How to Use Buttons in InDesign?

If you ever tried adding interactivity to your InDesign documents you most likely played around with buttons.

They are fairly simple features, but to make the most of them you have to dig deeper. Buttons and other interactive features of InDesign like the Multi-state Objects can be very powerful if you know how to use them in combination. In this tutorial I'm going to walk you through a well designed interactive composition where you can toggle text frames by clicking on images. Let's get started!

Great tutorial and tried it, but when you save it to an interactive pdf it doesn't work as well. Any suggestions please?

I'm working on making buttons and slideshows for an eBook but whenever I go to Window > Interactive > EPUB Interactivity Preview, the interactivity doesn't work. If I got to SWF Preview, the interactivity works. Does anyone know why this is? Is the EPUB Interactivity Preview the same and the SWF Preview? I really enjoyed this video, by the way!

be aware theses settings do not work on a PDF export... NOT SUPPORTED BY PDF!

How do you save it so that the interaction appears in your pdf and when others see you document?

Export the file to a "PDF (Interactive)".
That will do it.

Indesign should export interactive creations in other formats...flash is already obsolete....
