  • There are many ways to align images and text to perfect your compositions in InDesign and probably one of the best ways is to use grids.

There are two type of grids: Document Grid and Baseline Grid. In this tutorial I will walk you through everything you need to know about them from setting them up to customising them. Let's get started!

So, I understand how, in InDesign, to create grids. And let's say that we have a pretty flexible grid with 12 columns and 12 rows. What if the aspect ratio for an image that we want to place does not fit nicely into one of the grid's "modules" or "cells" or a combination of these "cells?"
I understand we can create a frame first and place into the frame and fit the best we can, but what if we don't want any of it cropped?

Or vice versa, maybe the frame will fit, but then we have to go into the frame & scale down the content on the inside to show all of it and then it's way too small to see/read?
This is what's really tripping me up. Thanks!!
