Man my baby 1year old and still shitting in the cage at night lol im hoping for any type of solution lol

My advice for new owners is to soak up their pee or pick up poop and place it outside. You have to walk the dog around that area so they can smell around and be patient. If your pet pees or poops in the same area just clean it up really well and place their food in that location as it makes them understand that the whole house inside is their house as well. There are different approaches from different people but this one has worked great for me
Never had a house training problem with my dog when she was a puppy. I would take her outside and tell her ...go potty! To this day i tell her go potty when i want her to hurry. The first few times I would wait no matter how long it took until she at least went pee pee and then the praise and the song would begin! the minute she went pee or poop outside at the party began I would sing to her dance around tell her what a good girl she was. She has never made a mistake or pottied in the house in 10 years. When they go potty you have to make sure that it's the best thing in the world and you make sure that you take them out often, right after they eat and drink and then about 40 minutes later and then about an hour and a half later and then another hour you just keep doing that in the first few months again my dog was rock hard housebroken within 2 or 3 weeks if you want to use my song the lyrics are.... "you did that potty, you did the pp you did do pupus, you are a good girl , good girls do their potties!! good girls do their potties!! cuz you're a big girl, and you are the best girl" Now you can add boy in there if you want and I haven't copyrighted my song yet so feel free to use it and it must be done in a super high-pitched voice with a little dance.
I love your song byw
u deserve a grammy
We have 5 poodles and yes they go potty outside. The problem is we cannot leave the door open. Our senior toy poodle will scratch on the door or bark if he wants to go outside but not our 3 standards and other mini poodle. I guess it's our option is to take them outside and not expect them to speak or make a sound to go potty😢
This is so cute thank you
Haha that's so cute completely agree we do the same are right now with our puppy benji ❤
Your videos are awesome! Literally showing me how smart my new puppy is & improving our communication with one another after only watching a few of your videos! Thank you so much!! 🤩👏🏼
This helps a lot. Thanks 😊
I kept a leash on my dog most of the time when it was a puppy. I taught him to follow me every time I got up. I took him out frequently
I always take the pup outside and tell the pup to hurry up. They hear this every half minute or so until they go. Immediately after the act, they get all the loving they can observe. Soon, a pup will learn that I'm a simple creature. Relieving themselves seems pretty easy to make me that happy.
Great advise on the 3 tips to potty freedoe.
Dude you are a life saver, I have a shih-poo and he’s 5 weeks old and all your videos are so helpful and very easy to follow thanks so much I love your channel
How is your potty training going? I noticed you have a 5 week old. So do I.

Hey Will I know it is off Topic but just wondering what is your opinion’s on Beauceron
Who else is watching this because they want a dog?
thank you so much
Love your videos ❤❤
Thank you
Thank you for your awesome videos Will. I have a red fox Labrador puppy about 11 weeks old. We have had him for only a few days but I have been doing all the things you suggest ie taking outside regularly and giving lots of praise when he goes. He still sometimes pees in the house though. I also walk him both around the street where we live and also at the nature centre a few mins from my house. When we go on these longer walks he often doesn’t pee but when we arrive home he will then pee in the living room within a few seconds of arriving home which is a little frustrating.
Could it be he is distracted when he is away from home.
I will continue to try and anticipate when he is doing but the peeing after a walk is puzzling me.
Thanks
Phill
I’m just watching cause I had two dogs before but I was young so I didn’t really remember how my dogs was potty trained so I’m just preparing myself so when i get another I am ready to do what is needed
I have a 3 yo black lab, and its fine in our house, but i took him on holiday recently and he pooed in the house multiple times. Luckily my family have a good sense of humour. Its the same with wharehouse areas and workshops. Does anyone know why this is? Thankyou
What if we have something scheduled midweek (i.e. going into the office) and have to go out, but we are in the middle of the potty training phase? Should we leave the puppy in the penned off area with the crate open (if it is not finished crate training)? Will that break the system, missing one whole day of the potty training?
We got lucky with our pup. We have a 10 yo Staffy, the pup saw her asking at the door and sat there with her, that was the last time she had an accident in the house ❤
The Gospel, which means the Good News is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. The one God is a trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Son came and laid down his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him.

He would walk the fence line like he was on patrol and my pups still do it til this day
Hi my dad got a new dog.. but shes only used to going in the garden. And when you take her out. Walking etc she doesnt go. ? She tends to wait till back home in garden. Same kinda areas. And thats wee and poo. Any tips to get her going out side ??? Thanks.
Any idea why my 7months old German shepherd don’t do toilet outside? He’s got no problem to do so in the garden. No accidents at home at all. But my garden looks like a mine field.
So do I get rid of puppy pads all together for my 9 week old labradoodle?
I take him out every hour. Crate him at night. But have a puppy pad out during the day “just in case”
Am I confusing him?
We’ve had our puppy for a few weeks. We crate train her or we limit her freedom in a X-pen
We take her bathroom about every three hours or so in the daytime and first thing in the morning to the backyard. We do treats and praise.
But she still gets the idea that she can pee or poop in the house every other day or so. We interrupt it when we can pick her up and take her out, but it still happens.
Any suggestions for training this mini schnauzer?
Wish you were here in the states....

Hello will, I am about to get a puppy and thanks to you and your efforts Ive been able to go from knowing nothing to being extremely confident in getting my new rottweiler k9 companion. I do have one dire question however that im not sure if you've answered in any of the videos I have watched from you : how long can puppies stay alone, what training can you provide them with so that they do not get stressed and what can you do in order to keep them happy. I know youve given some attention to this such as keep them tired etc, but what can you do, in depth, about a puppy. Thank you soo much and hope the best for you and your wife.
Not Will but maybe I can help. From what I've read you need to build them up to it, get them used to the crate/the area they are alone in, e.g. leave them for a minute, come back, 3 min, come back, 5, ten etc. I think there wad a guideline that said for a young young pup an hour should be max and then when 3 months a couple hours etc. Dont make a fuss when you leave the area too (i think Will mentioned that in one video)
Depends on age. When you bring them home, it'll be half an hour to 3 hours max depending on the dog, because they won't have developed their ability to hold it yet. Build the time up gradually, over weeks to months.
Rottweiler is a lot of dog for someone not experienced owning dogs 😬
@@RyeFleming20 It can be done, but I agree you'd really have to put a lot of work in to make that work.

Hi! Do you have any tips for night time potty training? We got a 3 month old English springer spaniel on Three days ago and started potty training immediately. But having some trouble with night time
I watch a video and they say theres not much you can do about this umless you stay awake. Puppies have small blader so they go pee and poop frequently thats why you just have to keep at it until they get older and can hold it through the night.
Just be consistent, it is still young. We have 3 standard poodles, we got them at 2mons old and they're 7mons old now. No accidents in the house, make sure you take it outside before you go to bed then wake up again after 3hrs to take it outside. Like me, I sleep at 10 and I would get up at 4am to take them all outside. Just be patient and consistent, scold it whenever their's an accidents and make sure you make it clear that you aren't happy with it. Praise her or him whenever he relieves itself too
I'm sure your issue is already fixed, but for people with the same issue make sure you have a confined space for the dog, big enough for them to sleep comfortably but too so big that they can pee on one side and then just sleep on the other. Puppies will not want to pee where they sleep and this will teach them to hold it. You may still have to get up in the middle of the night for young puppies once or twice but some puppies can hold it most if not all night
what if the puppy can still not go out as the vaccines are not complete yet? We can do at balcony?
My puppy likes to pee outside, problem is too much. She goes to the door or pretends to pee so she can go outside all the time. Any suggestions?
Quick question, irrespective of how long the process might take, what does the end result look like? E.g. does the dog indicate to you it needs to go outside? Do they hold it in until they go outside at the same time(s) everyday?
My case with 3 standard poodles at 7mons old, they are able to hold their means until I woke up. Our senior toy poodle knows how to make a sound when he wants to go outside. Maybe the older they are, the smarter they get...
They indicate that they need to go outside (if urgent) or hold until their next walk. Depending on age you can roughly estimate how long after the latest meal the dog needs to go. That's usually the "end goal".
My dog refused to do any of her business in the garden, always waited and only did on our walk (I didn't potty trained her). Of course with age that might change.
Depending on breed and age, the dog can no longer hold it (for long) or doesn't even realize that they have to go at all.
Some people can train their dogs to ring a bell to go outside. Some dogs will naturally indicate though. My dog whines and hangs around the door, not super clear but the indication is there, my last dog would sit right at the door and whine, and then bark if we didn't notice, her indication was very good.
Personally most dogs I know who are toilet trained will whine at the door at least a bit
Yeah, what do you do as soon as you take them out of the cage ,they go rite away,on the floor? i live on the second floor.
Hi! I am about to move out into a house on my own. I wanted to ask: what dog breeds would you recommend for a first time single owner that works from home? (that won't be lonely with just itself and me in the house)
from experience definitely get a bigger dog because from what i’ve noticed small dogs are wayyy more difficult
A border collie is actually really smart. But a pug will be so grateful for everything. And you need to be grateful about it too
Poodles
Yea and what do you do when the puppy ONLY goes in it's den/crate??
My problem too!!!!
Wish I’d found this video a month ago! I’ve been struggling!
And so have my floors. 😅
same !!
@@unmotheringthewoman8493 Following this we’ve only had two accidents since! And a .5 where he stopped himself mid stream when he realized we didn’t want him to and held it till we got out 15 minutes later!
Everyone is much happier.
Can you house train a 10 week old puppy?
How often do you take your puppy out during the night?
My pup goes crazy in a kennel.
After the first week of on the hour every hour, then how often should I take him to pee/poo?
How to train the puppy, when you live on a high rise apartment and it take a bit to go down. We trained him to go on the balcony pad, but we want him to go outside too, and he gets super distracted by the cars, the people, the other dogs that he forgets to go even if we stay for 30 min and will go upstairs and run to the balcony or pee in front of the door.
Did you solve this? Mine is doing exactly this
saaame she hates going downstairs so much
My 7 week old pitbull puppy won’t use the bathroom outside, currently when I live there is snow on the ground but I found a spot where there is grass. Whines the whole time (15min) of me standing outside asking him to “Potty” comes inside and shits on the floor. Also have been trying to train him on a puppy pad knows where it is walks on it sniffs takes 4 steps off of it and pees on the floor idk what to do
As ridiculous as this sounds, turn the 15 minutes into 30 or 45 minutes. The dog will basically have to piss/shit themselves eventually. And then have porkchops, bacon, chicken on the ready. Throw a damn birthday party. Make it the most memorable piss or shit the dogs ever had. Repeat every hour…
I thought I watched enough videos but, my shepsky has had over 10 accidents in the house less than a weeks she’s been here. She’ll pee outside easily but, will wait right until she’s back inside to poop . She’s 8 weeks old and I know the days will get better but, I’m desperate so here I am watching all the videos again .
My puppy is 4months old but pees instead the house anywhere and everywhere and poops too… how do I fix that? He does go outside but doesn’t go out when I want him too and pees instead the house and poops.
We got our new pup 2 days ago, he’s taught himself to go on puppy pads at the moment how do I now transfer this outside
Slowly move the puppy pads further and further out each day, till eventually the pup will learn to go outside
PSA - if you’re using a padding in the crate for comfort, check under it once in a while in case he has had an accident. Ours was dry on top but had gone through to the bottom, likely causing some stress to the pup due to the smell in his den. All clean now though
So I have a raggle (beagle and rat terrier breed) and he would literally hold himself until he goes to eat and then pee and poop while eating. We tried the closing off with pens but this boy knows how to climb out the pen and once he’s out all hell breaks loose😭😭. Help me 😢
I've always loved your videos and your advice, but as a person with neurological issues, the flashing makes it hard to watch.
Do you pick the puppy up and go outside or do you let the puppy follow you outside?????
On the hour every hour even if they’re sleeping?
He said “during waking hours” at 3:19.
They should be able to make it about 6 hours at night but might start whining because their bladder is full sooner.
Hi will. I think I’ve made a mistake by teaching my 12 week puppy to pee and poo in the back garden. As now it won’t poo/pee when out on a walk… how do I switch its mindsight from back garden to out on walk
Were you successful?
@@rominapradosmaffia yes and no. I’ve started rewarding him for every wee or poo he does on walks and encourage it. I do however feel he still waits until we get home and only goes when really pressed on the walks. Not sure if it’s because he’s on leash and doesn’t feel comfortable or if it’s just that he’s duly identified the back garden as his loo space.
So how about when the dog absolutely does not care about crapping in, laying in, and trampling and spreading it all over their crate/bed??
What if your 15 week old staffy pees in the house every 10-15 minutes when not in crate. It’s like she gathers every thing in her to go in the split second I turn to flip and egg.. even though she was just out.
My problem is my puppy is literally so angry when we put him in a crate and is loud enough he disturbs the neighbors
Same 😂
Teach the quiet command
You act like it's that easy @@glorybeauty2372
Mines pooping in its crate he’s only 16 weeks old and likes the taste too ??? Can’t figure it out never had this problem before
Do you use physical discipline when they potty on the floor?
I have had my puppy for a year now and we used puppy pads but she still isn’t trained, and has accidents. How do you recommend starting to try and train her to go outside?
I'd take a soiled pad outside and put it on the ground wherever you want it to go. Might help! Fingers crossed....
And praise, praise & more praise when they go!
The problem I seem to be having with my 9 week old puppy is that he willingly pees or even poops his bed and I’m tearing my hair out because I have no idea how to crate train him if he continues to do this. I do take him out frequently, have routine but I have no idea why this keep happening..
Our puppy was the same because the breeder let them pee on floors as puppies. So she was used to peeing everywhere.
Took a lot of time and patience to get that out of her.... keep up your routine and reward your puppy like crazy when she pees outside.
You could even try to establish a "Go potty" command so that the puppy learns you telling her to "Go potty" and therefore learns where to "Go potty" 😊 hope that made sense
Katla W. Your puppy is young. I took my baby out almost every hour. I kept him right next to me when I was home. When he would come sit right in front of me, looking up at me, I'd tell him it's time to go out. He is a year old now. He's had a few accidents along the way, but, he was a baby.
Get a schedule, toilet him frequently, and reward him lavishly when he goes. I used edible reinforcement in the begining, and faded it as he got older. My big baby still likes the verbal.praise, because he loves being the center of attention.
I never punished him for his accidents but I did scold him. I believe it takes a full year before you can feel you've accomplished this.
Stay patient, it will sink in. ❤
For crate training, get a Kong, stuff it with treats, then put him in the crate. First for short spells, then increase. Put him in there to nap, after he's been playing, or after a walk. He will actually learn to like it- it becomes his safe spot. I leave the door open during the day so he can go in when he likes. I always put him in there when I go out.
Hello. My 4 month old puppy does the same. She relieves herself everywhere, including her bed, and just flat out refuses to learn obedience. Treats or not. I feel like when she takes a step forward, the next day she takes 10 steps back. So, I feel your pain.
Unless you're dog will be a working dog in which case a crate will be needed for air/long travel, crate training, which was renamed from cage training for obvious reasons, should never be done. Dogs are the equivalent of a 6-9yo child. You don't put them in cages for obvious reasons. If you're doing that to your dog you need to not have a dog.
I don’t have a crate ! What else can I do
Go to goodwill! You will find one there just keep looking
My pup I brought home and used a crate from day I brought her home and take her outside bt she still uses her bedding she is prasised when goes outside and still uses her bedding 😂it’s a nightmare atm first dog to take so long to train
What if you have a dog pees on the wall of that den lol cause.....
My dog uses wee pads and has gotten into the habit of wanting to rush and so she only pees along the edge
This puppy in my house is pooping and peeing Right in front of me!! I’m right here. Putting her in the crate here wouldn’t help cause she needs to go. I’m so frustrated.
10/25/23 7am
Yeah I been doing all that.. for 6 days.. still having accidents
I had to use a wrap on my male puppy due to his over active bladder. I want to take it off now, but he is peeing way too much. Almost 3 times or more an hour. When I take him out he most of the time does nothing he waits until we come back inside 😢
Im having thé same problem . I suspect its because thé dog is afraid outside . Going to thé toilet leaves an animal vulnérable to attack . Its a primative instinct . Ive only just got my puppy . Hes six months old and never left thé house when at thé breeders . Im waiting till hé feels more secure with me and thé enviroment before a punish him for accidents. I still shout at him with a stern voice so he knows its wrong and touch his nose to thé poo so he knows why Im shouting .I think it will fall into place . Its all a bit over whelming for thé poor little blob . Hes probably been left untrained for thé six months so hes developed bad habits . In two days hes learnt five commands . Theres hope .
Your dog might need a vet check up. Take some pee and poo with you for testing . Could bé urine infection . Better to cure that quick . Its painful .
PS try walking thé same route every day so things are prédictible to build a sensé of safety .
Ok so I have a question if the puppy pees in the house do you spank them
When my puppy on her 2nd day with me by herself run to the backyard and pissed i thought i was gonna cry. I know its probably a one off though.
Mine is a bit of a struggle. She can go out and pee multiple times than come in and do it on the floor within 15 minutes. I catch her in the act and say my eh uh word that seems to cut through the brain and gets them to stop what they are doing than I scoop her up and celebrate when she finishes outside. I'm not sure if she is peeing because she wants to be outside or what.
I've spent an hour outside with my pup only to have him poop as soon as we go in
@@annshanley1759 mine likes to go on rugs or mats. Because they laid puppy pads out while they were little. So she thinks it ok to go on square mats or rugs.

what sucks is his crate is in the living room and his food is in the kitchen so right when he’s done his food, he’s gonna piss and I don’t even have time to get him outside:(
Wtf would you crate a dog? That shit is animal abuse!
@@Papapapapa78 no it’s not they need unsupervised uninterrupted naps and that is what the crates for. do ur research
@@adriannamathers5306 Lmao that makes no sense, you Americans are weird. Dogs here sleep like rocks without crates, that's just an excuse Americans use to lock up their dogs conveniently, but it's actually caging them in a pretty cage. If the crate is open and they decide to go inside by THEMSELVES it's another story, but locking them up is animal abuse, there's no way around it.
@@Papapapapa78No its not when used correctly . I have a puppy . I must crate him while Im out otherwise hé could chew through wires or other dangerous naughtys . Hé gets a walk before entering thé crate .
I think you mean those cruel people who lock up dogs for long hours . You dont need a crate to bé barbaric and an animal abuser .

Dude. Love the information, good videos... except for the flashing lights. Like... why??? It's unnecessary, distracting and make the videos SO much harder to watch.
