Resin art sphere, [ Alcohol ink in resin ], Epoxy resin. 3D RESIN Art. DIY

  • In this project, I made Resin art sphere. Alcohol ink in resin. I poured alcohol ink into the epoxy resin and mixed it a little. In this DIY, the main thing was that the epoxy resin was thick. Alcohol ink in resin can still be combated - for that you need to know your resin and the basic principles of using the ink in it. To begin with, we drip alcohol ink, and then either smear it with a stick in resin, or leave it in this form, or pour a little transparent epoxy resin on top. The result is a very cool epoxy fill with alcohol ink. In macro photography, he looks just amazing and mesmerizing. Like space or a nebula in space.

    Hi! I was thinking for a long time to make a sphere for my sister. I wanted it in amber with a fly trapped inside. But I was reminded that she is deathly afraid of flying bugs. I happened onto this video. I was inspired by your creation. I saw your other sphere videos. They are lovely. I will try it this weekend. Thanks for posting!

    • @ARTtherapyEpoxy
      @ARTtherapyEpoxy  2 роки тому +1

      I have it universal, but it thickens for me longer than 4-6 hours. for this you need to dilute it with special thinners if the manufacturer has them, or work with it faster. In any case, by experimentation you will find a way.

    Hi, I've been working on a similar project but couldn't get the same result. What resin do you use and how do you make the ink sink? It always mostly stays on top of the mold for me, even if I create some space for it inside the resin.

    • @ARTtherapyEpoxy
      @ARTtherapyEpoxy  2 місяці тому

      A lot depends on the resin and ink. You need to experiment and find an approach to your materials. Carry out a test on a small volume of resin, drop ink after 1 hour, 2, 4, 8. And all this in different forms. Then you will understand how your resin reacts with the ink. This is exactly how I tested.

      Resins are usually different. Look in your country and try to work with them. manufacturers are different, and the properties of the resin are also different. There are some for faster work but they are not designed for large fills. There are resins that need to be worked after some time, 3-6 hours after mixing, to get such a result. I have a resin that takes a long time to dry. I sanded with sandpaper with a fraction of 100 and 200. And then again filled it with a thin layer of epoxy

      Hello, I pour epoxy on top, this is one way to make a smooth, glossy and transparent surface, instead of sanding by hand.
      And the stand is square, it is an acrylic sheet so that the epoxy resin does not spread much on the table))

    OK so at the end you said "fill it with resin" when you poured over the sphere.. fill what exactly?? And what did you do with all the extra waste resin that flowed over the globe? Is out just sitting there at the bottom all cured? I'm so confused..

    • @ARTtherapyEpoxy
      @ARTtherapyEpoxy  Рік тому

      Yes, as a result, you will have a small platform at the bottom. which can be left on or sanded down if you want a smooth sphere. But in different videos I show different approaches. And you choose what you like. You can just sand everything down with sandpaper.

      @@ARTtherapyEpoxy

    • @ARTtherapyEpoxy
      @ARTtherapyEpoxy  Рік тому

      50-60 °C. but do not forget, some resins, when heated to such temperatures, begin to harden faster, and some begin to boil. Therefore, test your resin on a small volume first.

    How do you get the alcohol ink to do it's thing so perfect?

    • @ARTtherapyEpoxy

      The whole secret is that I work when the resin is already thick, then the ink leaves interesting traces and stains.

  • @Boogie_the_cat
    @Boogie_the_cat 8 місяців тому

    That is a good trick with the glue gun. 8 have that same mold, and after a few uses, I found that it doesn't stay together.
    I will try this next time. Your alcohol ink art inside the sphere looks very good as well. I am having trouble getting that effect, and am buying some low viscosity resin to see if that makes a difference.
    However, every time I have tried to use hot (even just warm) water, my resin flash cured. Do you use a slow set 48 hour epoxy? Thank you.

    • @ARTtherapyEpoxy
      @ARTtherapyEpoxy  8 місяців тому

      Yes, I went through this too. When the resin is thick and heated, it boils and becomes hard. To do this, I switched to longer hardening processes. But sometimes I also use thick resin for a thin layer.
      Create and experiment in small volumes with your resin in order to understand and correctly apply it in your products. ❤

    How is the resin not hardened by now? You did warm it up, which I found out LATER after watching this video, and doing the same things. That it makes the resin cure ALOT faster!!! So, how is the top not solid yet? Are you using DEEP POUR resin? What brand?? PLEASE tell us something, so people won’t be trying to accomplish this, only for your toothpick to find a solid surface after waiting the 4-hours.

    • @ARTtherapyEpoxy
      @ARTtherapyEpoxy  Рік тому

      So. Let's do it again. Don't get attached to a brand name. You need to understand how to work with your resin, which is available in your country or region and which you can buy. Your task is to understand at what temperature the resin begins to thicken. Through trial and error, I figured out how my resin works. And you spam messages. So that the spots harden in the resin and leave their mark, if the resin is still liquid, then the ink will dissolve in it.

    Tried hot water, resin got thinner but still held air. I think I'll rig a pressure pot for small clear stuff, but I'm still trying different brands so it likely could be that. Sometimes there's less bubbles and a heat gun gets most, but still some left.

    • @ARTtherapyEpoxy
      @ARTtherapyEpoxy  3 місяці тому +1

      Yes, it all depends on the resin, the temperature in the room, the thoroughness of mixing, and the material you are pouring with resin. Heating the resin, a hair dryer, or a vacuum installation will help.
