- I made my own OIL PASTELS...well kinda!
Hello Everyone! I hope you all are having a creative day! I had a great time making these oil pastels! I did this once before back in 2020, but I really wanted to make more.
I hope you all learned something new and finish the day with some artsy vibes. See you in the next video!
Here's last months video!

This is such a good idea! Way more environmentally friendly than buying new ones when they become nubs. Or making some unique colors. Love it!
Nothing you do is environmentally friendly and you should come to terms with that
@@moose8846 this ain't true! very few things you do are environmentally friendly but not nothin! also that's why she said more friendly as in less damaging
Moose is both right and wrong. Humans are basically an invasive species. However, there are things we can do that are less harmful than other options, such as re-using oil pastel nubs instead of buying more. Being a human is bad for the planet, but if I can pick a less wasteful option, I’m definitely going to try and go with that.
@@moose8846 yeah here we are wasting electric scrolling UA-cam, I don’t think we can judge!
@@FelinePoetry the ussue isnt so much as being human but being a "modern" human imo. Im not exoert but our ancestors lived almost exclusively off natures default resources, save for slashing-burning agriculture and other destructive practices
It’s dope to see that you’re reusing/repurposing your pastels.
You're actually on to something really ingenious Blackbean, nothing like the power of re-purposing! You've inspired me to revamp my crusty oil pastels lol. Beautiful drawing btw💕!
Don’t worry about being taken down for showing others how to repurpose! This is an encouraged practice :) always great to reduce and reuse in different ways. This particular work you’ve done is my fave by far.
I loved the colors that were result of your mixes and the final art is really cool as well.
You are so creative and also eco- friendly by recycling your old pastels. Can I mention how much I love the painting on the wall behind you in first part of the video?!😍Also love the drawing you did at the end as well.👍🏾❤
Same! That painting is adorable
I'd love to see a tarot deck with your art, it'd be so rad 💛
Ikr!
I love this color story. If you ever decide to give away the extra, count me in lol! Love your channel and your style. And I really liked this piece.
Yessss, If he goes into production I’m preordering!
Bro your content actually makes me feel so happy! Never stop uploading :)
Im glad to see you putting old pastels to good use!
Loved it from start to finish! That blue-green's my favorite, too🤩
I show up early and get dragged for not brushing my hair, LOL.
I love the way you use color, it’s badass!
Lipstick mold required ... oh .. or one of those silicone ice cube trays that give you ice that you can drop in a pop bottle.
LOVE your artwork, style, and your HUMOR
I love your sense of humor and personality! 🙂
i love your personality, i can tell you definitely live by the philosophy that "if youre not having fun youre not doing it right"
This is really cool. I loved the first colour and the pink, but really, they all looked good. It would be cool to see if you can add things to any lower quality pastels you've tried to improve them.
You can add oil paint to the mix to add more vibrancy
Next time sprinkle a Lil coconut oil or water in the pot with the pastels to see how it works with the consistency of the way the pastel comes out. Or maybe soak some of the old one in a Lil oil first but that sounds a lot like work.
Water would make them seize. They'd be gross. Water and oil don't mix!
@@Takapon218 you can add a little bit of water, less than a tea spoon, to help with blending. Yes oil and water doesn't mix but if done right it can work.
I do something similar. I collect all the left over pastels and nubs and reuse them to make new ones. That way I dont have to run out every time and buy new sets and clean up after myself
You are one of the people who inspired me to do oil pastels. Tysmmm.
Never been this early. 23 seconds. Can’t wait to watch!
I also think of a way to reuse my materials that are just laying around. I just can't seem to throw them away knowing all the possibilities I can make with them 🤣🤣
Love the vid❤️
omggg???? this has got to be my most favorite artwork by youuuu!! the pink is so prettyyyy!!
You are amazingly talented ! I recentely discovered your channel and I'm so glad I did! Your videos make me laugh.
boyyyyyy i could’ve sworn you meant you came out with a brand 😭😭 i was so proud
I love the final piece! Fun project and kind of timely. I've been looking at different tutorials for making oil pastels recently.
The color palette of the resulting colors is really pretty!
Haha when he said “hurry up with the scraping”. I love the piece at the end
I hope you do more of this own colour making. The final art piece looked so subtle with its nuanced colours.
Like the real artist you are, you are frugal. I like the bohème vibes! Better than getting every week smashed in the face with new products.
The art piece turned out gorgeous. Love your shading and blending, and how transparent and smooth the colors look.
Your sarcasm and how this video is chaotic reminds me of angry coconut and I love it
You are a gem. This was so fun to watch. And you are so TALENTED OMG. ❤❤❤
What a great idea to up-cycle old oil pastels and to create custom colors! I've got some really old/vintage ones that I might try this with (they are hard & I'm hoping to revive them a bit lol). Thanks for sharing your experiment.
I was like…. Where’s the scritchy-scratch at… phew you remembered 😂 Loved the art as well .. keep it up boss✌️✌️✌️
This was so satisfying to watch! Do fluorescent pastels exist? Would love to see you create some super trippy art with fluorescent colours!
Love the image. Those colors...❤️
That was a fantastic idea! Thanks for being so fun and funny too!
oh my GOD im in love with how earthy those colors are 0-0 and the final piece turned out phenomenal as always!!! 💕
I've been doing this for months, making my own colors since individual pastels from most brands are no where to find in my area and the colors are not to my liking. It's such a joy! And watching you do it also was very fun thank you for sharing
Looove this piece! And how clever to rejig the pastel colours!!! 💛
I just came upon your video because UA-cam suggested it for me and I have to say you're one of the best art UA-camrs out here. You're really funny and your art is AMAZING ❤️ Never stop creating! 😍
Might not be a "tutorial" but I certainly learned something. As usual , your artwork is outstanding and your comedic timing (intentioned or not) is on point! Love your channel! You made me like oil pastels, which is something I wouldn't even have considered a few years ago.
Three tbsn bees wax two tbsp sunflower oil. 1 tsp mica mixed with more oil about 1 tsp, mull it add to oil and sunflower oil heat med or low until melted...
Brilliant! And loved the colours you obtained! 🥰
See you can save the scraps instead of waisting stuff you can make a new and it can last for a longer time . Freaking cool colors too 😁😊🙂🙂😁 love it.
At the art store you can get good oils for those, I believe walnut and linseed oils are good.
Imma try this! I have old oil pastels and interested on making new artworks in the future, recycling will do the work for me, will experiment for more saturated and neutrals though. You made it so fun, Chris! Love the artwork!
The colors turned out beautifully!!😍😍
Those colours were so cute tho. They were really lovely and the art piece you made was gorgeous Christian. I love how different you made the features on it and how you framed it. Your art always makes me happy and I find myself smiling each time I see you draw or paint. God bless you and yours, now and always.
Loved the art 🎉 and the rice bag 😂 and the "míralo" lmaoo
Hey😘🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Just finished watching the video. Super cool. Thanks for sharing 🤗💕
I love love love oil pastels! I really like how u use a rainbow of colors! I really want to learn to do more with oil pastels. Please teach a lesson on how to do noses! Those r so hard for me, and your noses look so fun!
Wish I could like this video twice. So glad UA-cam recommended your videos to me :)
You are one of my favorite creators. You are hilarious. Gorgeous and your work is so damn satisfying 🥺🙏🏽🤍
I love the colorful earth tones 👏🏻😍
This man is so funny. I love watching your stuff. Lots of love ❤️ keep doin what you're doin hun 😘
Love the art peace and your color mix 😍💘😘 on point.
Commenting for the algorithm because I love your work and I’m excited to see your channel grow!! Keep up the great work ❤️
This was great! Loved that you explored a new avenue to create your own colors! 👍🏽❣️
Love the colors and love this weird portrait.
I loove the painting in the background!
I love your videos, they're so entertaining yet relaxing 😌
Such great ideas especially when oil paste have limited colours compared to other mediums
You have inspired me to do something with all the old pastels I have been gifted with or bought that are too hard to use. I may experiment with adding a few drops of oil to the mix to soften them up a bit. It will be a winter project.
DUDE I am so glad i got this video reccomended, after watching this I watched a lot of your videos and I'm so glad I found an art channel with your ( and mine) type of humour, also the gremlin noises you make...yeah I think we share a few braincels🧠🤝🧠. this video is making me want to look for my old pastels and melt them, and just in general try oil pastels again, which might be good because I have been fighting art block for so long. I'm looking forward to what other videos you're going to make ( also you mentioned baking pastries once?! hell yeah!!)
This is amazing~ I loved listening to you talk about the process! It's like I'm listening to a friend. ✨💚 I love the masterpiece at the end! 💯
This is such a good idea! Eco friendly, creative and easy. I don't even use oil pastels much, but your art make me want to use them more!
You inspire me. I went back to my pastes. On large paper.
love the subtle colours! Brilliant idea
Ily! Your art is some of the best stuff I’ve ever seen 😎keep doin u gurl
That is so cool and also very eco-friendly to be reusing your old pastels! I on the other hand would never even wanna try this since I could burn myself just LOOKING at the stove😂! But this is so cool and very inspiring to watch💙💙💙, always love your videos!
So entertaining!
Your art is so cool! I haven’t used oil pastels since high school and never realized the ways you can create texture.
That blue green is one of my favorite colors
absolutely ADORE you and your art
"rate me on everything" lol . I loved watching your entire process.
I love the scraping effect!
Great job on making your pastels and the portrait. You always make me laugh while creating!😁👍🏼
I just adore your personality 🥰🌼 bet you're an awesome friend to have
Great vid. Great drawing. Great hair. Thank you.
GREAT IDEA!!! I LOVE THE DRAWING AS WELL.
The color palette was beautiful and the texture was really nice
This was so cool. I will take your advice and not do it at home because I am so clumsy. If you're worried about the structural integrity of the little plastic container you used to heat up the oil pastels, I recommend using a glass cooking bowl. They're really strong and they can withstand loads of heat.
Lol I enjoy your videos the way you talk to the camera. I find it so funny
Oooo I love this piece, I like the background a lot too
They are beautiful colours.
Girl boss pastels
I'ma need to do this eventually even though you said not to lol. Lovely work! 🥰
wth the crayons u made all look so good together as a palette
You are doing great dw cuz it looks like you just pause for a few minutes and just rethink abut your entire life all over again.😂💜
My favourite part of your videos is when you bark at me 😂
In school we talk about you and see you painting 🖼
this is so dope! i love your style! the finished piece looked so banger
Dude the colours came out legit... i like that weird pukey one actually cos it is raw.
I love it! Those colours are really pretty, too.
It's a great idea! I wonder if you could mix in a little oil into the melted mixture to bring back some moisture to dry pastels.
Bro the fucking noises took me out 😂 your personality and art are so dope!
Brilliant idea. Thanks for sharing. :)
You are so talented. Love your art
