine as understood in the RCC today?
@@sebastiankaczmarek635 You have avoided my last question a few times now.

As highschool student i studied in a catholic school. I did not feel i was close God even if we repeatedly pray and go to church i feel so distant. I have a picture of Jesus and i pray infront of that but it just doesnt make sense, those picture and statues why do wee need to pray infront of them when God is everywhere. In repenting our sins we tell it to the priest and then the priest tell us to pray the our father repeatedly. Every after we say our prayers to God we always call the saints and mary to pray for us, that doesnt make sense that whay i feel so distant to God
When i entered in a small church they make us read our bible ourselves and there i have known the truth.
John 20:23
I am torn by your experience and I pray for you to learn of the profundity of the Church you were brought up in. Fortunately, love for the Bible is especially Catholic. Every prayer essential to the Mass is from the Bible, we have a whole portion in the Mass called the Liturgy of the Word where we read from the Bible, we also have Bible studies and Biblical prayer like Lectio Divina and Ignatian Contemplation. I pray that as you read God's words you will come to know his deep love for you and how all these experiences have not been wasted by God at all. Everything in life is a gift to us by our most loving God. May the sacrifice of Jesus at the Altar help you return to him in the Eucharist. God bless you, may he keep you and your family safe. Amen.
you cant base your faith on feelings and on how you feel, you have to base your beliefs on the truth. Check out church history and you will see the orthodox church being the church instituted by Jesus
@@RayBooM_ It is true it cannot be solely based on feelings but to deny feelings as an intentional gift from God for us to perceive and know of his presence is also not the way to understand the faith. Hope that your heart grows to become convicted of the love that God reveals to us in his Son as much as your mind can understand about the Church so that we may together be one with him and in him one with the Father. God bless you:)
Thank u much brother in Christ. But im not going back to calling the names of those saints again to hear my prayers or bending my knee to those man made statues . Jesus my Lord God and savior is enough for me
Thank you for this teaching. My family is Roman Catholic. I find it difficult at times to talk about how we are saved by grace through faith. I get push back from them. Your talk and kindness has helped me. Your knowledge of scripture amazes me. Again thank you.

Catholic didn't teach you about salvation. They teach invented doctrine like Rosary,Limbo, purgatory etc..etc..which you can't read in the bible.
They practice worship a creature more than the creator..Romans 1:25
The word Pope was invented only 500 AD..and Peter is not the first pope because he live in 1 Century, that a lie.

wow.. this got me teary eyed. I wish my dad would watch this. I was a roman catholic myself saved by His amazing grace!
I really appreciate how patient you are and how well you know God's word.
He actually made many mistakes and even made an argument that the Old Testament is more authoritative than the New Testament without even realizing it. Not only that but are multiple verses that go against the belief of eternal security that he was making in this video; the claim that you can know you are saved. Throughout the New Testament there are verses that state that one does not know and that presuming to know is wrong.
God bless you! God has helped me understand his grace more through you!

"Faith in Christ" is tested, and salvation does need to be worked out if we live after trusting in Christ for our eternal salvation. "Faith without works is dead." This young man needed to know this, but great conversation and Gospel truth covered. Love your videos 💜✝️
I hope he changes his mind about becoming a priest after this conversation. Praying God opens his eyes ❤🙏
Why would you pray for him NOT to become a priest? That makes no sense. If God called him who are you to pray against Gods will?
I’m still on the fence about being catholic. This is helping me understand. Thank you. I grew up Protestant as a kid, but stopped going to church as a teenager. After my wife’s miscarriage, Jesus brought me back to my Faith. Now I’m curious which Church to raise my family in now. I have a daughter on the way.
Congratulations on your new baby… I would say that you’d want to find a church that preaches that God, Jesus and Holy Spirit are one , and that God sent His son to come into history, live a perfect life, and died on the cross for our sins, then rose again after 3 days. Christ paid 100% of the price , no work is needed for salvation by us… only believe in His work of grace. Anything you do is just to show His love to others… nothing you can do to win salvation. Listen to Ryan about how you go to heaven at around 40.00 mark and beyond… find a church that preaches that … God bless you

I would say join the Roman Catholic Church because they have way more of the fullness of the truth (i am still discerning aswell and not part of anything yet), these protestants are just quote mining against the Catholics and it's painful to watch even as a outsider like myself, they don't understand what the Catholics mean with salvation by grace **(See James 2:22-24: 22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? 23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God. 24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.")** they believe that genuine faith automatically results in works and repentance.
Check out Trent Horn a real Catholic apologist. Watch some of his debates or look at his podcast Counsel of Trent. While I think the Catholic student here is doing his best, he’s not an equal opponent in this discussion. His knowledge of the faith is decent, but not terrible strong.
Its easy just search for the church that published the bible and chose its content

@@user-xd7sg5bf9t none of what you said is supported by the Bible. Jesus didn't offer heaven as a gift - He offered SALVATION, that' what the Bible tells us. Those who have faith - will follow Him, as a result of it. Whenever you say - "faith is not enough" - you contradict a massive amount of Scripture. Even just look at Ephesians 2.8-9. It's not of our own doing, so that no one may boast. If you go to heaven BECAUSE you do something. You are saying that Christ's sacrifice is not enough and it's your deeds are adding to your salvation, which then means than you can boast in it - because you did something in order to get into heaven.
That means that there a person(say Bob) who believed in Jesus, but didn't follow Him perfectly, or failed let's say 75% of times, and there this other person(Billy) who also believed in Christ, but followed Jesus better than Bob, say he failed 60% of the times. And now let's say Billy goes to heaven and Bob doesn't. Why is that? well that's because of their works. Which means literally Billy can boast in that. Why - well because he did better than Bob, although they both believed in Christ.
So that contradicts the Scripture, because God's word literally says - no one can boast, it's not of your own doing...
Saw this guy on shorts. Subscribed. Like the longer videos. Like that this guy has the internet to amplify his reach, to share his thoughts and understanding.
Love God. Trust God. Always.
If he called in it's because he has doubt about the teachings of the Catholic church. The Pharisees also believed in "tradition" and because they focused so much on the semantics of it and not the meaning, they couldn't believe God even when they saw him.
True. That's so heartbreaking.
The pharisees believed more in the written word than in god. They were the sola scriptura followers of their time. Today we call them protestants.
This was very good to listen to. I was raised a Catholic and by the grace of God most of my family left the Catholic church and just became believers in Christ and His salvation.
But you didnt leave completely did you. You still use our text, the Bible, correct. I hope so…
History shows us that Jesus didn't leave us a bible, - the apostles didn't tell us which books belong in the bible, - the church fathers never agreed on the 27 books of the NT through the 4th century, - not only did they not agree but their individual lists of would-be NT canons were GROWING during this time, growing in numbers of hundreds of “inspired” NT writings.
Therefore, if it wasn't the Catholic/Orthodox church that compiled the 27 books of the NT in the 5th century with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and preserved it by laboriously hand copying them over and over throughout the centuries before the invention of the printing press, the “rule of faith” for many, please tell us who did? And if this church no longer exists today, what good is the text which came forth from her if she couldn't sustain herself?

Why do put your trust into this guy, going against 2000 years of theology? Against men who studied the scriptures their entire lives? Leave them alone, and follow their example at least in the sense that you go to an apostolic Church
You just need to get them to read the Bible, the grandmother of my grandma became Christian by reading the Bible, no need to magic or anything. The Holy Spirit used the pure text to guide her, it's like in John 10:22-30, in verbis:
"22 Then came the Festival of Dedication at Jerusalem. It was winter, 23 and Jesus was in the temple courts walking in Solomon’s Colonnade. 24 The Jews who were there gathered around him, saying, “How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.”
25 Jesus answered, “I did tell you, but you do not believe. The works I do in my Father’s name testify about me, 26 but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”
We heard the voice of our LORD, let's rejoice and the free gift that is salvation and follow him.
Ryan you are filled with the Holy Spirit Brother. Keep planting those seeds for God 🙏
I've learned a lot from this.
You should hear what Sam says about faith, works, heaven would love to see the conversation between Ryan and Sam
God is saying that the death of Christ is a gift .... meaning if you think works will earn you to heaven you are saying to God I don't need you to get to heaven and I'll do it on my own. You do the works not to earn your way to heaven but because you love God!
But if you don’t do anything, do you really love God?
Catholics don't believe in salvation through works either, but you know someone's faith is genuine by their works. You still have to make some sort of a leap of faith, that in and of itself is an action that needs to be taken.
Amen. Well said.
I am a former Catholic. What a great conversation that is a great reminder and applicable to being ready to defend the Faith (1 Peter 3:15). The best defense against spotting a fake is by being super familiar with the real deal.
He does a great job of making a point and making him sit in it and recognize it before moving on.
Regarding the Eucharist - The Jews celebrated Passover in remembrance of how God rescued His people. Jesus is our new Passover (1 Cor 5:7) so Communion is our Passover remembering how God once again rescued His people.
I would ask this man what does the Bible say is the prerequisite for becoming a pastor/priest/elder/overseer - must be married and have children.
When he brings up tradition I would offer that Jehovahs witnesses and Mormons say they believe in their traditions. So the question to ask is what specific traditions and when were these traditions established.
He brought up great Scripture about Jesus condemning traditions of men.
At 47:11 - great references to actual tradition teaching against the RC a view of Communion.
If you actually look at the Greek word for when Jesus said 'do this in remembrance of me', it is actually more accurately translated as 'representation'. The Passover celebration wasn't just a remembrance of God rescuing them, but they believed they were there at the parting of the Red Sea, being rescued from Egypt, and wandering through the desert with their ancestors. So your argument against the Eucharist is void, as the Eucharist isn't a remembrance, but a representation of Christ's sacrifice on the Cross and is His body, as Jesus said.
@@GamingxKnight Appreciate the dialogue here and glad you're thinking this through! I actually don't think our understanding of Passover differs. At a very high level - Both Passover & Easter celebrate how God saved His people from death. In Exodus, the blood of a spotless lamb was required for death to pass over the Israelites. Christ was that spotless lamb whose blood allows death to pass over us. I think we're saying the same thing - God rescued His people through the blood of a spotless lamb. Again, 1 Cor 5:7 - "For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed." When Christ said to do it in remembrance - looking at the Greek - it literally means, in memory, recalling, remembering. He meant it at face value, just as God has commanded His people to never forget all He has done - whether the Feast of Weeks, the Feast of Booths. Even in the other events like the stones in Joshua 4:21-24. Judges 2:10-12 reminds us that it only takes one generation to forget what our Lord has done for us.
To take it literally and claim it becomes His physical body, as Catholics do - you're going to have problem with Christ's words when he said things like "take up your cross daily," "die to yourself," "pluck out your eye if it causes you to sin," and I doubt he turns to wood when he says He "is the door." Jesus had to correct Nicodemus when he was told to be born again.
Beautiful conversation
Would love for you to have more conversations with Catholics like this. This is awesome what you are doing. Spreading the true gospel, Ryan. God bless you brother.
I truly hope and aspire to develope an intimate knowledge of the scriptures like you Ryan. I always was blown away by the idea of the Papalcy being taken so far when it isn't in scripture. The verse (Matthew 16:18) commonly used is Jesus talking to Peter, saying "On this rock i will build my church" but thats the only part of the chapter (it seems) they look at for that comment. (Just a random brother in the faiths opinion/interpretation) It, to me, seems to be a joyous expression of Jesus acknowledging the revelation from Peter for having it revealed to him by God that Jesus is the Christ and on that revelation he will build the church. That he will build his church on The Christ through Gods revelation of himself.
The papalcy being taken to this extent of a lineage back to peter because of this statement from Jesus, is scary to me the slippery slope of man taking the doctrine to an extreme. (probably more to it than that but this sticks out to me at the moment when making my point)
I truly find it scary that the catholic and some protestant churchs hold the building/leaders/pope/doctrine/and specific church affiliation to such a high place. That someone showing basic doctrine/beliefs/quotes of scripture doesnt seem to want to let go of their initial biases/what school or priests have spoken. Even when it directly contradicts the scripture and Jesus's words. Only to pull one verse completly out of context of the writing itself but only to fit the doctrine they want to profess. (Either literal or figurative based on the ideology)
Also the belief of physical rituals/expressions of faith (communion, baptism) as a requirement for salvation seems to want to invalidate one of the more powerful salvations in the bible. (in my opinion) The good thief on the cross, looks Jesus in the face acknowledged he was the son of God who suffers for no sin, asks to only be remembered in his kingdom after his death, and Jesus gives him the most amazing news "today, you will be with me in paradise". So powerful.....
I apologize for the lengthy comment.
God bless you and your demeanor in all your talks.
Don't apologize! You were spot on! These people are so blind, I pray for them always. I never did understand how anyone could see the words of God before them and blatantly ignore and dismiss them! That says a lot! Keep telling the truth! All glory be to God!
This was incredible.... you are the example i want to be when it comes to apologetics and witnessing to idolators.
We are not idolators
@@AD-sx7ix If you pray to mary and the dead, if you believe mary is a mediator for you, then you are in fact an idolator. Repent.
@@jacksprrow What do you mean by the word “pray”? All we ask of her is to intercede for us, that’s what we mean by the word “pray”. It’s using the old English sense of the term which just means “to ask”. With this sense of the term, I “pray” to you, Jack, that you may pray on my behalf before God.
With praying for other people on their behalf, one recognizes the obvious distinction between the mediatorship that is unique to Christ alone per 1 Timothy 2:5 (which Mary does not have), and a mediatorship that is common to all of the Christian faithful whenever we pray for people (which all of us have, including Mary). After all, 1 Timothy 1:1 commands us to pray for others, correct? Therefore, in a distinct way we are all mediators with Mary, but not in the way that Christ is.
Maybe if you ask Catholics to define their terms and actually understand the Catholic position, you wouldn’t bear false witness and call us “idolators”. It takes a 5 second google search to understand what Catholics mean when we say we “pray” to Mary. It’s in perfect conjunction with Scripture. This is why THE OLDEST Christian prayer that we have discovered is a prayer to Mary (~300A.D.). The early Christians weren’t wrong on that, and neither are we
@@jacksprrow Also, by the very fact that Mary is in heaven, she IS NOT dead. Rather she is fully alive in Christ. The Easter event destroys death for those who believe.
@@AD-sx7ix has nothing to do with your idolatry of praying to mary/those who are dead, whether they are in heaven or not.
Pointing out that the early church fathers have disagreements makes the Catholic view more believable. Coz now we have thousands of denominations because of the reformation. How do we reconcile "bible as the ultimate authority" when every sects literally claim they have the truth.

[1] What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? [2] For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. [3] For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. [4] Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. [5] But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
[1] Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who's right, if not the Word of God
Hi brother! I have a quick question: You mentioned around 25:50 that Jesus had to follow the Old Testament law perfectly in order to fulfill it and be sinless, but I always thought that He went against the law when he performed miracles on the Sabbath. Were the Pharisees's allegations against Him invalid?
it was against their traditions but not against scripture
There is no Scripture for miracles on the Sabbath. There provision to help people on the Sabbath, as in the case of pulling oxen/livestock trapped in a pit on the Sabbath
That's why Jesus calls the Pharisees hypicrites
@@captainkrajick thank you!
In deuteronamy when it bans reaping on the sabbath it was only if it was to gain money (work could not be done) but it I was hungry than eating it was fine and it was not stealing as the law allowed for people to take a little food.
I feel like people forget that when they say Mary can hear their prayers too they have to admit that they're calling her omniscient. Which then puts her on the same level as God. How else would she be able to hear and process millions of prayers every single day? This is only something God can do.
Why would you put limits on the perfect saints in heaven? They are not limited like we are. Jesus promises life "more abundantly." Perfect spiritual union with God in heaven grants us spiritual gifts we can't comprehend on earth.
Also, I don't think heaven is limited by time as well.
Sounds like you’re just putting limits on what God can make happen
@@sterlingstafford2671Precisely. They’re thinking from a perspective in which a continual and normative flow of time is present. That isn’t how heaven works.
@@unoriginalclips9923 there's a difference between putting "limits" on what God can do, and literally inventing nonsense that isn't supported by the Bible and contradicts several passages.

He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction. Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the LAWLESS and fall from your secure position. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen. (2 Peter 3:15-18)
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing
This is such a blessing to hear worked through.
An interesting bit of scripture when Catholics like this young man bring up Peter being given the keys to the kingdom. Jesus didn't give Peter those keys in Matthew 16. Jesus says "I will give you the keys..." meaning Jesus would give them at a later time. Now, read John 20:22. After the resurrection Jesus breathed the Holy Spirit onto many of the disciples at the same time and gave them loosing/binding power.
Sola Scriptura isn't about not receiving teaching from elders or pastors. We certainly do. It is just that the word of God take primacy over the teachings of man. So, like the Bereans, we are to test the teachings and traditions of men against what the holy scriptures say. I hope this young man humbles himself in the sight of God and really digs into scripture on his own. Use that big brain to learn, not just parrot the teachings in the Magisterium. God bless. We are to memorize the word of God foremost - not the chapters and lines of the catechism. Joshua 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

the thing most people don't get is that you don't have to understand the bible you just have to accept it because it's the word of God
The problem with this is that other knowledgeable people can take advantage of you. Thats why you need to read it yourself and see if what someone else is preaching IS the Word of God.
This is exactly how a conversation with a Catholic goes especially when they say they prefer to go with traditionan over the Word Of God. Its sad, we need to pray for them to have eyes to see and receive the Holy Spirit.
Well when you throw out the tradition you get a bunch of unhistorical doctrines like Sola Scriptura and Sola Fide that come from personal interpretation alone
@@unoriginalclips9923they come from different places in the Bible. They were not called that, but they were talked about. We have the doctrine of the Trinity and that word is not in the Bible. Eucharistic is not in the Bible. Bible is not in the Bible. We are warned about tradition being more important than God's word. We are told not to add to or take away from. We must be careful how we do that.
Your first mistake is thinking that those traditions contradict the Word.
@loganleroy8622 traditions were what got the religious leaders in trouble in Jesus times. Are those traditions biblical? Are they made into doctrines? Did Jesus say anything about them. Does the Bible say anything about them? Are you making them a condition of salvation? Traditions are dangerous.
@@TexasGrandma2010 No, upholding traditions to the point of ignoring the underlying reasons that those traditions exist is what got the Pharisees into trouble. Because all of the Catholic traditions are biblically founded.

The road is narrow. Roman Catholicism will continue to spread as it appeals to those who want credit for their works. Many of these people will unfortunately die and wish to show God their works and ask to be judged by their works rather than to be judged by the righteousness of Christ that they wear in Faith. (Matt 7:21-23; Isaiah 61:10; Romans 10:1-11).
Sincerely, to those who cling to works and not to Christ alone, our ONLY high priest (Hebrews 4:14-16), you may hear the words “depart from me, I never knew you”-even if you’ve done miracles in His name!
Have confidence in Christ’s work alone:
“Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are-yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

I'm a Catholic and though I am glad to see a fellow searcher of the truth and willing to have discourse with others I would like to bring up a few points from the first part of the video. As I don't doubt the trustworthiness of the seminarian, I would question how Indepth his theological studies are. Though I'm sure he's preoccupied with how to conduct the mass.
1. Having read the Councils of Nicaea in 325 & 787 AD. Ryan here states a false claim, nowhere in the documents does it state that a bishop has no say over another's decision. It does however prevent them from living exuberant lives, living with women, and that a bishop can only be ordained by other bishops.
2. From the time of ST. Peter's death in 67 AD. there had been 32 Popes who took the office up until the first Nicaean council. And the fact that have contact with others in the ancient world was very difficult and at the early centuries Christians were persecuted, having a "helicopter parent" as what some might see the pope in today's world would not have been possible at that time.
3. Act 17:11, when Paul calls the Bereans more noble than the Thessalonians, he was referring to the fact that the Bereans didn't chase him out and were willing to hear what he had to say. Not solely that they would look back at the scriptures, the gospels weren't published yet, and anyone could have said of a false account that corroborated with the Old Testament prophesies of the messiah. They were more noble simply because they were, with open hearts, willing to hear what Paul had to say.
4. A common belief is that the writers of scripture were puppeted and had no personalization when writing. The authors were co-authors and were led by the Holy Spirit to wright but were able to personalize them. Otherwise, for example, the Gospels wouldn't have those small minute detail differences. Such as having a different number of individuals healed at a given town.
5. God would of course set up a bases of authority given by him for his church to build upon, starting with St. Peter. If this wasn't true, we wouldn't have a straight line of Papal succession after Peter, the councils wouldn't have had to accrue to discuss heresy and guidelines for her clergy, or even Jesus sending his apostles out to preach. there have always been hierarchy within the church Jesus even followed the Mosaic Law.
6. With regards to souls who have not heard the gospel. The Catholic teaching is that an individual could merit "Salvation Through Extraordinary Means" even if not ever learning of Christianity but will be judged on the Natural Law which is different to us as we will be judged harsher since we know better.
7. Where Ryan says he doesn't require a "man" to teach him what to believe in. I ask then how you have learned anything if not from another? We all needed someone to help instruct us the scripture and other matters of Christianity. If this was the case, why have preachers? If they aren't teaching, it only becomes an echo chamber and meaningless. Deeper developments and understanding through studying scripture and traditions will always be required. ST. John even says that not everything could fit in this book. So, we must rely on those who have studied and have the authority to present those teachings. Otherwise, we'll end up with more division and heretical beliefs as we've seen in the past. Which is what the councils were for.
8. Later developments in doctrine do not render them void. Electricity wasn't fully understood in the beginning but later studying lead to further developments which are held as true. Just because we take time to define something doesn't mean the essence wasn't always there.
9. Mary's perpetual Virginity has always been believed by the early church and on. The passage in Mark 6:3, (If this is the passage Ryan is referencing) the term brother in the original Greek is "Adelphos" which was a much broader term which could mean blood relative but could also refer to a cousin and even a spiritual brother. But nowhere in scripture are the supposed siblings of Jesus ever described as the children of Mary the mother of Jesus. Just because Mary was born without sin doesn't mean she didn't need a savior she herself calls God her savior in John1:47.
I would like to say again I really do appreciate when others are willing to defend the Faith, but always remember to have a humble skepticism
and learn what the authoritative teachings say, as i don't doubt Ryan's sincerity, I do respectfully doubt his sources.
Stop worshipping Mary, dude give your life to christ

Imagine all of the stuff you haven't even touched yet!
The logical fallacy that many Catholics fall for is the Appeal to Authority Fallacy. After being shown scriptures that contradict what the CC teaches, they fall back to "I'd rather trust the Church", "I'd rather trust 2000 years of church history", etc. This can also be used against us for appealing to the authority of the Bible over anything else, however, the Bible is God breathed, inspired holy scriptures, not just mere words written by fallible men. The only authority that I appeal to is God, and God inspired the Bible, not the CC.
Always remember that the true early church is written and described in the Bible, the Catholic's "early church" and "early church fathers" came after the Bible was already written. If a tradition is not described in the Bible, then that means that man created that tradition, not God. I will always trust what God says over what man says.

@@noahf649 This idea that, “No wrong act or sinful deed can ever affect the believer’s salvation. Regarding the issue of whether Christians have an “absolute” assurance of salvation, regardless of their actions, consider this warning Paul gave: “See then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God’s kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness; otherwise you too will be cut off” (Rom. 11:22; see also Heb. 10:26-29, 2 Pet. 2:20-21).
