You did a great job explaining how OLED works in a simplified way. I'll have to link this video when introducing people to what OLEDs are. Great video!
I just purchased this monitor Open Box Excellent from Best Buy and it's been a great purchase so far. I haven't tapped into many of the settings but I'm already blown away by the few tweaks that I've done.
@@alanaeichsteadt fellow QD OLED Brethren! How's the experience so far? My display was packed up like it was new so hopefully it was just an unused return. I actually just added a 4 yr protection plan for $89.
This is the review I needed. I also have a 34inch VA monitor and Ive been contemplating if I should upgrade to this Alienware Oled monitor. Wasnt sure if its really worth the upgrade or not bc my VA is 1440p and still good. Ive never tried an Oled monitor so this review helped me make up my mind.
So I went back to VA for a video I’m shooting and if OLED is 10/10 the va was a 8. OLED is def an upgrade that’s hard to switch back from but don’t under estimate how good your VA panel probably is
This is a beautiful monitor im just wondering if 165hz is enough because my 4080 super could do 240fps in cod and fortnite so i was also looking at 240hz lg ultrawide oled but it doesnt have as good of picture quality
ive had a 240hz oled, a 165hz oled, and a 144hz oled. the same with non-oleds too. Personally, i havent been able to notice much past 165hz in all of the monitors i have owned. the difference between each of these options refresh wise is barely noticeable. the picture quality between QD-OLED and LG's WO-OLED is, QD-OLED is better.
I've just bought one but when i play games like CSGO, everything looks super streched. Could someone please tell me what resolution/other settings they use please? Theres two options in Nvidia control panel, options in display settings & options in-game all for the resolution but i don't know which settings to use. Also the best aspect ratio?
@@BigStuDolla91 the warranty of the LG is something that many are saying to stay away currently the DWF is on sale for refurb at 892Cad from its original price of 1,300Cad so I do not know if I should get that or wait till november black friday sale to get the LG34 instead. @@BigStuDolla91 so going for the DWF is better over the LG34 240hz correct? there's some refurb unit in best buy that is price lowered now compared to brand new so I am tempted to literally grab that one rather than waiting for the November sales

Fantastic video man just purchased this monitor a few days ago can't wait to try it out. Great info and to the point love it!
Thanks for the instructions for hdr and gsync...super helpful
I just got this monitor and can't wait for it to come, I got a 7900xt with a 1080 so the difference is going to be crazy, can't wait

Very helpful video. Many, many thanks for your effort. :)
This monitor is now 799 on best buy, im just stuck between this or the WF or the DW i'm currently rocking the older version of the alienware

hey man for the thermalright frozen notte how do you change the rgb on it?
Controlled by the rgb header so your motherboard software will do it

I think I've figured it out but thanks 🙂 I still regret not getting a smaller size monitor but hopefully I will get used to it
I really want a OLED but probably waiting until I upgrade my GPU. It's either Alienmware, the MSI 34 OLED or the Samsung G8
Just upgraded to the 45 inch lg OLED and it’s def worth it. The Alienware was really nice tho

use hdr 1000 not 400 and when setting brightness in the hdr gaming set it to 1000 not 450..
HDR 400 gave the most consistent results. HDR 1000 looked strange outside of gaming
